is going to claw their way back just to lose in some gut wrenching fashion in the end.

a hundred "adam weiss" on linkedin who wondered why the hell google searches for their name went up 1000% today.

lindsay Lohan was good but the Walter white was hands down the best of the super bowl, imo
|10 weeks 4 days ago||Really||
hope he does well. Seems like a great kid and deserves much better than what he got here (not just from the coaches, but the fans as well).
Odd to think, though, that out of our past two quarterbacks, one was drafted as a running back and the other will be drafted as wide receiver.

thats not at all what makes Ann Arbor famous. The two events you just mentioned take up a total of like 5 hours per year. And on top of that the naked mile is banned , no?, and hash bash attracts only like 100 people.

brian makes an interesting point that urban wouldnt be attractive to the NFL because of the type of offense he runs. Is this still the case today? Chip Kelly, Russell Wilson, and Colin Kaepernick (and I guess Andrew Luck, RGIII circa 2012, and maybe the future NFL Marcus Mariotta) are showing that the league can move a bit towards spread elements with more mobile QBs.
Look at what he did this year getting a third string QB to play for a national title. Look at Arizona Cardinals, a good team that was garbage after their first string QB went out. Pete Carroll, Chip Kelly, and Jim Harbaugh have dispelled the notion that college coaches can't work out in the NFL - I wonder if a bottom feeder team would take a chance on a guy like Urban Meyer? If i am an NFL GM and my options are some re-tread or Urban Meyer, you would have to at least consider Urban, no?

have close ties to that place. Them firing wannestach was a perfect example of "grass is greener" and now this is what, their 5th coach in 4 years? I think this is a good hire but it's still a barren wasteland over there, and basically has been ever since they moved into Steelers' stadium. It's an nfl town playing college ball in an nfl stadium and there is no school in America that gets less support from their students.

I liked Nuss. Thought he was going to do well here. At the start of the season I argued that between Mattison and Nuss, we had (at the very least) the top3 tandem of coodinators in the conference. Not sure how things went so far south, but that is neither here nor there.
What this just makes official, as if it wasn't already known, we'll have another OC - 3 in 3 years - for our young offense. Hopefullly Harbaugh (if it is Harbaugh) can muster up some quick returns, or we're looking at another season of offensive despair.

has the worst sports broadcast out of all the major outlets, by far. As a soccer fan, it makes me incredibly nervous for the World Cup...

with you but if I recall you are usually one of the biggest rr slappies when his team is winning...
|16 weeks 4 days ago||i tend to agree||
with your assestment a bit more, especially this part:
His best win in 5 years was 8-5 Florida. His 2nd and 3rd best wins were rivalry games vs decent, not great Ole Miss in year 1 and year 5. I cannot find a 4th best win in his first 5 years - it would be between Rice in a bowl and UM in a bowl. So in 64 (including 4 bowls) opportunities in 5 years I am at a loss to find a 4th quality win.
Mullen hasn't beaten anyone, really, and has padded his W/L total with the Troys and Alcorn States of the world. And fine, you want to say he's at the Purdue of the SEC. I get that, but we're not asking him to win the SEC Title Game - I just want to see an upset or two that proves he can get over that hump; merely showing up and losing close doesn't count.

on good authority that about 22 of those loses were due to lack of support. and he should have a full 11 more wins that came the year after he was fired. the adjusted record should be closer to 100 million - 0.

the podcast once it became the audio version of the mgoblog-RR-revisionist history hour.
Okay Ace - Michigan didn't pony up for Casteel - even assuming you're right, the only reasonable option to that was to hire Greg Robinson and force him to run a 3-3-5? Surely there were more than 2 defensive coordinators in the world in 2009. But nope - everything bad that happened to RR was because the amorphous "We" here at Michigan sabotaged his every move.
|17 weeks 2 days ago||Alright Debbie downers.||
Alright Debbie downers. Let's calm down a bit. Going into this game we would all take a tied game at half. The team literally had the worst start you could imagine and then bounced back. Let's wait to see what happens in the second half before we start our bitching

what you want about rich rod but you have to hand it to him -- despite all the challenges he faced here, all the people actively conspiring to ruin his tenure, the fans and alumni who sabotaged his teams on the field, the athletic director who forced him to hire Greg Robinson, the mad scientist who then forced Greg Robinson to run a 3-3-5, despite all that..., the man still has the ability to be the most divisive person in 130+ years of Michigan football.
Congratulations coach! With today's win you are 3-10 against your major rivals since 2007.
|18 weeks 4 days ago||or...||
the opposite. that he knows he's staying and thinks he can leverage this year to get a higher rated kid.
seems to me if your theory was correct, there would be a wink wink nudge nudge bargain with the kid to that affect - and we wouldnt see his coach or his teammates slamming Mullen in the media.
|18 weeks 6 days ago||A lot of people have said||
the Russell bellomy Nebraska game. Odd thing about that game is we were in the drivers seat to goto the big ten championship game - I still think if denard never gets hurt we would be playing in Indy that year. Which would have completly changed the perception of the program - but alas it wasn't meant to be.
|21 weeks 1 day ago||Disagree||
with your assetment re the students. The rest of the stadium was never full, but student section was completely empty the entire game. Empty like 80 rows empty, as opposed to the 10 seats in front of me empty. Thats a mischaracterization to say "an awful lot" of everyone left at halftime. All the students left, most of the crowd stayed until the start of the 4th.
And this after the students marched to fire Brandon, get him fired, and then don't bother to show up to a 3:30 game? Fine. The team sucks. But you're a student. You literally have nothing to do on Saturday but drink.
|21 weeks 2 days ago||Well||
he did tear his ACL in the first game last year.

you talk about your predictions coming true, well, post them. Let's see the links. I want to see the sugar bowl game thread where you say this is going to be Charlie Weiss part two. While you're at it, I want to see the fire rr thread where you predict that any coach will come in and win 11 games the next year including a bcs win.
|21 weeks 4 days ago||I don't know what this means||
but yes I am sure casteel is making more due to soemthing called inflation. Otherwise I have no idea what point you're trying to make. The fact is he took a pay cut to goto arizona. Period.
|21 weeks 4 days ago||If all your predictions have come true||
you should probably start playing the lottery.
|21 weeks 4 days ago||I think||
people are just anti losing , which we've done a lot during the rich rod years and the last two hoke years. But when hoke was winning even this blog had some meme that he pooped gold magic or something.
That's all this is: Winning , losing, and revisionist history.
No one and I mean no one (not even brian) wanted RR back after that gator bowl. And everyone loved the hoke hire after the sugar bowl. Can anyone just recognize that fact?
|21 weeks 4 days ago||Several||
people point out that rich rod was undermined by nefarious sources in the AD because he didn't get administrative support. These people use the DC salary as the #1 example of that "fact."
|21 weeks 4 days ago||Odd||
" NOBODY is going to take a pay cut and then move their family to take a lateral position. Nobody."
I like you mgrowold but maybe you should Check your facts.
Casteel HIMSELF took a pay cut to goto arizona -- which probably wouldn't even be considered a lateral move from WVU. So yeah, you're wrong here.
