I don't know that the victory over Florida is the most meaningful or favorite really, but it is the first era of the Harbaugh victory I saw after I was allowed to come home from the hospital after my little viral scare (well, another week and I would have been in deep shit, so they told me). It was a great way to take one's mind off what had been a less than ideal - often scary - previous 10 days.

I've always wanted to be a successful vintner in my own little fantasies - I love wine, I've studied wine in my spare time and if it were possible to just go to town, I would get myself a vineyard, bottle my own brand "Sinister" (so named as I am left-handed) and make a modest living doing that.

Indeed, although Ann Arbor has one hell of backyard if it extends all the way out to Kent County. Point taken all the same, of course.
Same hometown as Joe Staley (Rockford), as I recall.

You know, they rather do think this. It's very hard to reconcile their view of that university and that city with what both actually are. Indeed, if once in a while someone took their newborn to the Linebacker Lounge to be baptized with a pitcher of Molson by Rudy Ruettiger, I really wouldn't be shocked at all.

I will admit, I had to read that comment twice because I was sure I was reading it wrong and no one could possibly mean that or do that even if I read it right.
Turns out that I read it correctly.

The two that I am working on right now are "Into The Badlands" and I am filling in the late 3rd season gap that I experienced with "The Blacklist", which is consequently helping me understand the fourth season that much better.
Netflix also recently brought back "Fawlty Towers", which I would recommend to anyone anywhere even if the series is now 40 years old, because John Cleese at his best, IMHO.

Actually, beginning sometime in mid-August, we might begin with a Friday Night Mediation thread because there always seem to be diametrically opposed and unreasonably maintained positions and takes which begin to fly all over the place and there should be a place where they are properly mediated.
|1 day 9 hours ago||Very Cool Indeed...||
This is another example of Jim Harbaugh having that extra gear that allows him to do it just a bit better than everyone else - and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, of course. I think this is actually really cool indeed.
I will echo the sentiment of someone above though - if you're there and want to mail something back home to show people you were there, mail it from the Vatican, not across the way in Rome.

If you ask the people at the house diagonally across from mine, 4/20 is about three times a week plus a weekend day of their choosing. It's usually pretty harmless unless the wind is blowing from a vaguely easterly direction, then we just close the windows on the side of the house.

Ill will grows at mods. These threads bring lots of anger and burn relationships. Before you know it, people are downvoting each other like crazy. Politics starts bleeding into other threads.
Especially when you have someone as active and opinionated as Jim Harbaugh in the community and in charge of your football team, you're going to experience the intersection of sports and culture, and intertwined in both is this country's harshly divided political climate. Like Seth sort of said, some of this is incumbent upon the poster and those responding, and anything that gets way out of hand will of course come down or anything which is specifically meant to be inflammatory in one direction or the other will come down, but EVERYTHING? No, that's going to shut down a lot of threads that actually - TYPICALLY - would go well too.

In large part, that’s because managers are trying to maximize the number of saves for their closer, as opposed to the number of wins for their team. They’re managing to a stat and playing worse baseball as a result.
I hate it at work and I hate it in my beloved baseball - I hate it when people manage to numbers to the point where quality suffers and the number, while looking good, rings hollow. Gossage was correct in the beginning of this article.
Not sure what the correct answer is, but this is an interesting stat proposal.

I need to try this, go up to the gate, say that I am umbig11 and see what happens.
As it is, if you say, "I am an MGoBlog moderator", you are immediately grabbed by campus security and shoved into a maintenance closet for the duration of the event.

We definitely have had folks in and out of here over the years who marched the beat of their own drummer, and in this case, thedrum was a bit too loud for most folks.
He would greet random people with "Hey, babe" - men and women alike - and no, not everyone laughed. He ended almost every sentence with "sure thing" and began most of them with "Here's the deal".
On storm one time, we were down at Greenfield and Grand River in Detroit, which is not a fantastic area - indeed, we had the DPD out there with us while this pole lead was being worked on. There he was, on the corner by the Tower Center, with a rainbow headband and a lollipop. Yes, he was consuming it - quietly, by himself, as people walked in and out of shops. Nobody messed with him.
He was actually close to retirement, as you would have guessed from the map locating his future cabin and detailing the percent complete for the cabin. That in itself isn't so crazy, but every time you stopped by his desk, he would show you close up photos of the frame and, in particular, the quality of the nails. Yes, the nails. He was very proud of those.
Weeks before he was supposed to officially leave, he managed to get caught up a bit of mileage fraud, and they essentially told him "Leave now or be canned". We never saw him after that.

Now, this...this cart had to have spawned one hell of a tailgate, Miller notwithstanding.
As for the question the OP poses, I guess among the ones I've visited over the years, it's probably a tie between Ross-Ade and Spartan Stadium for aesthetic reasons mainly. Ryan Field, while amateur-looking is not the worst place to see a game, lack of amenities aside.

That wouldn't shock me - that I could accept as something a person might actually do with a device in hand during a lecture. I am far more fascinated by whoever was looking at photos of sliced bread. Seriously? Sliced bread? Don't you want to look at the porn (or maybe MGoBlog? Why not BOTH?) like the people around you?

Please try to keep this one as far from politics as you can, folks. I realize that some see what Kaepernick did as controversial and distasteful, but keep the politicized part of it out of this thread.
I've already removed two of the more inflammatory segments (and sadly some nice rebuttals were collateral damage) and I really don't want to feel the need to do more than that.

I don't mind the renovations and improvements - it's some of the people that make that particular era of the stadium special really. Truth be told, as long as there is something on that spot called Michigan Stadium and my beloved Wolverines play in it, it will be something to cherish every time I am there regardless of configuration.
Well, I say regardless of configuration until they expand and taking my fucking favorite parking spot, then I suppose I will.....accept the longer walk.

Although I wasn't trying to worry myself too much about injuries in March for the most part, outside of anything immediately concerning, the talk about McDoom in a walking boot was...well....concerning. Glad to hear that these are not long-term problems, of course.

Sending good thoughts in your direction.
I cannot even begin to imagine what parents go through in these situations, where a child has a serious illness.
Cranky Dave suggested Make-A-Wish - I second that. We've done it as a group at work and it is incredible to see the results.

Aaron Hernandez is in no way, shape or form a sympathetic figure and rightly so, but as someone said above, I am also not going to celebrate anyone's suicide. It's a sad ending to what seemed like an unfortunately wasted life and wasted talent, and perhaps we'll never really know if that was Hernandez being clinically sociopathic or simply being unable to overcome problems which began in his youth or if it is a dynamic combination of these.

Most years, I owe at least a little to both the feds and the state of Michigan - usually no more than a couple hundred in each case. My problem is that I am a procrastinator since I typically don't manage to file my returns until the first week of April. Part of that for me is that I have side things going on in addition to my day job, so the returns get a little....weird, I guess.

I will say that I've always been a bit curious what Morelli's thoughts in the first minute or two after that hit were. I imagine something along the lines of, "What a very pretty sky tonight.......oh, fuck, I think that's a bone bruise....." - things like that, wandering between his surroundings and the pain.

My kids are almost 11 and 10, but they still occasionally - for now - like the odd trip to the petting zoo at Domino's Farms or th Leslie Center if it's open. They've always liked those places. As others suggested, taking in a baseball game on campus is a great option too.
The Hands-On Museum is a must. I have more fun in that place than my kids sometimes, I think.
|4 days 14 hours ago||I Saw That...||
Nick's right, I think, and I noticed that too on Saturday - basically, the one play they should be able to block in Harbaugh's offense is one they blocked pretty much perfectly and it was fun to watch them do it. That's one of the things that has me confident that this OL is definitely climbing back to the offensive lines of the past that we talk about often around here.
