Refs are fucking garbage. The good news is we could not have played a worse half. The bad news is we may not play any better next half. |

Are these refs calling?? |

I was at the OSU game this year - and have been for many of the previous years - and all I can think about is Michigan fans would NEVER have the same reception that OSU fans get at the Big House. We're too nice. Teams know it. Fans know it. And it doesn't create a hostile away atmosphere. I am in no way advocating violence - but there has to be some middle ground between high fives and hugs with away fans and English soccer stadium hooligans, right? |
9 weeks 5 days ago | Price...and also schedule |
I'll fork over a couple hundred bucks for one marquee game a year, but why would I drop a grand or more for season tickets to watch blowouts against Cinncinati, Air Force, Rutgers, or Maryland? Expansion has killed attedance. Every year you have a couple MAC cupcakes but now you get a couple garbage B1G teams - there's no sense going to those games when its over by the 3rd quarter and half the stadium empties out. Next year's home schedule is: WMU SMU Nebraska Maryland Wisconsin PSU Indiana That's possibly three but likely only two ranked teams and no rivals. If Michigan's attendance was down this year, it will be even lower next... I imagine it's the same across the country. College football is turning into the NFL - no one cares about Browns versus Titans because there's no history there. What is the draw for Nebraska to play Purdue every year? Or West Virginia against Kansas State? You can go on down the line...I like my team but couldn't care less who they play about 75% of the time. EDIT: I just went through the schedule when my brother attended UM from 1996-1999. During those four seasons (96, 96, 98, 99) they played ONE MAC team, Hawaii, and Rice. Those are the only games against mid-major (or less) competition - three over four years. |

Oh good let’s add another cook in the kitchen. |

But if playing or coaching college football is your only criteria for knowledge of the sport than you might as well stop reading mgoblog.... |

Wild nick saban in a national championship game pulled a starting qb with a 25-2 record for a freshman who barely played and yet we kept JOK in for the entire MSU game... |
14 weeks 6 days ago | Georgia |
Just threw an 80 yard touchdown from their freshmen qb to a redshirt freshmen WR. Before that, ALs freshmen qb threw a touchdown to a freshmen receiver... |
14 weeks 6 days ago | Yikes |
Two freshmen QBs slinging the ball around in the national championship game. Not a good look for the QB whisperer... |
14 weeks 6 days ago | A little |
Bitter that Georgia is this good this soon with a new coach. |

that money at Michigan doesn't matter because we're sitting on a huge pile of it, the opportunity cost of this situation still should be a cause for concern. There are alot of top-tier OC or OL coaches in the nation that would walk to Michigan for 1.1 Million. There's no reason why we should be settling for someone with less than an ideal track record eating up a coaching spot and not pulling his weight. |

A special type of skill to be both so complex that your players can’t learn the offense and yet so simple that the other team knows exactly what you’re doing. ::::::shruggy emoji::::::: |

Michigan rising from the ashes to have the type of season next year that’ll put them in contention for a championship (Big10 or otherwise...). Right now Harbaugh is what, the sixth best coach in the BIG? Behind Urban, Dantonio, Chryst, Franklin and now Frost - all of who we play next year. I wouldn’t bet on any offensive staff changes, either. And instead of reevaluating the offensive playbook I think he will just double down, for better or worse. This game was always going to be meaningless but oh boy that was basically worst case scenario heading into the offseason. This team was so bad that they effectively put Harbaugh on the hot seat within three months. All this while we just watched OSU finish something like 12 out of 13 years with 3 losses or less... |
19 weeks 6 days ago | What the hell? |
6:31 PM EST tipoff? Does no one work anymore?? |
21 weeks 1 min ago | Then |
Harbaugh could have reviewed the play. Not doing so meant he probably did not want to spend a timeout if he didn't think it could be overturned. |
21 weeks 1 day ago | JOK |
Was a fifth year second string QB who has been in the system for three years. I think we can expect him to play better or look glaringly at player recruitment and/or development. |
21 weeks 1 day ago | Confused |
If any criticism is supposed to be mocked with impunity, who is responsible for player development? |
21 weeks 1 day ago | He |
Brought in JOK, who has been on the team under this coaching for three years... |
21 weeks 1 day ago | Thats |
The worst part. Not just QB play that lost the game - defense came up short too. |
21 weeks 3 days ago | Classic mgoblog |
Getting our hopes up over a throw away press conference quote...that turns out to be the wrong quote. Yay! |

All our RPS for this game - all pepcat all day!!!!!!!! |

Speight at the start of the year was not the same as Speight the first 3/4 of last year. There was something still...off...about him. When he left the Purdue game he was 2/4 for 10 yards. JOK came in and did so much better that the scuttlebutt after that game was that JOK was an actual viable quarterback. There was talk during the offseason that JOK closed the gap against Speight, too. People talk about losing our starting QB like he was a Heisman contender. Not all starting QBs are created equal and yes, we lost ours for the season, but he wasn't playing at a very good level to begin with. Everyone wants to say "but look we met our minimum expectations." They plug their ears and close their eyes and become equally as annoying as those on the other side of the spectrum saying Harbaugh should be fired. The reality, IMO, is somewhere in between those extremes. Yes, there are legit reasons why we've played poorly, some of which ARE attributed to Harbaugh's decisions. That doesn't mean he's a terrible coach or should be fired, but it does mean he has some things that need to be changed this offeason. |
22 weeks 2 hours ago | Uhm |
We finished 3rd in our division, lost the bowl game, and were ranked #10 to end the year. I don't think the poster was "mad" about not having a perfect season, but last year was ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ relative to our talent. |
22 weeks 18 hours ago | No rain |
In the forecast. That’s basically our only hope for the weather to be bad enough to turn JT into garbage. |
22 weeks 1 day ago | That’s |
A very dubious claim to hang out hat on but I’ll bite: MSU this year is worse than us. That’s a bad loss. |

Shooting themselves in the foot again. Yeesh. Defense deflated. Special teams playing like shit. And the offense is garbage. |
25 weeks 3 days ago | I thought |
The consensus on Cole two years ago was he was an above average left tackle that struggled against elite pass rushers? This notion of him out of position was not what was discussed at the start of the year... |
