...but considering we're looking like a bubble team from a 5-6 bid conference, we need as many quality opponents as possible. Losing to FAU does not help our conference profile or our SOS.
|3 hours 19 sec ago||UCLA coming at the perfect time||
Expecting a loss, but hoping UCLA gives a top notch effort so we can get some stuff on tape to correct. I don't know what you can learn playing average to below average competition. I think MSU probably knows a bit more about their team and where they need to improve based on the quality of their competition.
|3 hours 21 min ago||I see Clemson as a bigger recruiting threat||
I don't know how we break the OSU stranglehold in Ohio, but they're not as hard to beat down South and out West. But Clemson is becoming the cool alternative to Alabama for kids down there and on the East Coast. If Clemson plays for their second consecutive title, it will be even harder to beat them with our expanded recruiting footprint.
|3 hours 29 min ago||As a Lions fan||
I was happy CBS carried the Thanksgiving game against this year. Aikman isn't terrible, but that combo with Buck just sucks. While I'd like to see the Lions get more high profile games, I'm fine with the lower profile announcers covering their games.
|7 hours 21 min ago||How???||
- Game tying FG at home to Minnesota to send the game to OT.
This was one of the luckiest teams in CFB. Outside of us, their toughest games were at home. Purdue, Indiana and Rutgers are not the type of environments where you have to pump rawk music onto the practice field to get ready.
Oh, and WTF??? Now beating Temple is somehow a better win than over Colorado because Temple won their conference.
|8 hours 29 min ago||Ohhh, so that's Joey Galloway's problem||
Well he's more a jackass, but I assume the sentiment is the same.
|8 hours 29 min ago||He misses hockey||
Personally, I'd rather Brad Nessler, but he liked SEC football more.
|8 hours 36 min ago||I'd rather Alabama beat them by 50||
I think Clemson was fraudulent all year and got bailed out by NC State's kicker and the ACC refs @ FSU...not to mention L'ville's WR stepping out of bounds before he picked up the first down at the end of that game. At least if OSU makes it to the title game, it should keep up the talk about the B1G being the best conference.
I'm more interested in seeing PSU lose by whatever score Iowa lost by last year. That would make me a happy panda.
|8 hours 41 min ago||Agree on points #2 and #3||
On #1, he averaged five yards per pass in that bowl game. They ran a very conservative gameplan which helped his completion percentage. He's had numerous opportunities to start and could not do it. Even in the Rutgers game this year, he threw a pick-6 that was called back.
Hopefully a change of scenery helps him out, but sometimes the 5* kids are just too highly rated. Look at the highly recruited QBs that transfered out of Alabama, USC and other big schools because someone else with a lower star rating or less experience beat them out. He has one year to prove he's every bit the 5 star kid and I hope he does it as long as he's not on our schedule next year.

You knew what you could count on with Joique. It was fine when he was new and had a great story. But he got a new contract, never improved and got injured. So what we knew about him was no longer good enough. Unless Deandre Levy comes back at a Pro Bowl level, the same thing will happen to him.
|10 hours 11 min ago||Where's the "healed" PSU fanbase at?||
They don't let pedophilia stop their blind allegiance to the blue and white.
|10 hours 20 min ago||I've also heard that called the Lloyd Carr Invitational||
It used to make me angry until I realized we went there just as often as we went to the Rose Bowl under him. To figure out why Sparty found that funny is to understand Sparty logic I guess. We went to the second best bowl game as often as we went to the best one. Real burn there.
|15 hours 48 min ago||Yeah, for coaching searches||
I wonder if FlightAware stock goes up this time of year.
|15 hours 49 min ago||The first minute of blindside blocks||
Those hits were vicious. Can we put him on special teams?
|16 hours 16 min ago||You could throw the Wisconsin game in there also||
The offense moved the ball enough to win every game we played.
Explosiveness wasn't the problem. Execution in plus territory was the issue. Who knows how the Iowa game turns out if we're up 14-0 in the first quarter or if we don't fumble going in for the score against OSU.

And if you combine both, the time will really fly.

|1 day 8 hours ago||Just going is a great honor||
Good for him. Now if he'd like to announce on Saturday that he's coming back, I won't hold it against him.
|1 day 15 hours ago||Thank you for the drive chart||
Lloyd ball, to me, means we're not throwing the ball on our side of the 50 and definitely not before 3rd down. You could argue that Lloyd ball does not result in a Pick-6 or the INT in the 3rd quarter because he wouldn't have put the ball in the air.
If there's a complaint about the coaching, why not complain that we didn't bring enough pressure on JT on their final scoring drive of the 4th quarter?
|1 day 15 hours ago||I'm sure they could've bought those teams out||
We can't be the only school that knows how to reschedule a non-conference game.
|1 day 15 hours ago||OSU's pass protection + biased refs||
Don't want to think about it. I thought we went too soft in the 4th Quarter and earlier in the game when we had them in some 3rd and long situations. Then again, if they can get away with holding the entire game, it's probably best to play coverage.
Also, that article about biased refs is bunk. Maybe we're the exception, not the norm, but we get hosed like we're the Lions or the Browns.
|1 day 15 hours ago||Agreed||
I thought A-Train had a better career, but Tim's was hampered short by injuries. Both Tim and Wheatley could've had multiple Pro Bowl appearances if they stayed healthy.
Before going back completely to bashing Fred Jackson though, what RBs have OSU produced since Eddie George that were Pro Bowl worthy? I think OSU gets a bit too much credit for their NFL draft picks, at least on the offensive side of the ball, since John Cooper left.
|1 day 18 hours ago||The O-line underwhelmed in our biggest games||
Wisconsin, Iowa and OSU. We could not run the ball effectively in those games. When we had chances to close out Iowa or OSU, we couldn't depend on our ground game. Some of it was on the running backs not making the right cut, some of it was on the conservative gameplan, but a lot of it also goes on the OL play.
We need their play to improve significantly next year.
|2 days 11 hours ago||Have you seen Adoree Jackson?||
He's going to cover half the field himself. And JuJu and their offense will have a field day against that defense. By the third quarter, you're going to hear the same excuses that were used back in September about how PSU is still in rebuilding mode.
|2 days 11 hours ago||Why would I want anything with the OSU score?||
I would never want to see that score in my house.
|2 days 15 hours ago||Are you upset because PSU was jobbed?||
That's the only thing bringing me joy right now. Also, OSU killed Oklahoma on the road and beat two other top 10 teams in conference, one of them on the road. IIRC, they beat Nebraska by 50+. They are a better team.
After watching Clemson and Washington, I'm more upset because we could beat those teams and won't get the chance because we couldn't score two TDs at Iowa and the OSU refs had a chance to get paid while cheering on their favorite team.
|2 days 15 hours ago||Most knew we needed CHAOS to get in||
And as sobering as it is, we really needed Colorado and VT to win to give us a chance. The Iowa game is what screwed us. I think we all knew that.
If Speight could've just hit one of those deep shots against Iowa, we're probably having a different conversation this afternoon. Or if we would've ran the clock out when we had the chance against Iowa or OSU, things would've been different. We didn't execute when we needed it.
|2 days 15 hours ago||I can live with this||
Being #5 or #6 doesn't matter. I hope we beat FSU or whoever we play and Bama rolls UW/USC kills PSU. I hope the CFP ratings blow and everyone realizes we should've been #4.
And next year, I hope we can have a healthy QB for the OSU game.
|2 days 15 hours ago||I think some shenanigans are responsible||
They're 3 votes ahead in the AP and 5 votes ahead in the coaches poll. I have a hunch some folks moved PSU over OSU.
