deflected

What is really nice about this non-call, is that Lewis (#59) actually deflected the ball and thus knew 100% that it was out of Wilton's hands and released, and then gave the extra "Unecessary" push while Wilton is being tackled.  Fuck Ohio and that entire officiating crew.  I hope the whole crew develops some rare disease that makes them shit on themselves everyday for the rest of thier lives, like they shit all over the Michigan kids on Saturday.

Bad Calls

The ejection was, as many have said, inexcusable, the rule itself sucks as is, but afer replay to say that was targeting when the lineman threw Bolden down into Cook is beyond comprehension.

Henry's personal foul was complete bullshit, not only were people still moving and the play in the process of being blown dead, not blown dead but in the process, but he seemed to land on his fellow Michigan teammates for the most part.  Also, given how the refs were taking thier time blowing the whistle (Sione's TD) and that per Harbaugh via what he said in the post game press conference, the kids were told during the game not to assume that they are going down, it was for lack of a better term BULLSHIT.  **Also on Sione's TD, I think his foward progress was stopped but if the whistle did not blow it really does not matter and on plays where you are not really reviewing whether the runner got into the endzone (it is clear he did not go down to the ground until he was in the endzone) what kind of sense does it make to use slow mo replay, cannot really get a good grip on the discontinuance of forward progress while looking at something that progresses at one frame per hour (in slow motion).  Or at least that is like my opinion man.

Butt's Catch - I thought he caught it, he thought he caught it, Spielmann thought he caught it, the referee closest to the play did not say that Butt didn't catch it, but that muthafuckan ref that I believe just happened to be within ears distance of Mork said it was not a catch. Given all that, on replay it looked as if it might have possibly touched the ground and because of that, it was correct to not be over turned in a sense.  Meaning if it would have been called a catch, like it seemingly would've been if not for that ref that was probably getting ear fucked by Mork, the catch call would've /should've stood on replay too.  This leads right into the sideline incompletion/catch.

The sideline incompletion - I, maybe wrongfully, go by the premise that the ball is not instantaneously "possessed" the moment hand(s) make contact with the exterior of the football, there has to be at least a fraction of a second after touching the football were possession actually begins, or at least that is what logic leads me to believe, with that in mind, the call was called an incompletion on the field, the kid made an outstanding effort to tap/drag his right foot (I believe it was the right) however, I do not know how anyone can indisputably say that after he possessed, not touched but clearly possessed the ball, that foot was still in bounds, it honestly looked out to me.  If it had been called a catch on the field I truly would've had no problem with it standing but the fact that it was called an incompletion, it should have not been overturned.  Unless of course I am wrong and the moment the ball makes contact with the hand(s) possession is assumed, in which case the ball did begin to touch his hand while that tippy toe seemingly was stilll scraping the green, seemingly.

There was a facemask on Rudock's self completion - there was, that is all that is to it, (amazing what is seen and what is not).

Aslo there was no way on the 70+ yard pass to the fullback (C'mon Delano), that he was not in the endzone, I know they scored on the next play but it just shows how fucked up the replay official was some more.

As people have also mentioned in other threads the refs missed an obvious penalty on the last punt for blowing up the LS, that is called and Michigan receives a first down and wins, and there really is no justification for missing it, none.  My nephew who has had to long snap the last 2 weeks for his freshman team since the starter broke his hand, has had some bad snaps and I told him they are not able to hit you on the snap so quit worrying about getting smashed and just get the ball back there.  Maybe the snap was a little low to Blake because the zebras did not know this rule and all game they had been blowing up the LS, so he was worried, I do not know honestly if that is the case, did not pay attention until the replay and others mentioned it, because it is NOT my job to pay attention to that, though it IS the refs job to pay attention to that. **In 2006, there was a similar thing that happened and I think they did not call it then either against Tress and the Tat -eyes. I could be wrong about that though.

It was one of the worst games I have ever been witness to, and I thought that prior to 10 seconds remaining on the clock.  Blake falls on it and they probably win on a missed hail mary attempt, have to say probably becasue I mean we are talking about Mork -

He wins the Rose Bowl, were the Stanford DB's drop multiple pics that hit them between the numbers,

Wins last years Bowl game against Baylor because Baylors D-lineman for some reason unknown to mankind, blocks a MSU lineman, who is over 15 yards behind the fastest LB on D after an interception, in the back as he returns it for a game sealing TD,

Wins against Oregon this year becasue Vernon Adams over throws a WIDE open WR at like the 5 after the MSU DB falls down with a little over a minute remaining in the game,

Wins a tight game against Rutgers, that ends with the Rutgers QB clocking the ball on 4th down.

I think Mork might have actually sold his soul to the Devil, I mean he does look like a soul-less man, no?

With that, I hope Mork has now used up all his credit he seemingly negotiated with Lucifer and that his reign of terror is over.  I believe 2 losses are all that will be there on Michigan's side at the end of the year before the bowl they go to and I believe as long as the black magic has run out for Mork that they will lose to Nebraska (becasue I want that to happen) and O$U (because Mork's deal with Satan is not superior to Liar's*), and if that happens the pain of this game will be in some ways bearbable.

*I wonder if Satan had a deal going on, because it seems like O$U has a 4 leaf clover stuck up thier ass too.

Will Mr. Harbaugh be at the Brook?

I had planned to have my nephew, who will be an incoming freshman next year, go to the "Big House at the Brook" camp here in Illinois on the 6th.  I originally thought Harbaugh would be there, now seeing this camp for the same day not sure about it.  On the Brook flyer, it only mentions "University of Michigan Coaching Staff" and on the ad for this camp, it specifically mentions Harbaugh. The camp at the Brook goes from 12-4 (CST) and this camp from 7-9:30 (EST), that doesn't leave much time for Harbaugh to get to both, although he is Harbaugh and can probably just teleport himself instantaneously from one location to another.

I will probably bring my nephew whether Harbaugh is present or not, but does anyone know whether he will be at the "Big House at the Brook" camp on the 6th in Illinois? Thanks.

Truth be trippin'

As I think everyone on here knows - telling someone who would not be able to get into UM without an Athletic Scholly, that  they would not be able to get into UM without having an Athletic Scholly, is not anywhere close to calling them Stupid.

Believeing that someone who revealed to you that you would not be able to get into UM without having an Athletic Scholly, is calling you stupid - probably means you are stupid.

Sorry, but in the audio track they said all Michigan did was tell them that without the Athletic Scholarship he would not be able to get into UM, I assume this is true given the admissions guidelines at UM, and the fact that GM has no real reason to patently lie about it if it isn't true.

I reserve judgment on the kid, but Pop's seems like an Ass, he talked about how great UM is academically and that football may not be around forever and about how the degree matters, but as soon as the truth about how this option may not be available but for football, it is Logic/Truth be damned, we don't need nobody tellin' us what our realistic options are, we do what we want - WE ARE NOT LACKING FOR CONFIDENCE IN THAT HOUSE!

Just lacking common sense and self-awareness.

Good Luck to him, pops needs to pump the brakes though.

"We Need Morris" I am depressed.

I cannot even read this board anymore without getting deepressed.  I read about how DG should and will be replaced by Morris and I shake my F'n head.  DG is not playing as well as he should and I am sure no one will deny that including Devin, but MFG (My Fucking GOD) the issue is not him.

So many talk about the ND game and seem to say, look at all his turnovers, he played terrible, kept giving the ball to the Irish.  Somewhat valid on its face but was I in an alternate universe?  When I watched, it was 21 - 0 at the end of the 1st half and DG and the Wolverines had not turned the ball over.  His first INT, which looked to me like Hill and DG read the defense differently, led to another 7 points but really after being down 21-0, I almost do not give a fuck, sling the dam ball around and dam the consequences.  21 pts - 2 qtrs to make it up, I cannot confirm this but I would think 95%+ of all teams would lose the game if they had 4 qtrs to make up a 21 point deficit let alone 2.  So acting like Devin lost the ND game is bullshit.

Against Miami (OH) not saying the throw was great, but his pic was tipped at the line then went through Chesson's hands, then was intercepted, it was not a "what the fuck" get him out play.  BTW, Michigan won by 24 pts.

Against Utah, the 2 pics - that sucked and on the 2nd I have no idea who DG was trying to throw to but is DG the real reason shit went to hell and now the sky is falling?

Now I know for the "We Need Morris" crew , against Miami (OH) DG also smacked the replay guy in the eye so he could not see that Darboh's knee touched while the ball was still in possession, and I know that DG also ran out there on the kick return team and called for the ball at the last second making for the fumbled kickoff too.

And For the "Morris Crew" I understand against Utah that DG probably told Funchess before his 1st throw that was picked, "Funch, if you do not catch this with only one hand, I will never throw to you again", I am pretty sure the "Morris gang" have evidence that DG told everyone he was going to be on the punt team then decided he did not want to cover punts (the other 10 players did not seem to want to cover it either), and I know the for "Team Morris" they probably have a video of DG at halftime telling Matti he would be DC but then realized after the Utes went down the field in like 3 plays for a score that he did not want to coordinate anymore.  I understand "Morris Klan", DG is the biggest issue and maybe the only one.  We can all agree "Put in Shane - get rid of the pain".

Now no doubt, his throw looked absolutely terrible on TV and he looked completely frustrated when running to the sideline to discuss what happened with Nuss, but I have to believe the frustration was there becasue of some mis-communication between himself and a receiver because there was not one in the area when shown on the set, and that has to be fixed, but bringing in Shane in is not the way to fix it.  I mean the pic when Shane came in and threw was no better, though a receiver was in the area, he had a defender in front of him and tightly behind, the only thing that could have hit the reciever was a magic bullet fired by Oswald.

Does Devin have to do better? - Yes.

Does Devin deserve better? - YES.

I like Shane and I hope he will do well when his time comes, that time should not be now though.  I have thought Hoke would right the ship from day 1, but if he starts Morris in my opinion he is no longer the man for the job for he does not realize the issues that are truly at hand, like so many others.

Then again maybe my depression due more to the things on this blog then anything else, has me in no mental state to have an opinion on anything.

No matter who is in there though -

Not controversial at all

It was the right call - on replay that is clear.

Usually on replay when I see the "charge' calls, I almost always see a lean or slight movement that I did not notice in real time making me honestly question the call.  The "charge" in last years Cuse game for instance, in real time thought it was a clear charge, on replay thought it was much closer and could understand any debate - here I am sorry but I don'tt think it is even close.

In this instance, now maybe I am wearing my "Go Blue" glasses, the replay more than confirmed that Morgan was completely set did not lean and just got ran over.  Also, as mentioned in a different thread, had they let it go Levert had a clean steal  - the ball stayed in bounds - actually after seeing that Levert had the steal, I wished they would not have called the charge, because of the inbounding troubles Michigan was having.

The only thing that would've been controversial is a block call in that situation given what the replay showed.  Overall the refs sucked,  Michigan got away with a few things, but if anyone thinks that the refs did not  have any fingerprints on Tenn's "comeback", all that they are doing is trading my "Go Blue" glasses for thier "Tennessee Orange" glasses.

"He doesn't use his hands" - Really guys Really

I had to turn the game off until I knew the outcome after Harlan, Anthony and Kerr, went on thier minute and a half Craft "The Hack" love fest, talking about how he is so good because "he doesn't use his hands" and is so strong with his lower body - GTFO - never seen anybody who should get called for more fouls than him.

I am just glad I will not have to see him in B1G play anymore, because there is nothing more frustrating than to hear "experts" talk about how he does not use his hands and doesn't foul, while on the screen you are watching him either literally tackle a guy OR more frequently - have both his arms extended and hands on the offensive player, impeding the offensive players progress. I mean the kid should foul out of pick-up games.

Good luck to him after the tourney is over, but I am so glad he's gone -

Well Actually

PSU  40-43 (but a multiple Overtime game, so 1 point more in regulation and its is a W)

NEB 13-17 (5)

Iowa 21-24 (4)

them 41-42 (2)

So I'd argue 12 pts but who's counting.

Biggest problem

According to the numerous experts on here and Mlive, and freep, the biggest problem seems to be Devin and his terrible decision making.

I wish he wouldn't have decided to throw that first ball high to an open Gallon, bad decision there, he was open you probably shouldn't have decided to throw it high off his hands, I also wish he wouldn't have decided to throw that ball to Chesson, I mean every QB that has ever thought "if they're even, they're open" when thier WR has 2-3 inches on the DB covering them has been wrong, I hated when Henne always did that with Braylon, God his decision making sucked a lot, glad that guy graduated, most of all I wish he wouldn't have decided on the sneak, to have big ol' Magnuson get his big ass thrown back into him while Kerridge was coming up behind him to punch the ball out, why did he decide to have Kerridge punch the ball out, I think he should have probably just told him not to do that, think it might have been a decision that worked out better.

GTFOH

Look - against Akron he did make some bad decisions, bad reads, bad throws, and was careless with the football, in the Uconn game if you want to bitch about his execution that is a legitimate discussion but everyone who keeps saying his decsion making was terrible, makes me scratch my head, the ball  to Gallon was high, it was early in the game, he had the blood pumping and often with Many Qbs, many Professional Qbs, this happens, it was not a good throw, could've been caught and I think Gallon probably thinks it's a catch he has made before, but the decision to throw the ball was not a bad one.  I like the decision to throw to Chesson, that is why so many people have been saying they need these big receivers because when they are even - they are open against the smaller DB's, the same people that have been saying for weeks Chesson never gets the ball thrown to him and we need to get it to him are probably the ones now saying - bad decision to throw to Chesson,  on the sneak - yes, the ball needs to be secured but, it was not like he was carelessly stretching out holding it away from his body, Kerridge came up and literally punched the ball out from there, obviously not on purpose but, that is not on Devin, dam near anyone would've lost that ball in that situation,  And yes I get extremely nervous with the way Devin holds the ball many times on runs loosely and so far from his body but, to date unless I'm mistaken, that has not turned into a TO, the lost ball against Akron was on an option and with that play you do not tuck when you're hitting the corner deciding in fractions of seconds whether you are going to pitch or not.

All of this to agree that the line is the biggest concern, specifically Miller, he has been terrible and must be replaced or must learn through the bye week to be a center that can block, the snap is important but, the blocking portion is kind of a big deal too.  I do not think it would be a bad idea either if they tried a little more to have the identity they say they want to have, not knocking Borges per se but, I think the line might be a little confused, seems like they still want to be a hybrid by choice not by necessity, I know they have not shown they can be a smashmouth power football team consistently or at all but, sometimes you have to believe in what you believe in, tell them they were brought here to be road graders and demand they be that.  It is very possible I am wrong but, it seems to me there have been moments, though few and far between, when Borges has decided that it will be power football and the mindset has worked, I could be wrong but maybe they are not that good at it because they do not focus on it enough? I probably am wrong though, sure it is all the fault of Devin's terrible decision making.

Jack Miller

This is so true, sorry but he has been absolutely terrible, the last 2 games.  I'll admit I did not watch the center spot closely against ND but I have the last games and the coaches have to replace Miller or do some extreme coaching through the bye week.  I am actually beside myself after what the coaches had to have seen last week, that he was in there to start tonight.   Miller cannot get any movement, cannot even get a stalemate with any nose they put on him - he is blown back off the LOS on every play, looks like he has never executed a successful cut in his life, often puts his head down and completely whiffs on the defender, I'm sorry but he is terrible right now, they have to have a better option there. I know you want that chemistry and cohesiveness with your line but, Miller has not shown that he can do the job he needs to.

I hope if they fix it one way or another -

They were awful but won

Miller was awful and getting blown up all day, Schofield played like shit too, there should have been a PI call on Lewis that was missed, (would have gave Akron a 1st and Goal, I believe), Devin Played terrible, I do not like how he seemed to lose his confidence and I almost lost it on one of the first drives when he frantically tried to avoid a sack and carlessly threw it, reminding me of the ND pick 6, and all around the defense was poor.

Now I thought I saw a lot of faces getting a lot of time that I did not see so much last Sat especially in the back 7 - was that a coaching decision based on the Akron spread O, was it to get players PT that almost bit UM in the ass or am I wrong and just did not notice last week because a terrible ND team did not expose it like the powerful Zips?????

That was a good PI call against Akron on Butt, hand was wrapped and riding - ref was in good position.

I am so very disappointed in the performance but they did live to fight another day had they lost it definitely would have been the death of me.

One thing I will say and no one can change my mind on this, is that if that completely terrible, Bullshit, insanely bad, holding penalty is NOT called on Butt in the 2nd Qtr where Fitz ran it down to inside the 2 yd line, a couple plays before Devin turned over the ball on the option, UM goes up 14 -3 most likely, Devin probably does not start the TO fest, and everyone on here including me is not losing thier Shit because they win rather easily. Butt came off the ball, turned the defender with a good punch to his outside shoulder then after the zip turned his back rammed him into the ground, the call was BULLSHIT. However, I do not care how many bullshit calls there are, you overcome those and still win easily and not like this, when you are Michigan and they are Akron.

But Thank Goodness they were able to win it, next week if UCONN does not get blasted then Michigan is truly not ready, nor that good, but if they come out and smack them then we can maybe start to believe today just was not thier day and write it off as a fluke, Oh how I hope a fluke is the case.

In the minority with you

Do not want to get into a big to do about what happened at Penn State but I just have a feeling that most of those who are so anti-PSU either got all their info from ESPiN or the "fact-Freeh" report and if they did get it from the "fact-Freeh" report they did not read that report closely or acknowledge that the report was basically all conjecture and full of unsupported conclusions.  The King & Spaulding report is something many probably never touched either and for those that seem so passionate with the hate, I just feel they should probably take time to see if it is warranted or rather take the time to get the facts straight, so they can direct at the correct people / group.

WTF

I agree, what the f*@! - I had to check the browser address to make sure I am on the correct site.  Urban is a slime ball & I do not not see how this can make people act like he did what needed to be done, if not more.  Hyde smacked the girl plain and simple, pressing charges or not does not make any difference, so to say a 3 game suspension is about right or too much, makes me just wonder if I'm the f'n idiot.

Know this, I would bet my life that had OSU been playing Bama in the first game, good ol' Urb wouldn't have did anything but said he sat down and had a bible study with Hyde and now everything is fine and dandy.

Is this 11W?
