|8 hours 17 min ago||That's why NYC sent him packing so quickly||
He left in the late 80s or early 90s for NYC and they tired of his schtick almost immediately. Honestly, I think the Drew Sharps of the world try to emulate the New York press with their always negative brand of "journalism".
Bernie had to come back here where people will appreciate his humor filled take on sports.

against State in the Rose Bowl on 4th and 1 against a stacked line? I was stuck in Winter Classic, ice storm traffic so I had to listen to the game. But it sounded like they ran a super conservative gameplan, especially on their last offensive play of the game.
|12 hours 56 min ago||I'm one of those that wanted him gone||
And I stand by that. It's not my fault that people went apeshit when RichRod was hired and brought out the pitchforks as soon as he was hired.
LC was good, but I thought that with the talent we had we should've had great results. 3-4 loss seasons is very average with the talent we had.
We couldn't stop mobile QBs/spread offenses: Syracuse/Donovan McNabb, Indiana/Antwan Randle El, Ohio State/Troy Smith, and Oregon/Dennis Dixon. That's not even mentioning the Northwestern debacle in 2000.
Fact remains that we couldn't beat Tressel who outcoached him and whose players outplayed ours and we had too many losses to teams we should've beaten. Oh and we won one Rose Bowl with him.
|13 hours 5 min ago||Carr's first recruiting class were sophomores in 1997||
Carr assumed the interim role in the summer of 1995 so he signed his first full class in February 1996. I believe they started a couple young guys on the offensive line and Anthony Thomas was a true freshman, but I believe your numbers are skewed a bit.
|13 hours 14 min ago||That's because he wasn't legendary||
He was a good football coach. A good caretaker of the program. But we won only one Rose Bowl while he was here. In 13 years, we went to the Rose Bowl as B1G champion only three times. OSU became the premiere program in the B1G during his tenure. And if that's who you compare yourself against, he did not perform well (1-6 against Tressel). People should appreciate his achievements, but stop with all the legend talk.
|13 hours 38 min ago||If we lose our seventh game||
They will probably fire Hoke, but ask him to coach the rest of the regular season. This is of course barring a blowout loss to a team other than Sparty.

- 1-6 versus Tressel
I'm not mentioning all the rumored and written about stuff that happened during the RichRod years, including the lack of reigning in his former players when they were helping to fracture the football community. I believe it was RVB that mentioned that those guys weren't even around during the RR years.
When you have 500 bowl games and the MAC on your schedule every year, getting 8 wins and to a bowl game with our talent is not asking too much.
|22 hours 28 min ago||I remember when I thought our football coach||
looked like the dad on The Wonder Years.
|1 day 10 hours ago||Is this sarcasm?||
I mean this seriously just because you talked about his love for Michigan, then ended with the bought and paid for head coaching title. That's HC title symbolizes some of the gimmicky stuff that wore thin over the years.
|1 day 10 hours ago||It's not my millions||
But UM can afford it. I mean, we could go private if we wanted to. I will give him credit for scheduling some heavy hitters in football so my girls in 2nd grade and kindergarden can watch Texas as Freshmen. Other than that? It's been a give year 4 year clusterfuck.
|1 day 11 hours ago||I'm just waiting for someone to back his story||
Something that big would have to be seen by more than one person.
|1 day 12 hours ago||He had a sideline pass allegedly||
Thing is, most of those guys with the passes are on the outside of the 20s so they're typically not near the coaches. The coaches have to stay within the 20s, so I have a hard time believing he could hear and see all that he says he heard/saw.
|1 day 12 hours ago||Apparently it's the Downriver women||
I guess they have a thing for him or vice versa. If there's one consistent theme with those idiots it's his affinity for the ladies (Though he's married).
|1 day 12 hours ago||Yes||
But I don't want to be called a racist.
|1 day 12 hours ago||They played the quote on 97.1||
Valenti and Foster played the quote and started their schtick so I didn't know the "who's and what's." Now that I know, seems to fit the narrative that's being painted of a coach that is just in over his head.
|1 day 12 hours ago||Yet another reason...||
...why I don't want Lloyd Carr filling in on a temporary basis. Keep him and his former players at a distance.
I don't know if LC's guys are younger, and therefore more immature in these situations, but the toxicity that arrived in 2008 and is still here in bits and pieces are from those guys. From the #1 jersey garbage, negatively recruiting UM, and this piece, I am just annoyed by these guys.
Maybe there's a reason that we haven't won a B1G since 2004 and beat Tressel one time.
Maybe they felt a sense of entitlement because of the helmet they wore and the stupid title of "Michigan Men" that they didn't need to work as hard.
Maybe that's why the 2000 defense that Todd Howard started for did not have the stamina to hold three 10+ point second half leads and prevented us from playing for a MNC.
I don't think those reasons have anything to do with the "FANS" that continued to break attendance records to see those "MICHIGAN MEN"
|1 day 13 hours ago||DB is not a witch hunt||
We could've gone 14-0 and people would have been ready to get rid of DB. BH on the other hand has not helped himself when it comes to his relationship with the media. The students and alumni did not force the words he's used since Saturday night. He's responsible for his own mouth.
|1 day 14 hours ago||Leave it to a Detroit columnist to state the obvious||
It's almost guaranteed that if Hoke is still here on Saturday, we'll lose by double digits unless Rutgers rolls the ball on the ground. College football is equal parts emotion and talent, and if Rutgers dominates the emotion part, any talent advantages we have will be a moot point. This will be our version of the Gator Bowl from 2011.
|1 day 15 hours ago||Wouldn't be the first time he bailed on us||
I wasn't crazy about him coming back after leaving us for a rival in ND. So if he wanted to leave, then don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya.
|1 day 20 hours ago||Yeah, it's too bad Shane's name is sharing the headlines||
At least no one will scapegoat him, which was my initial fear Saturday night from the BH supporters. I can't blame the desire to play, but there's a reason why parents like to send their kids to schools where the coaching staff will take care of their kid. They hope the coach will respond to situations like this with a parental hat on and not just a headset, or head that should have a headset on.
|1 day 20 hours ago||Football is on the backburner||
I mean we haven't had an on the field related post since Saturday night. Maybe the media feels like "Why ask him about the Rutgers game when he won't coach it?" or "Why ask him about recruiting when he's probably done recruiting for Michigan?"
|1 day 20 hours ago||I wish he would show up||
I'm all for him showing up. Nothing like a public shaming with pitchforks in the village square.
|1 day 20 hours ago||In that case||
I may have to see how long it'd take to get from Detroit to A2 in rush hour.
|1 day 20 hours ago||If this was happening in EL or CBus||
I'd have the popcorn out. Now I want this over ASAP.
|1 day 21 hours ago||No way Brandon lasts as AD that long||
If the Regents, President are smart, they fire this guy by 5PM.
|1 day 21 hours ago||Honestly?||
I don't even want to think about it. I would hope that Nuss or someone else on the sidelines would've told Hoke to keep him off the field after talking with the kid.
|1 day 21 hours ago||After Gibbons and now this||
DB has to go because of, well...take your pick.
BH has to go because of the product on the field and the fact that every school will negatively recruit us based on his cluelessness and less than truthfulness on the Gibbons issue. Not to mention the on-field product.
