Seems to me, I remember

Seems to me, I remember Rutger fans acting in a similar fashion a year ago......then 78-0 happened.

Pink Floyd is one of my favorite all - time bands. I would have to agree with your friends that Animals is probably my favorite Floyd album. It's hard to explain why, maybe the lack of a commercial sound or radio friendly singles? Which means "classic rock" radio completely ignores the album and instead plays 'Money' on heavy rotation and always cuts out the word 'bullshit' from the line, "Don't give me that do goody good bullshit".

I actually tweeted this info

I actually tweeted this info to Gregg Henson last night. I did hear it on Sirius College Sports Nation channel 91. It was reported on an update around 11 last night. It was the first I had heard all day about the Raiders talking to JH. I tweeted to Henson figuring if he didn't hear about it, then maybe he could find something out. I DID NOT report it as fact as in "the Raiders are definately talking to JH!" Just tweeted what I heard. Obviously, others heard it too. Personally, I believe it is a done deal to UM, just more national media CYA. FWIW, on my way home last night I also listened to the NFL Network radio and Gil Brandt was on. The topic of JH never really was discussed at length, other than a few casual "wherever Jim Harbaugh ends up next year, whether it's Michigan or some NFL team". It seemed like Brandt was avoiding any JH talk.

God, I really hope he makes

God, I really hope he makes the team. I think Jordan Kovacs could make any  team better just by sitting on the practice squad.

Fantastic!

Fantastic!

He was charging $60? Wasn't

He was charging $60? Wasn't he at Gibraltar Trade Center last weekend charging $10?

Growing up in the 80's,

Growing up in the 80's, Harbaugh and Paul Jokish were my favorites during that time.

Although I am not a Niners

Although I am not a Niners fan, I did get Jim Harbaugh's autograph the weekend of Super Bowl XL at the Canton Sam's Club for free. So it'd bepretty cool to say that I have a Super Bowl winning head coach's signature on my Michigan helmet.

MVP! MVP!

Ok, before this year, how many of you have ever argued this passionately over the league MVP award? No one? Well then, thank you Media..........

I agree totally that Peralta

I agree totally that Peralta deserves to be there in place of Jeter. The numbers don't lie, Peralta is well above Jeter...Yankee fans are funny, I think some of them still cast write-in votes for Graig Nettles.

I met Denard at the spring

I met Denard at the spring game in '09. He was a visitor to the game along with some other in-coming freshmen. He walked by me and no one else noticed him. I saw the Pahokee varsity jacket and the name Denard stitched on the chest. As he walked by me, I really didn't think about it, I knew he was a signee but didn't really get that excited. Then, without thinking I called his name, he turned around and said, "What's up?" I walked up to him and handed him my football and asked him for an autograph. He signed it next to Desmond's signature. Hopefully by the end of Denards college career, that football will have two Heisman winning sigs........

Lithium Haze

Do you think the hijinks of these two young rascals with cause Dantonio to give us one of his patented constipated, burns-when-I-pee, "I just took fourteen lithium pills"  facial expressions?......God, I hope so.

Rich Eisen: "It's just a

Rich Eisen: "It's just a relief knowing that we've got a coach that isn't going to give the number #1 jersey to a rookie defensive back".

Eisen: +1

That thing just screams, "We rock, you suck!"

I have several autographs

I have several autographs from current and former M players. Braylon Edwards signature is pretty much a capital B-straight line, capital E-straight line, with a #1. Harbuagh I got the weekend of Super Bowl XL at the Canton Sam's Club for free! His wife was kind of hot! But the best autograph I got on my Michigan helmet would be that of Alvin "Moose" Wistert. The man was a gentleman in every sense of the word. He wore a blue 3-piece suit and had hands the size of a catcher mitt. His signature is completely legible. He added " U of M '47 & '48 National Champs" under his name. I was saddened when he passed about 5 months later. I always tell people that the older players are the most personable and have the best signatures. Because of the experience of meeting him, Mr. Wistert's autograph is the best one I have.

Nothing new

This article presented nothing new in the way of being informative. Re-hashed, warmed over info that has been discussed in a pro vs. con format several times in forums that range from the legit (this site) to the absurd (other sites).

Agreed. I would put Orr at

Agreed. I would put Orr at number 1 because without him, Lidstrom doesn't the style he plays so well. But, Lidstrom puts up a great argument for number 1.

I get tired of hearing about Coffey being a great d-man. He was exactly as you say, "a fourth forward". He was no more a defenseman than Larry Murphy was a speed demon on skates.

The arguement for the others, Bourque, Stevens, Harvey, etc. just doesn't hold water. There have been good/great d-men, but Lidstrom just plays consistantly good and actually make a difference.

Excellent clip! But the girl

Excellent clip! But the girl with the flag is smokin' hot!

To the Lions!

Yes, RR is completely responsible for lights being added to The Big House......................(sigh)

Valenti=Douche

I have been liberated from the horrible clutches of the dreaded two-headed-huge-ego'd Valenti and Foster show since earlier this year. I just couldn't take it anymore. Instead, I bought a new car with a six month Sirius satellite radio trial....AWESOME!! Taking the place of Captain Spartard is the excellent sounds of early 90's alternative on Lithium channel 24, effin' great. Now they have a 24 hour Pearl Jam channel! Brings back memories of seeing them at Crisler in '93. Yes, I no longer listen to any of the rhetoric that spews from the mouths of rubes! In fact, the only time I listen to 97.1 is when a Wings or Tigers game is on. *sniff*sniff*......aaaahhhhhh the sweet smell of freedom!

One more thing.......Valenti.............is..............a..............Douche...........!

Honestly, this is the best

Honestly, this is the best statement I've read.

97.1 has alot of Sparty grads

97.1 has alot of Sparty grads on the air. Valenti, Caputo, Karsh, Scott Anderson, and Bill McAllister. They all (except Karsh) have shown a Sparty bias from time to time. Alot of times it is subtle, but Caputo really shows his dislike for the Wolverines. It's comical sometimes.

Irony

A few weeks ago I heard Craputo, uh, Caputo bitch about why Michigan fans won't give MSU any credit. He was almost in tears about how we act like MSU is a fluke this year. And how we still refer to them as Lil' Brother. At one point he said, "Who's Lil' Brother now?". LOL.

46 degrees!? BRRRRRR!!!!

46 degrees!? BRRRRRR!!!!

Does anyone really think

Does anyone really think Harbaugh would really leave Stanford right now? Don't get me wrong, I would love for Harbaugh to come. He's had good success since he's been a head coach starting with University of San Diego. But does he have the mentality that says that he want's to try to build this thing (Stanford) into a serious contender? Or would the MIchigan job be too important to pass up, if offered obviously.

Game over man, game over.

Game over man, game over.

I try and try to be true to

I try and try to be true to RR. I like him, I honestly do, but Good God man! Two weeks to prepare and we get this crap! Against a really bad Penn St. team? Come on! It's getting to the point where I can't keep defending RR.

I would have to think that

I would have to think that maybe, just maybe the defensive problem is GERG, not lack of depth, experience, injuries,.....

We use both scissor lifts and

We use both scissor lifts and manlifts at my work. When the wind is a minimum of 20mph, we are not allowed to use them under any circumstances. This is my company's rule, not OSHA. Also, we are required, per company rules, to wear a full body harness with a lanyard that attaches to the safety latches that are mounted on the lifts. These things sway like a mother the higher they are, that's with no wind. Add a slight breeze and watch as you bowels try escaping!

edit: I just looked at OSHA's site and all they really require is that if a guardrail is not in place, then the employer must provide alternate means of fall protection.

Thanks! Coherency is what I

Thanks! Coherency is what I strive for.

Since when does it mean that

Since when does it mean that if you are in some way affiliated with sports (journalist, talk show host, butt scratcher vendor, etc.) then you are competent enough to make "predictions" about who wins? Most of these nut-tards can't form an original thought or opinion, so how can I take them seriously when it comes picking a winner (heh, heh)?

Mighty Mike

I always thought he could be an NFL back. He had decent power for a guy his size and while he wasn't exactly a speed demon, he could be shifty and avoid tackles when necessary. He definitely had the mentality (Hello, Lil' Bro!)

xoxox, Rittenberg

Not exactly backing Dantonio, eh?

When Dantonio uttered the "I won't comment on that" line the other day, we should have seen right then which direction this scenario was heading.........

During a recent MSU game, can't remember which, the commentators called Dantonio "old school" and a "disciplinarian"........I call him pretty friggin' hilarious!

ain't skeered!!

MSU doesn't make quiver with fear, in fact, it's the opposite. I am anxious. I can't stand MSU and all the hype from the MSM and the fear talk on this board. Our defense sucks, but still it isn't any or much worse than last year's and we still coulda, shoulda won last year's game in EL. Cousins is a QB that can be rattled, their front four has not played above and beyond, their LB's are their strength, but they can't out run Shoelace or our WRs, their secondary is very suspect. As far a their win over Wisky, I think it had more to do with Wisky playing worse than MSU playing better. Wisky has been overated the last few years, IMO, and it showed yesterday.

I didn't graduate from

UM, I graduated from EMU. But I did attend UM-Dearborn for 2 semesters! (Yea Me!) But I've always looked at it this way, I pay taxes to the state of Michigan, part of those tax dollars are channeled to the many public, state universities. The baseless argument of, "You didn't go there!" holds no water. As a previous post mentioned, I never played for the Lions, Wings, Tigers, Pistons, etc., so therefore can I root for them and buy their merchandise from Wal-Mart or elsewhere?

My love for UM is for the athletics. Having never attended the Mothership campus, I have no true knowledge of the educational aspect of the university. I know it is a very highly ranked school and would love for my children to attend. The prestige of being a UM alum and having the block "M" on your diploma carries alot of weight.

My personal story for being a UM fan starts when I was about 7, 8 years old in '79-'80, I was just starting to get into sports, especially on television. I saw Bo numerous times and thought he looked like my grandfather, with whom I was very close to. That pretty much started my UM love. I remember watching Anthony Carter and became the biggest Michigan Panthers fan because of him. Next came Harbaugh and Jokish, still two of my all-time UM favorites.

On a more personal note, I also have a UM hospital story to contribute. Three years ago, my wife was pregnant with our daughter. She was considered high-risk because of a mis-diagnosed thyroid disease that claimed the life of our newborn daughter, Abigail in 2006. Because of her high risk status, she could not be treated by her OB. She needed to be seen by a high risk OB/GYN. Plus my wife wanted a hospital with a neo-natal ICU. That left DMC downtown or UM. She wisely chose UM based on national rankings. She was seen every Tuesday for the entire 9 months by a team of three doctors assigned to only her. In fact, one of her doctors was a high school class mate of hers! Anyway, the doctors were awesome! They actually caught the onset of the same disease early enough and treated the baby in utero and carefully monitered every aspect. My daughter was born healthy in Feb. 2008 and is a beautiful blonde tornado today. I have no doubt that DMC would have done they're best with my wife and unborn child, but UM has the amazing reputation that many don't.

BTW, unless you are an alum of EMU, then I don't want to hear a word regarding last season! J/K

Call it what ever you want,

"Maize", "yellow", "Sun", etc.....coupled with blue it's the best and most known color scheme in the world of college sports! Even my five year old son can point to anything with the yellow-blue scheme and proudly proclaim, "Look dad, Michigan! Hail to the Victors!" Makes me sniffle like a girl every time.

BTW, since Nike still supplies Sparty uni's, did they trademark "sinus infection green" or " mold spore green"? Just wonderin'.

Journalistic dignity

I was watching Sportrcenter this morning in a hospital waiting room. Of course, pretty much the whole broadcast was spent getting everyone's opinion on LeBron. Then all of a sudden, in the middle of the show they cut to a short segment of NFL Live with, yep you guessed it, Matt Millen! I could actually see what was left of their dignity get up, leave the building and go get a Slurpee.

Boesch

My friend and I had been talking during the game tonite and we came to the conclusion that Boesch has effectively surpassed the "Shelton Phenomenon". Meaning that he has reached the point where we are safe in assuming that Boesch will continue to have a decent, maybe not spectacular, but decent rest of the season. Possibly being named the A.L. ROY. The "Shelton Phenomenon" obviously is a reference to Chris Shelton, who hit 9 homers in his first 13 games, but lost the power after April, ultimately leading to being demoted in July of that year ('06). Since Boesch was called up near the end of April and he still is playing at an unexpected but awesome level two months later, he has beat the "Shelton Phenomenon".

Interesting sidenote: there is a sports store that I visit that still has some Shelton #26 home Tiger jerseys. They are going for like, 15 bucks or something.

You're right I remember in '07 when UM lost to App. St. I was reading the ESPN message boards (I know, not exactly Shakespeare!) and I was laughing at the amount of MSU fans that ripped UM for losing to an DII school. Now the amount of OSU fans was suprisingly low, as well as ND fans. It was MSU fans that laughed the hardest. I resisted as long as I could, but finally I had reply to the Tards. I noted that should the Sparty fans care as much for their own team as they do about UM, then maybe they wouldn't be on their fourth head coach in 10 years.(remember this was in '07)
I agree also All the local media hacks were singing the praises of Dantonio and the Spartans as if they were the heir's to the B10 throne. Nobody really questioned the fact that they had two unproven QBs and inexperienced RBs. All we heard, even in the national publications, was that the Spartans were ready for the next step. Looking at Dantonio's record, he was 18-17 overall at Cincinnati. With 2 bowl wins, one against Marshall. And so far at State he is 22-16 with 2 bowl losses. Looking at last year, he won nine games, but with Javon Ringer carrying 40 times a game, who knows how many he might have won. Also, He was never really critized by the local media for allowing Glenn Winston back on the team after serving jail time for assualt. RR gets no praise for kicking Justin Feagin off the team for dealing drugs. I have heard the local media use the excuse that Michigan is the higher profile university, so therefore anything that happens there is in the spotlight more than MSU. Which in my opinion is an exuse for MSU and the Mike Valentis of the area to shrug off mediocre results and blast Michigan for everything.
Valenti Mike Valenti and all radio show hosts, sports or otherwise, operate with an aganda. That agenda is gaining ratings and ad revenue. Making outlandish claims using unverified "I know someone who knows someone who works as a janitor....." sources are just one way of getting peoples interest. Now I love sports and unfortunatly find myself drawn to 97.1, even though I can only take so much of the bullshit that permeates from their know-it-all attitudes. Valenti has the kind of arrogance that makes me feel as though he auditioning for a national show on a network. And TerryDrewRobFosterSharpParker plays the perfect side man, never really disagreeing, but when he does he has a tinge guilt in his voice. Sorry for the back tracking. But the point I am making is that listening to or believing wholeheartedly to what these guys, or anyone in the media says could drive you batshit. Everything is said with a wink, or hint of "believe what you want, but MY sources say......" mentality.
I hate everything Ohio except Cedar Point. And even it tried to escape at one time. That's why it juts out into Lake Erie. I hate the fuckin' Indians, I hate the Browns. Don't get me started on the fact that they have a god damned hockey team. So yeah, I think OSU is UM's biggest rival. Notre Dame is the epitome of over-rated. Or maybe over-exposed. When ever I see Lou "keebler" Holtz, I want to slap him out of his Social Security benefits. And that fucking "touchdown Jesus". Is he really signaling a TD or screaming, "Oh Father, why have you foresaken me and made watch these arrogant a-holes compare every fucking QB recruit to fucking Joe Montana!"? MSU is just funny. Their fans care more about Michigan losing that the Spartans winning. I don't hate MSU, I just don't care.
