Kenyon football and Michigan grad school alumnus here! Chris Creighton has worked his way up the coaching ladder, and he is the kind of guy would value a chance to coach in FBS. While I am surprised that Curtis Blackwell wasn't in the mix given his work with Sound Mind, Sound Body, I think that this is a great hire. Creighton understands how to win with less talent, and that gives him a chance to be really good at EMU. We'll see how this works out.

We have been really bad in the Special Teams FEI in the last few years.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||It couldn't happen to a nicer coach!||
Eat that, Saban! Now, if MSU can beat OSU, and Auburn loses next week, we could have a title game without the SEC and OSU.

This is not pretty, and the same standard should be applied to him as was applied ot Rich Rod. Borges and Funk should be gone, minimum.

I don't remember seeing Taco Charlton on the field. Has anyone seen him get in today?

I am a little surprised and bummed that Rutgers is not on the list, because they will be joining the conference shortly. Maryland, JHU and Cornell should be really good learning experiences, and they can hopefully start to win a few more of the close games than they did this year. I would imagine that we are another couple of years out from being deep enough to be competitive against really good teams, but this ship is headed in the right direction.

I am heading down to watch them play Yale at 1 pm on Saturday to get me ready for the Michigan-Northwestern game. The starting QB completed his first 29 passes against Cornell a few weeks ago, and their OC is the anti-Borges. They spread it out, and are completely undpredictable.

Was he hurt, or did he break team rules again?

Motor City Bowl here we come.
|5 weeks 3 days ago||This field position is brutal||
Let's hope we can flip a field here sometime in the first half.

Given how poorly they are playing today, I would be surprised if they can get to six wins.

Our chances would be minimal, but I would love to play Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M or Oklahoma. Part of the fun for me in bowls is to see Michigan play another power that we haven't met in a while. To be perfectly honest, given how young the team is, it would be a good learning experience to play one of the above.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||Thanks.||
I was kind of hoping that Michigan would make it back to Rutgers this year, since they are both going to be in the same conference in the near future. My fellow Michigan alumni filled up the stands a few years ago, and I hope that we can have that opportunity this spring. Given that the coach has been willing to schedule top-level teams, I would also love to see the team try to schedule Princeton in the future.

The fans in Lincoln have to be apoplectic right now.

I feel better prepared to absorb the UFRs now.
|8 weeks 3 days ago||Is Dileo injured?||
I have not seen him on offense, and it looked like a backup was in holding.
|9 weeks 3 days ago||The only way to beat Jake Ryan is to hold||
That was a blatant no call.

Devin needs work on play-action, and I would rather see him make quick reads. Also, let's see the option, and pistol, again.

Is there any non-torrent video?
|10 weeks 3 days ago||Let's set the tone on the first drive||
If we can march and score a TD, then maybe Minnesota has to start opening up a little bit. I am not thrilled with the performance in the first half, but we are ahead and have the ball to start. The first drive of the game was just what the doctor ordered, and hopefully we can pick it up a little in the second stanza. Let's go blue!
|10 weeks 3 days ago||We probably need to have a spy on the QB||
This guy is really good, so we should have someone account for him. Our defense has to be exhausted right now. Hopefully, the offense can pound and score a TD.
|11 weeks 1 day ago||the rumor on the texas boards is a different AD||
Oliver Luck from WVU. He is a Texas guy, so this would make a lot of sense.
|11 weeks 3 days ago||A few coaches who would be interesting||
Art Briles at Baylor (I think most Texas fans want him to coach and Brown to be let go),
Chris Peterson at Boise State (Maybe, it is time for him to throw his hat into the ring?),
Gary Patterson at TCU (This guys deserves a bigger gig).
|12 weeks 3 days ago||Here is one.||
With Courtney Avery back in the fold, will Countess stay outside?
|12 weeks 3 days ago||Some thoughts on the offense||
1. Devin needs to learn to throw the ball away when there is pressure and his first read is not open. The 10 yard losses just kill any momentum that offense has going, and it might make sense to go to a quicker, 3-step drop passing game for him with Gallon, Dileo and Funchess running combination routes from a stack. I would also ditch the waggle or any play that causes Devin to actually turn his back to the D. Simplify the game for him.
2. I'd like to see more of Funchess and Butt in the short-to-intermediate passing game.
3. Chesson is a joy to watch as a blocker, and I love that they are starting to target him.
4. I like that Borges has a package with 3 OT, because that might allow us to be a decent off-tackle team by the end of the year. MSU has a 300-pound 3rd OT that smoked ND continually, and, given our youth and lack of push on hte interior, this might be a decent option.
5. Fitz really impressed me tonight, and I simply cannot believe how quickly and well he has recovered from his horrific injury. It is a testatment to him and the training staff at Michigan.
6. The break comes at a good time, and I think that Chris Bryant should get a very long look at LG this week. If Glasgow can even be passable at center, this seems like a sensible option given how easilly Miller has been mauled this year. Kugler will put on the requisite weight this offseason, and he should be our center starting next year.
|12 weeks 3 days ago||It was good to see Courtney Avery back out there||
He is a good slot guy, and his presence should allow Countess to play outside later this year. Bolden looks lost in pass coverage (I think that he is best in the Middle), and Mario made some hay from the DE position. This unit played pretty well overall, and now we will get to see how they handle a mobile QB, as Minny has a pretty good one. I would think that it will be a big test for our linebacking crew, and James Ross III could be a key in two weeks.
|14 weeks 2 days ago||I'd vote for Minny||
Given that we will be losing the Little Brown Jug game annually with our new division allignments, I would chose next year to honor the history of this great series. For wow factor, Penn State would probably be the best one on that schedule.
|14 weeks 3 days ago||I just have to say this about Jehu Chesson||
That dude can roll! His block was a thing of beauty, and I hope we target him once in the next week.
|15 weeks 1 day ago||Give it to QWash||
He would not look out of place in 98, and he's earned a little respect. My second choice would be James Ross.
