He's from my town!!!!

In my evaluation, I give him four "LIGBs" which are sort of like stars, but more long-winded.

Here's an excerpt from my personal scouting report:

Hayes is a quick, gliding running back with a lot of natural ability. Has just adequate size but runs harder than listed measurables and his quick-twitched athleticism allows him to run with deceptive strength. Flashes great elusiveness and suddenness through the hole and second level. Sees the field well and redirects through the small creases sharply. Can stop-start and make tight cuts showing great balance and body control. A great jump-cutter who consistently makes the first guy miss but will also stick his foot in the ground and get north; elusive but a decisive runner as well. Lowers the shoulder on contact and runs through a lot of arm-tackles. Feet and body never stop on contact allowing him to spin out of a lot of arm tackles. Very slippery and does not give defenders a clean shot. Polished hands and receiving skills out of the backfield add to his upside, however, he projects to be more of a change-of-pace, multi-purpose type of back at the major college level; at least until he fills out his frame and gains more downhill power. Has good top-end speed and an extra gear to separate when he turns the corner but does appear quicker than fast at times. That said, Hayes has big-play potential with his initial burst and ability to reach top-speed extremely quick. Would make an ideal space-player in a spread offense at the next level; could develop into a great weapon if used creatively.

Little known Linda (in Grand

Little known Linda (in Grand Blanc) fact:

While I was in high school, I once went on a blind date with Tom Hammond.  Believe it or not, he's even creepier at a drive-in than he is in the announcing booth.

I love THE_KNOWLEDGE because it is the only entity as knowledgeable about Michigan football as Linda (in Grand Blanc).  It only makes sense that I become its protege (and eventually, its friend).

Beautiful!  Let's all listen.

Whoever negged me is about to

Whoever negged me is about to get BOOM, LINDA'D(!) where "BOOM" equals Linda calling your home phone with the regularity at which she called Stoney and Wojo.

YOU SAY CONVENIENT, I SAY IT

YOU SAY CONVENIENT, I SAY IT CUTS OFF RIGHT BEFORE I ASKED A CRITICAL QUESTION.  I always, ALWAYS tell Sam, "Sam, you need to feature me more on your podcasts because we have such a fine rapport and engage in such informative banter."  He always agrees, but I think he forgets or that the editing people have something against me.

Steve Yzerman is building a winner in Tampa.  Do you think he will replace Ken Holland when Ken decides to hang it up?  I think he's the right choice for the job.  He's the face of the franchise, even in Florida.

It wasn't me.

The number is on speed dial and you know I will! I can't make any promises beyond that, though...

Too many Eeyores

I've read this very long post and thread, and my only reaction is that there are too many negative people who think the sky is falling around here. We can win this game. We might not, but we can, and we couldn't say that with a straight face last year. We're at home and the crowd will be fantastic. We've improved and we have something to play for. That's enough. Go Blue!

Good one!

Good one!

How about a little respect

How about a little respect for his opinion and polite disagreement, Fuzzy? Why so rude? You've been watching The Wire too much, you little hopper...

Excuse me...

...but, I do not belong on any list in which "dumbassery" is ranked. I'm not a clown. I love Michigan football as much as anyone here.

An observation

I think it looks like he's been lifting weights. Strong kid. He should grow his hair out and consider dumping the vest...

J Leman!

You handsome devil! Nothing says Illinois football like a USA(!) tie, a mullet, and the Zooker. I'm curious: Will you be wearing your all-orange outfits in celebration of Halloween on Saturday?

As for recruiting, I am pretty sure that all of the coaches are involved and that while a recruit may have a primary recruiter or two, GERG and Coach Rod realize that it requires their personal involvement to seal the deal with the guys they really want. And, since the guys they really want are probably being recruited by several other big name schools, Coach Rod isn't going to stay at the "30,000 foot view" with any of them. That would be crazy and ineffective. Actually, it would be negligent if you asked me, which you did.

On an unrelated note, I read a disturbing trade rumor about Rip today. I hope it's not true! I still haven't gotten over Chauncey, or Grant Hill for that matter...

Listen to me, Magnus!

Magnus, we are a kindred spirit! You and I say what we think and don't care what other people say or think about it. So, since that's true, my questions to you are these: You've given your no nonsense opinions, so why are you still here arguing with people about them? Why do you care about the backlash or worry about the points (especially when you have over 4,000(!) - but I'll catch you soon enough!)?

Subway vs. Dominos

I fully intend to reserve judgment on the search until I've had a chance to compare their sandwiches. But, you'd think a sandwich company would naturally make better sandwiches than a pizzeria. But, I've been surprised before, which is a story for another time.

We'll see, I guess.

We're arguing about the

We're arguing about the band?!? I thought this was a sports blog.

Sad

Unfortunately, I can't participate in this one. Maybe a fake mustache for Halloween, though!

Well, I talk with him on his

Well, I talk with him on his mlive blog and watch him every Sunday on WXYZ, but it's just not the same. I'll bet he never thought I'd outlast him in radio.

I don't usually do this,

I don't usually do this, Steve, but since you're probably busy, I'm gonna hang up and listen.

Diary

I was just perusing the explanation of the scoring system. I can't wait to post my first diary soon!

I've already submitted my

I've already submitted my standard application package that includes the video of me at the Alamo Bowl in '05 - which should answer any and all questions about my dedication - as well as several audio clips of my greatest hits.

Two Questions

1. Why do you say that, Steve Sharik?

2. Do you have some sort of diagram or any other visual reference to help explain your conclusion?

Points

How do I get more? I should have more, right? I've been watching Michigan since the '60s and I saw Lloyd at Kroger once.

I was telling people that

I was telling people that Brian Kelly was the next big thing back when he was at Grand Valley. I even called Stoney and Wojo about it, multiple times...

'Sup, Scott...

I still watch that Pigskin Classic win over UVA on my VCR. I had my doubts about you - being from South Bend and all - but you proved me wrong!

But, it's true. We don't.

But, it's true. We don't. We're relying on a point guard in the slot. We just don't seem to recruit good skill guys any more.

Thanks for the shout out,

Thanks for the shout out, Bri!

Why would I go off on GERG?

He's obviously dealing with a shallow depth chart. I mean, how long are we going to keep trotting out these LBs and Safeties?

But, I do have a question for Brian.

Brian?
