It's been 2.5 hours and no one has replied with "That's what she said!"?
I am disappoint.
|2 days 13 hours ago||I have no expectations||
I have no expectations whatsoever of UM winning the Big 10 in 2017. Of course, I had no expectations of Penn State winning it in 2016.
I'm not saying...I'm just saying.

Personally, I am relieved.
UM has never been a big player in Tufele's recruitment. For a long time he was thought to be an OSU lean, so I am pleased as punch that he is probably going to end up staying home at Utah.
|4 days 14 hours ago||I think he is just making an||
I think he is just making an allusion to Harbaugh's love of milk as in Harbaugh ordered all the milk in the restaurant on his recent visit. This coach has shown himself to be a big advocate for Michigan so it is unlikely that he is trying to troll UM fans.
|4 days 14 hours ago||It took me a few years to get||
It took me a few years to get to his happy place re: recruiting but it is SO much more enjoyable when you can observe it all with a sanity-maintaining level of detachment.
I can still recall the recruit that was my tipping point: Bryce McNeal, a WR from Minnesota who was committed and then decommited to go to Clemson. I was LIVID; taking it as if he had done this to personally upset me. Then I "saw the light" and realized that none of this shit matters at all.
By the way, I don't usually follow the college careers of players who don't end up at UM but I did in McNeal's case for obvious reasons. He didn't do squat at Clemson. I take no pleasure in making that statement but it just confirmed for me how meaningless all these STARZ!!! are when it comes to projecting the potential of HS football players.

I believe that UM did not "pass" on Burbridge in the usual sense. He was a borderline guy academically and there was a very real chance that he would not qualify. I think MSU only found out that he did qualify in the summer before he enrolled.

|2 weeks 18 hours ago||Urban Meyer IS a better coach||
Urban Meyer IS a better coach than Nick Saban IMO. He won big at BGSU and Utah (went 12-0 there) without the benefit of a massive talent advantage over his opponents.
Unfortunately, I believe Meyer is probably the best college head coach in the game today. Even Harbaugh is going to have a tough time getting UM back even with OSU as long as Meyer is there.
|2 weeks 18 hours ago||Because he has more NFL||
Because he has more NFL talent than anyone (even OSU or USC under Cheatin Pete) and a salary cap only slightly lower than most NFL teams.
Buying great talent doesn't make someone an elite coach.
|2 weeks 18 hours ago||For the record, I do NOT||
For the record, I do NOT consider Harbaugh elite for precisely the reasons you have stated. He hasn't accomplished enough at the college level to consider him an elite college coach. I still think he is probably about as good as Saban, though.
Take the top ten college coaches in the game today and I contend that they could do just as much (in some cases possibly more) as Saban has with the massive talent advantage Saban has enjoyed at Bama.
|2 weeks 18 hours ago||I did not include in my post||
I did not include in my post (but I probably should have done), that I am a firm believer that Saban/Bama has been cheating like mo'fos in the area of recruiting during his entire tenure.
Therefore, I tend to discount his recruiting accomplishments. I think any good coach could win numerous national titles with the talent Alabama has purchased under Saban.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Hmmm.... If true, I may||
If true, I may actually start giving some credence to the jokes about bagment/other dirty recruiting tactics as that would be a 2nd longtime UM lean (nearly "locks" by most accounts) who ends up at UGA whose team kind of sucked this year.

I can't find the quote I read over on 24/7, but I recall reading Isaiah Hole posting the following re: Najee Harris in a thread just a few days ago:
I hear he (Harris) is a big fan of the Dharma Initiative.
For those who don't know or don't remember, the Dharma Initiative was the group that was frequently referenced on the TV show, Lost. The DI was supposed to have been established in Ann Arbor, MI.
I think the inference is pretty clear, no?
Obvious cautionary note: 'CROOTIN!

I stil cannot believe that the B1G office did not at least offer some acknowledgement that the officials screwed the hell out of UM in The Game.
I didn't get to see the game live, after I saw the myriad OBVIOUS penalties that OSU got away with, I was left just shaking my head in disbelief that they actually got away with this fraud.
This game has caused me to question whether I still want to follow CFB closely anymore. It just seems like the cheaters (Bama, Clemson, OSU, etc.) always flourish and it pisses me off.

I don't care whether Najee is good at football or not, I simply HAVE to have a person under the age of 30 who does NOT have a Twitter account on our team.
My respect for this young man just quintupled.

Meyer is in the playoffs THIS year due to gross incompentence/homer-ish bias/payoffs of officials in The Game. They wouldn't have gotten in at 10-2.
However, your point is understood and agreed with.

I want to point out that I am not bitter about Wilson's decision at all. He made the decision that was right for him.
However, the one thing I don't understand about the recently espoused "Georgia was his favorite school growing up" narrative is why Georgia wasn't really prominent in his recruitment from the start. Why was UM the leader for his services for so long if he was a diehard Georiga fan?
(Insert the guy shrugging his shoulders thingy.)
|5 weeks 3 days ago||Honest question: How much||
Honest question: How much does a coaching staff really impact any player's chance of getting to the NFL?
I often read stuff about OSU and Bama "putting" so many guys to the NFL but can't help but wonder if Purdue/Wake Forest/Oregon State(etc.) wouldn't be "putting" a bunch of guys to the NFL if they consitently landed the same caliber of recruits that OSU and Bama seem to get year after year.
Did OSU/Bama make all those guys into 1st round picks last year or was it a case of just being fortunate enough to land so much elite talent that all the coaches have to do is not f*ck up really badly (see: Hoke and his staff)?
I'd be interested to hear the opinions of those on the board who are involved in coaching as to the impact a coaching staff can have on a player's development.

Conley and Lattimore are aware that they are not allowed to tackle receivers BEFORE the WR catches the ball in the NFL, right?
They might be in for a bit of shock.
|6 weeks 1 day ago||Like the OP states, losing||
Like the OP states, losing Coombs is pretty big deal as far as recruiting goes. I think he was the guy who got Damon Webb out of Cass Tech and opened the door to UM's pipeline school for OSU.
|7 weeks 7 hours ago||Has the OP already forgotten||
Has the OP already forgotten how much the officials f*cked Michigan in the OSU game? The zebras are the reason UM didn't get to play for a Big 10 title and a shot at CFP berth.
I did not see the game live, so I had to rely on the clips that were available. When I saw Darboh get dragged to the ground with no call, and Mike Weber and his bush league cheap shot not get called, and Grant Perry get bear hugged and...well, you get the point.
I still cannot believe that the Big 10 has not issued an apology to UM for how badly they were screwed by the refs nor have they disciplined/fired said refs.
|7 weeks 2 days ago||If he was a visitor this past||
If he was a visitor this past weekend, he probably thought to himself, "DAMN, there is no way OSU can EVER lose a game at home with this kind of officiating!!!"
By the by, I knew that OSU had a pretty good record in games decided by a TD or less under Meyer but I finally checked out the full figures: OSU has been involved in 20 games decided by a TD or less under Meyer (5 seaons) and is 17-3 in those games. Yes, OSU has great players and, yes, Meyer is a great coach but at some point you have to cock an eyebrow at a team who wins 85% of their close games.
