I actually went back and added the 10 month thing after I typed it and then read it. I figured it was only a matter of time before someone added this.

My dad always told me dirty minds think alike.

pillow pet

My 10 month old daughter loves the pillow pet. It is very soft and easy for her to grab and play with.

Leaving work early today

Did a lot this week at work, so I'm leaving early today. Heading to Akron in the morning to see the in-laws. Get to take my 9 month old to the kiddie pool tomorrow. While she is going to enjoy it, I can't help but think of the kiddie pool as the "pee-pee" pool. Immediate shower after!

Live in Lexington

I live in Lexington and work for UK. They have already turned over cars and burned couches for the last two games, so win or lose couches are going to burn again tonight. They need to come up with something better.

In 1993

In 1993 I was in basic training in South Carolina. My drill was a UNC fan and he knew I was a Michigan fan. The morning after the game he comes in to the barracks and says, “Private lexgoblue, your boys lost, AND they can’t count. DROP!” I had no idea what he was talking about. I did so many pushups that I lost count (and still had to go do muscle failure PT). I did not see what really happened and why I got smoked until a few months later.

When I was accepted into Michigan a few years after that, this was one of the first things that popped into my head. Chris Webber…you got me smoked…sigh.

What about the gambling aspect?

The basketball tournament also has a large gambling history associated with it, so people who would never watch a college basketball game are filling out their brackets and tuning in. Not all the bets are for money either (sadly my wife has bragging rights this year). Would a four team football playoff (or eight) generate even close to this kind of attention?

Mitosis and anal sex

During a lesson on mitosis, I had a student ask me if a girl could get pregnant through anal sex...his cousin, who was also in my class, then proceeded to ask him if he had eggs up his ass. Hell, even I had to laugh at that one.

Me too.

This is how I found mgoblog too. I can't believe it has been that long.

My wife

My wife (and Charles Woodson)

Simulacrum

I believe the term you are looking for is simulacrum (the copy of a copy). Just had to get my nerdiness in.

Major problem here in KY

My wife was treating a patient who had previously broken her arm several weeks ago. The woman came into the hospital trying to get more pain meds but was refused. The patient stepped out to go smoke and used the curb to rebreak her arm. Desparate act of a highly addicted, desparate woman.

Lexington

I'm driving from Lexington, KY to Akron to pick up my father-in-law and then heading to AA. It will be about 8 hrs in the car.

New Wolverine Coming

I found out yesterday my wife and I are having a baby. Posbangs all around!!!

My Concern

Emotion. Coming off of such a huge emotional game, I do worry about the team's emotional level not just for the game but also during the practices this week. This is when the coaches and team leaders need to step up and keep the young players focused.

I wouldn't be surprised to see M come out a little flat at the start of the game, but I fully expect this team to find their focus and relentlessly score on Purdue.

Vinopal

Vinopal's stop of the RB at the line on 3rd and 1. Huge play.

Amazing!!!

My voice is gone! It was worth it!!

Dantonio

It is nice to see Dantonio back on the sidelines again.

Pigskin Picks

Maybe I wasn't completely crazy for picking NW over MSU in Pigskin Picks. Long way to go though.

PSU

As much as I want to get a better feel for Penn State for next week, I don't know if I can stand to watch them play Minnesota. Zzzz.

Position Swap

"Position Swap" sounds like something you'd find late night on Cinemax.

Braylon Conundrum

I remember two distinct things about Braylon on campus:

1. When he was with the track team, he always parked his SUV on the sidewalk just outside the indoor track. This to me was an "athlete of privilege" thing that he was allowed to get away with just like other high profile athletes.

2. He took his time to sign a small stack of programs for me that I gave out to inner-city high school kids. It was an amazing gesture.

I'm conflicted about him.

VT "Special" Teams

I usually associate VT with good special teams. They are playing "special" tonight.

Ugly uniform contest?

If this is an ugly uniform contest, I think it would be a tie. My eyes hurt.

Let's Go Blue! Let's Go Blue!

My wife.

My wife was a two time All American on the UM track team. I have all kinds of funny stories about her, but I would like to stay married.

How about the Market Square My seething rage after Michigan's last Alamo Bowl appearance has clouded my memory (stupid Sun Belt officials) but I seem to remember having some fun at the Market Square (El Mercado). It's about 10ish blocks from the riverwalk, but not as crowded. Some of the stores were selling junk but not all. Great food there as well.
I prefer Woodford as well I have a bottle at home with my name engraved on it (gift from the in-laws). Once in awhile I like to say, "There's a bottle of bourbon at home with my name on it!"
How about The Victor (and just call him Victor)
In Lexington I have been in Lexington for almost two years. Last year we had some furniture delivered to our house and I started talking to the delivery guys about UK basketball. They both said they don't care if there are any violations as long as UK wins a national championship. MANY people here think the same way.
2nd on Gordus I had Gordus for A-chem. We used to call him droopy dog. Just looking at him made you sad.
Grade yourself lit course I can't remember the number, but the course was read a book (or not) and write a paper. You gave yourself a grade at the end. The professor is no longer at M anymore if I remember correctly. Lots of A's in that course.
P-Chem Physical chemistry (don't remember the #) was my hardest. Orgo, A-chem, and biochem were just time consuming.
I was at the meet I had a hard time seeing Denard run because I was on the infield watching shot. I did see him in the lobby area before he ran and I pointed him out to a friend of mine. Her response, "He's kind of short to play quarterback isn't he?"
Went to this game too I was at this game as well. Besides the gut punch ending and the sea of red everywhere, the trip was not bad (relatively inexpensive for a bowl game and a nice city for a quick vacation). I would recommend this trip to anyone considering it.
Even if the person Even if the person was not recruited by the football team as soon as they play in a game their scholarship counts towards football. This is the head count sports issue being discussed.
Only one. One scholarship is taken up by the higher revenue generating sport. This is why many football players participate in indoor track. It does not hurt track scholarships.
This is correct I checked with a former track team member and was told that the scholarship would count against the football team.
My crazy idea I’ve always had this crazy idea in my head about moving “Bowl Season” to the beginning of the year with the end of the year being some form of playoff. The bowls could occur all across the country (since it is the end of summer and not the middle of winter) and pit two teams together at neutral sites. Imagine being able to go see two non-Big Ten powerhouses competing in the Big House. The outcome of the games would have no bearing on the season in terms of W-L record but could be used to have more informed initial poll rankings. Teams making bowl games could be decided upon by the previous year’s record. There are obviously many flaws with this idea and would never work, hence the crazy idea qualifier.
IMO, No. It takes a very special person/player to be able to leave the country like that to try and follow their dream. I feel like he is the exception not the rule, and kids are not going to be lining up to play overseas.
