That way he can spend more time with his "fall guy" at the club.
|1 day 19 hours ago||They probably have underground practice facilities||
They can practice underground where no one can see them.
|1 day 19 hours ago||Delaney = Worst commish in sports||
He may be worse than Gary Bettman. He's just letting Harbaugh twist in the wind while the SEC and ACC commissioners stick up for their conference. Must mean Delaney is not capable of forming an intelligent response.

Shuttering LSU football would be political suicide. Doing the same to all of Grambling or Southern University would have the same effect. A lot of alumni are still down there. And the business community near those schools would be affected negatively as well. And by them being an HBCU, I could see there being federal intervention if that decision was made.
I can see the athletic budgets being slashed considerably and the same thing with the arts programs for K-12 schools. I think they'll start small with steps like that before closing an entire university, especially one with any type of "historical" designation.
|1 day 23 hours ago||This was a topic on here a couple years ago as well||
It's not a good economic situation down there as they need to compensate for a struggling oil market. If oil companies have to start laying people off, that will then put a strain on the state sponsored social assistance programs. And in a city like Baton Rouge, where cost of living has gone up post-Katrina, it will make for a very dicey situation.
They will need to get creative to generate revenue if they do not want to make a lot of cuts. I wouldn't worry if I'm Les Miles, but I'd get worried if I was an AD at Louisiana Lafayette, La Tech or Tulane.

If we really want to keep Kurt Taylor, we wouldn't stop communicating with him. That's not how we operated with any set of teammates in the just completed recruiting class. This feels like the Vicious Vic decommitment more than anything else.
|2 days 27 min ago||Free Agent||
If he did decommit, which may not be true since his commitment tweet is still pinned, I find it funny he used the same language that bagmen used to describe recruits until NSD.

I'm still burned out from the 2016 cycle. I obviously don't have what it takes to be a CFB fan and need to become an NFL fan.

What did those teams do for Thanksgiving break?

Does that mean Harbaugh shot -8 with a handicap?
|2 days 1 hour ago||Louisiana's been facing this for years||
LSU, for example, has made a lot of budget cuts over the past few years. My aunt works for LSU and her job has been facing the chopping block for at least five years. This is more a political issue than sports related issue at this time, making this a tough topic for our board.
The only thing I will say politically is that there are a lot of people in the educational field (k-12 and higher education) that did not agree with many of the decisions the previous governor made. I won't play partisan politics and offer blame on how or why decisions were made, but I just know that there was a lot of questioning his decisions when it came to educational funding.
Oh, and there's no way the LSU football team is touched. More people live and die with LSU football than Saints football. LSU baseball is a close third behind the Saints. That will never change. You even touch LSU football and you'll get recalled. The non-revenue sports may be affected, but not the biggest money maker in the Boot.
|2 days 1 hour ago||SEC Coaches are driving this||
ESPN still has the TV rights to the CFP. I think they understand how many TV sets we bring into the equation and would love us in there as often as Alabama is in the playoff.
Remember that Sankey hasn't been on the job a full year. There's no way he's speaking out on this without Saban and the other coaches directing them. Also, remember that Ole Mi$$ is being hit with high level NCAA violations. Sankey only made a fuss about this when the Ole Mi$$ stuff came out this week. We knew the football team was going to Florida since the middle of last week. He's saying what the coaches want him to say while deflecting attention from that dirty ass program in Oxford, MS.
|2 days 1 hour ago||I hope this bodes well for Charlie||
We need a strong Texas so they Big 12 stops going into November with 3-4 teams ranked in the Top 10.
|2 days 1 hour ago||The NCAA wouldn't ban in season competition...||
...that's held during breaks. So basketball games in Puerto Rico during Thanksgiving Break and baseball/softball games in Florida during Spring Break would go on. But those summer basketball trips to Europe would have to go. There may even be some type of restrictions place on summer workouts for football. The SEC hates anything that can be done in public. Bagmen operate in private and they're totally cool with that.
|2 days 1 hour ago||Narduzzi probably knows the ACC would ban them||
Might as well stick to the company line. Plus, they have FSU and Miami in conference so they have an easier time establishing a connection to Florida than say Maryland or Rutgers.

|2 days 1 hour ago||General Sherman strategy for college football?||
I'm all for it as long as we capture the SEC women and bring them to Ann Arbor.
|2 days 1 hour ago||Aren't the Gary "incentives" still speculation?||
I think there are plenty of other "incentives" offered that are known and soon to come to light (ie. Ole Mi$$).
I like Jake Butt's perspective on the spring practice in Florida as a current college student, since it's pretty healthy IMO.
For those who missed it:
|2 days 22 hours ago||I think writer is calling the midwest a barren wasteland||
Not the #1 college town in America. And I will say this. I want Harbaugh barnstorming in the South and West because there is a big source of talent there. I hate Notre Dame as much as anyone else, but the good thing for them being an independent is that they play all over the place (even if it's a home game against a crappy team in the Alamodome). If we're making our presence there in the Spring and Summer, I hope it yields us the same type of recognition/notoriety.
|2 days 22 hours ago||Of skill positions, WR has the least impact on W-L||
They depend on the QB to get them the ball. They depend on a good RB to keep LBs and safeties honest. Without those two areas, their impact is limited greatly.
|3 days 21 min ago||It'd be nice to see other B1G teams offer some support||
Too bad the rest of the B1G has returned to being spiteful, jealous assholes who hate us to the point of staying silent while the SEC tries to block something that fellow B1G schools could benefit from.
I'm good with OSU fielding a team of Ohio All-Stars and MSU taking the bitter chip route to get some of the best of Michigan and Illinois. If we somehow land Dylan Moses or Cesar Ruiz thanks in small part to this Spring Break trip, maybe they will think it a good idea to once again follow the Leaders and Best.
|3 days 28 min ago||Alabama? No one. LSU? A lot of teams||
They had no QB, which isn't a surprise with Les Miles' LSU teams. Any of the BCS teams that year could've beaten them.
|3 days 32 min ago||Look at how many years those guys played in comparison||
Jerry Rice: 20 years
If Calvin played one or two more years, he would surpass all of those guys in terms of total yardage. He was the fastest to 10,000 receiving yards and first to get 5,000 receiving yards in a three year period.
Also, Calvin was a 6x Pro Bowl selection, not 5x selection, which isn't bad for being in the league only 9 years with the Lions of all teams. Look at every person you listed and you can also name the All-Pro QB or RB they played with. That's what kills me about Andre Reed. Dude was nothing without Thurman Thomas and Jim Kelly. And Lynn Swann kills me. Dude forgets he had a HoF QB and WR on the team.
The only reason you're hearing these bitter ass guys say Calvin shouldn't be in the HoF is because they had to wait forever to get in and they can't imagine a Detroit Lion with comparable or better numbers getting in before them.
|3 days 17 hours ago||I'd love to see us play at Legion Field||
I miss Alabama playing some of their games down there. Historic ball field.
I could see Harbaugh schedule a home and home with them all in the name of helping a struggling program earn some money since the mean ole SEC schools suck up all the time and cash.
|3 days 17 hours ago||USFL is like the B1G||
With all that bagman money in the SEC, that's like English Premiere League.
|3 days 17 hours ago||What time is Finebaum on ESPN radio?||
Or is he just on SEC network? I'd like to listen to some college football talk on the XM radio and not the usual hacks on the Detroit radio stations.
|3 days 21 hours ago||They'd give him a statue if he does Columbus||
I actually would settle for him trolling OSU by holding it in Columbus...Georgia, just to let the mouth breathers in Ohio wet their pants for a moment.

I quickly read your original comment and thought you were talking about a different kind of Bush. I'm in a NSFW state of mind.
|4 days 13 hours ago||If that was the reasoning...||
...Howard is maybe a 20 minute drive depending on traffic and they play each other in football. You could take the subway from Howard to College Park without changing lanes.
|4 days 13 hours ago||Interesting timing||
Why couldn't this come out one week earlier? Not saying we would've had a chance at Greg Little, but it would've been interesting to see how some last minute negative recruiting against Ole Miss could've benefitted other teams.
