I think VT did

I think VT did dominate several statistical categories, however, they had sloppy mistakes and couldn't capitalize in the red zone. Let's credit most of the non-action in the red zone to the Michigan D-Line which played one hell of game.  Oh, Michigan DID capitalize on VT's mistakes.  Overall it was not Michigan's premier game, but the O executed when they needed to (Gibbons was flawless and Denard/Hemingway chemistry paid off), the D stepped up when they needed to (minus a couple of ugly 3rd down breakdowns), and our Special Teams dominated.  This equals an Michigan WIN! Put it in the books, 11-2.

Go Blue!!!

Can I get a "Crank Yankers" yeeeeeaaaaahhh?!? Can I get a "Crank Yankers" yeeeeeaaaaahhh?!?

Glass half full...

I say 31 UM - 17 Sparty

Go Blue!!!

No way I can pick on this

No way I can pick on this one...Either result will end with a smile:)

I thought the piped music

brought an extreme energy to the crowd.  I saw the older fans attempting to chant to the newer music and the younger fans (pre-teens) trying to keep up with the classics.  ALL fans were IN FOR MICHIGAN!

Historical crowd...

Definitely one of the best games I have attended and by far THE BEST crowd atmosphere I have ever witnessed!

If any of the recruits at the game were "on the fence," I think we now know where they stand!

So fortunate to have attended!

Wish all fans could

Wish all fans could maintain your poise! Good luck next week!

My dad...

I guess it's okay to like a Buckeye in this case.  See, I live in Ohio, but when anyone says "your dad has the right colors on, what happened to you?" I just reply, "I've always been smarter than my father."

Go Blue!

Mike Hart's first coaching lesson...

TAKE CARE OF THE BALL!

1 day, 3 hours and 15 minutes...Go Blue!

Gotta stay positive...

This is the team that we have all loved since we were tots.  They are still The Wolverines, still The Maize and Blue, still the proud owners of The Winged helmets.  I agree that there are areas that need major improvements, but while there are still games to be played, the ENTIRE program deserves our support up until the very last snap in the very last game of the season.

Keep looking on the bright side!  Go Blue!

It was great

It was great to see the TEAM pull together and get the W for Michigan.  Rich Rod is responsible for all of these kids and he kept their heads in the game up until the last play.  Let's hope they keep playing hard, learn from their mistakes, and hope Rich Rod pulls out a few Aces in the next 3 games!  Go Blue!

Demens

It is nice to see Demens getting some props from Roh.  He has been a playmaker!

I recall a White Out/House in 2006...

The same year that Alan Branch took out 2 PSU QBs.  I believe it was an 8 o'clock game too!

BTW, I have posted about the Alan Branch hits before, but it was worth mentioning again :)

My 2 cents, if I may...

1) OH recruits worth mentioning (08-10): Avery, Talbott (Terrance & Terry), Black, Pace, J. Robinson, Fitz Toussaint, Shaw, Roundtree, Moore, Koger, Mealer, Omameh. We have 3 locked in for 2011 so far and 6 on the watchlist for 2012. RR has focused more on Ohio than Carr in his final years with the program.  It's not where it used to be, the #s are moving in the right direction. As far as not recruiting because we run the spread? Well, I'll just say Denard (Florida), Tate (Cali), Devin (Michigan).

2) OSU's "rise to elite" status will come to an end...Any true fan on either side of the rivalry KNOWS that the what goes up, most come down.  This rivalry has teeter-tottered since the beginning of time.  Yes, the 6 in a row is disheartening, but the streak will come to an end soon...BTW, I am not calling when.

3) Violation chatter will come to a halt too.  The NCAA counsel will let us know what punishments Michigan will endure from being thrown into the lime light from comitting what every other school has most likely been guilty of during their practices (not that it is right though).  As far as negative publicity, every school gets a dose, who was #13 again?  Charged with falsification on a police report, aggravated robbery, 4 counts of robbery.  Oh, when he was caught, he was wearing a bullet proof vest, had a loaded rifle, and 3 hand guns on hand, a half full bottle of vodka, and a cd of children's songs recorded by Ohio prision inmates.  We all get a bad seed or two, but you had to bring up neg publicity...

BOTTOM LINE...your post has no merit!

Let's not panic!

Rich Rod will have this under control.  He will have his starters out there based on their capabilities AND hard work ethic during practice.  If UMass puts up one hell of a fight, the 1st & 2nd stringers stay in (we have 2nd stringers this year!!!) and if we pull ahead early, like we should, we should see some great play out of Tate and/or Devin, maybe some more Hopkins, along with T-Rob, and some additional rotation in the secondary.

I think this team has too much fire in its belly to let up now!

Go Blue!

This is about all of the artistic talent I have...

:)

Happy trails...Wish you the best Vlad!

Go Blue!

I agree Topher...

Agreed. Tate is a 19 year old kid who started the ENTIRE 2009 season.  He had his magic carpet ripped from beneath his feet, whether it was the spectacular improvements of Denard or the exceptional efforts of Freshman Devin.

The network should have focused on the GAME, not Tate.  However, TF should not take the publicity to heart...He should know that each player''s realm on the field will be determined by their individual efforts.  Let the Forc"ier" be with you Tate!  May you rise to occassion! Be a TEAM player, whether its you, Denard, or Devin leading the mightly Wolverines to a Victory!!!!  We support you all!

Go Blue!

Give the "kid" a break...

I agree that he should have been on his feet "hootin' and hollerin'" for/with his team, BUT remember he is what, 19 years old and the 2009 starting QB at MICHIGAN?  I am sure it was tough to see DG replace DR and not to get any playing time in the 4th quarter.  HOWEVER, let's give the kid a chance to respond...

This is a huge learning curve for Tate.  Let him soak in this first non-start and non-PT game and who knows, he may become our biggest leader whether he's on the field or not!  Once he sorts through his emotions, he will have the opportunity to emerge as a true leader!

Go Blue!

3:30pm is almost here...

Let's Go Blue!!!!!

In Rod we trust...

At least I do!

Go Blue!

Braylon...

What was Braylon Edward's vertical again?  May there be a standout receiver(s) this season!

9-4

9-4

God Bless Brock...

May his dedication and hard work to what seemed like a "far-fetched" goal be an inspiration to EVERYONE that has a dream that is "out of reach."

I look forward to see him lead our 2010 Wolverines out on the field Sept. 4th.

God Bless ya Brock!  You give hope to us all!

I repeat ijohnb's question...

Will the conference record or divisional record determine who goes to the BTC Game?

Quick question, is it for sure that...

Is it for sure that non-divisional and non-conference games hold no bearing as to who goes to The Big Ten Championship Game?  Not even in a tie-breaking scenario?

My First Post...

I enjoy reading up on mgoblog, but have never chimed in; however, in this case, 2006 was THE YEAR of big hits.  My most memorable was Alan Branch's (2) huge bear hug tackles that took out PSU's 1st & 2nd string QBs.  Can't wait to see who our standouts will be this year!
