I'm VERY surprised that no one seems at all concerned about the defensive backfield. Four new starters, only one of which (Kinnel) has seen any real time on the field, and everyone's fine with this situation?
I'm having visions (read: nightmares) of 75 yard pass plays becoming an all-too familiar sight next season.

I agree with the OP on all those ass-hats but it would have been even sweeter if that scumbag Calipari had lost as well.

That quote from Beilein was his version of a Mike Leach-like tirade against bogus officiating.

Just ask them how they feel about the ethics of Rick Pitino running an escort service as a recruiting tool.
I'm picturing a lot of very long pauses.

I wonder if he got T'd up for that outburst, since having an emotional reaction on the sideline is T worthy in basketball; just ask that ref in the OSU-UM football game this past November.

I still laugh everytime I see this play. Pretty much a one-play synopsis of De'Veon Smith's career as a RB.

Another thumbs up for Frailty.
A terribly underappreciated movie IMO. Paxton, McConaughey and Powers Boothe all gave really nice performances.
RIP, Private Hudson

Those are the first freshman highlights I have ever bothered to watch.
Sweet Holy Moses that kid's arm is amazing. Even if he was a Navarre-esque statue I would want that kid slinging the rock for UM. Add in his "physical intangibles" and...just...WOW!
Now I am going to be REALLY disappointed if he doesn't end up at UM. Only 2 more years until his signing day, right?

Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware that he took an official to UM this weekend.

What was the hold up on his NLOI? Was he slow playing UM?!?
Seriously, though, anyone know why his LOI came in several days "late"?
(I know that "Signing Day" is really just the earliest a player can sign, but it's hard to imagine a punter would need several days to make a decision between Nevada and UM.)

No MGoBlog post is complete without the doom-n-gloomers chanting their football equivalent of the "End is HERE!''.
And, lo, there was much wailing and gnasing of teeth with sackcloth and ashes. Michigan will be fine especially after having 10+ picks in the upcoming NFL draft.

Way to harsh my Signing Day 2017 buzz, man.
Seriously, that 2013 class...woof! Only 3 big impact players and 8 moderate contributors (at Michigan). Bleah.

I've seen multiple references to the punter as "The #1 punter in the country" but 247 composite has him as #13. Where are people getting this #1 stuff?

I think that OSU's insane class this year was fueled by their crazy NFL draft from last year (5 first round picks, 12 overall). It seems like recruits respond to NFL draft success even more than National Championships.
Michigan is expected to have a pretty deep NFL draft class this year (although not as many first round picks as OSU had last season). If UM has 10-12 players drafted in the upcoming draft, I think UM could see an even better class in 2018 than we just saw for 2017.

The sad part is that UGA used to be the SEC school that I kind of liked...now, with Smart as HC, not so much.
I'm not a fan of accusing teams of paying players, but man, it sure seems like UGA has begun doing just that. What is odd, is that it appears that Smart is specifically targeting UM leans (Wilson and Collins) for the "green carpet" treatment. Does he have some sort of past beef with Harbaugh?
|9 weeks 1 day ago||Freudian slip?||
Brian has Nico Collins listed as GA WR Nico Collins. Collins is from Alabama.
I saw elsewhere in the thread that there is no some chatter about how Eason has been trying to get Nico to UGA for 2 years. This sounds quite a bit like the "Isaiah Wilson has been a UGA fan his whole life!!!!" story as reasoning for his surprise commitment to UGA even though there was never any mention by Wilson of an affinity for UGA during his recruitment. I think the UGA bagmen need to come up with some more variety in their cover stories.

I am disappoint.

I have no expectations whatsoever of UM winning the Big 10 in 2017. Of course, I had no expectations of Penn State winning it in 2016.
I'm not saying...I'm just saying.

Personally, I am relieved.
UM has never been a big player in Tufele's recruitment. For a long time he was thought to be an OSU lean, so I am pleased as punch that he is probably going to end up staying home at Utah.
|10 weeks 13 hours ago||I think he is just making an||
I think he is just making an allusion to Harbaugh's love of milk as in Harbaugh ordered all the milk in the restaurant on his recent visit. This coach has shown himself to be a big advocate for Michigan so it is unlikely that he is trying to troll UM fans.
|10 weeks 13 hours ago||It took me a few years to get||
It took me a few years to get to his happy place re: recruiting but it is SO much more enjoyable when you can observe it all with a sanity-maintaining level of detachment.
I can still recall the recruit that was my tipping point: Bryce McNeal, a WR from Minnesota who was committed and then decommited to go to Clemson. I was LIVID; taking it as if he had done this to personally upset me. Then I "saw the light" and realized that none of this shit matters at all.
By the way, I don't usually follow the college careers of players who don't end up at UM but I did in McNeal's case for obvious reasons. He didn't do squat at Clemson. I take no pleasure in making that statement but it just confirmed for me how meaningless all these STARZ!!! are when it comes to projecting the potential of HS football players.
|10 weeks 2 days ago||I believe that UM did not||
I believe that UM did not "pass" on Burbridge in the usual sense. He was a borderline guy academically and there was a very real chance that he would not qualify. I think MSU only found out that he did qualify in the summer before he enrolled.

|11 weeks 3 days ago||Urban Meyer IS a better coach||
Urban Meyer IS a better coach than Nick Saban IMO. He won big at BGSU and Utah (went 12-0 there) without the benefit of a massive talent advantage over his opponents.
Unfortunately, I believe Meyer is probably the best college head coach in the game today. Even Harbaugh is going to have a tough time getting UM back even with OSU as long as Meyer is there.
|11 weeks 3 days ago||Because he has more NFL||
Because he has more NFL talent than anyone (even OSU or USC under Cheatin Pete) and a salary cap only slightly lower than most NFL teams.
Buying great talent doesn't make someone an elite coach.
|11 weeks 3 days ago||For the record, I do NOT||
For the record, I do NOT consider Harbaugh elite for precisely the reasons you have stated. He hasn't accomplished enough at the college level to consider him an elite college coach. I still think he is probably about as good as Saban, though.
Take the top ten college coaches in the game today and I contend that they could do just as much (in some cases possibly more) as Saban has with the massive talent advantage Saban has enjoyed at Bama.
