IMO he is the #2 or #3 QB in this class behind Caleb Williams. It would be great for him to land in an offense like the one Detroit runs, because it's close to the Harbaugh offense (run heavy and utilizes the TE). Based on this year's draft class, I would use a top five pick on him.
I assume that OP is a Lions fan, so I'll say that these statistics show why Brad Holmes won the Exec of the Year Award. Four guys started games this year and with Jack Campbell, you could have five of those guys starting in 2024. Gibbs in a 50-50 split is as good as starting IMO.
For those with serious WNBA aspirations, I get it. But this is still a world class university with a world class alumni base we're talking about these young women potentially walking away from. When I faced that issue in the 90s, I had to have an honest conversation with myself about my future, and I knew I better secure it academically.
The division format helps to cut down on travel. If Detroit is traveling to Oakland as often as they go to Cleveland, that's more of a strain on people and finances.

Wagner v Howard (my wife's alma mater - so I'm biased) was a great game and CSU blew out a Power 5 team still living off a national title a couple years ago. Izzo's just pissed because he's about to go home with his top 3 recruiting class in a few days.
They swung for the fences and hit a ground-rule double IMO. Beilein left for the same reason why Howard was fired: These dudes leave (NBA or transfer) so dang quick these days. We can do a postmortem on why these guys transferred out or left just to be a G-League role player, but Beilein and Howard had a similar issue when it comes to player retention. The difference is that JB knew how to recruit developmental guys and actually develop them.
I'd wear something neutral. If you wear anything Michigan, then you might end up having to talk about Stallions to fans of any school. Do you want to deal with that for two days or do you want to just enjoy basketball? That place is going to be overrun with UNC (The Timeout) and Tennessee (Peyton was robbed) fans.
Every major program does that unless they already have their guy lined up. Pretty sure Sherrone was given the keys to the Cadillac without a search firm being involved.
Those firms can do the vetting and other backend tasks that he nor anyone on the staff can do.

I live in Sherwood Forest in Detroit and people have stayed in this neighborhood or an adjoining one because the Detroit Golf Club is a quick walk. It's a two minute drive from Woodward which will get you downtown in 10-15 minutes and to all the great eats in Royal Oak/Birmingham in the same amount of time.
Justin Fields would've beaten Detroit twice if the team didn't crap the bed here. I guess that's why they need the toilet paper.

It's a CYA move to remove any biases from the evaluation. Look at MSU's BoT for a recent example. An outside firm looked at all the shenanigans and suggested the Governor remove two of their trustees. Based on their findings, the BoT voted to refer the case to the Gov and now it's in her court.
An outside firm may just give school the legal backing to fire either Manuel or Howard for cause.

2. If he would have stayed, his senior leadership could have been a steadying influence with the coach out and could have impacted the W-L record to where it wouldn't be historically bad.
