First road game for me since…

First road game for me since JT was short - hoping i wasn't part of the problem but if something terrible happens tomorrow you all can blame me.

A friend's brother is a senior at Minnesota so going to try to keep up with the kids for tailgating.

I am of two minds - I often…

I am of two minds - I often go home to Ann Arbor for thanksgiving so it's great to be there, but often times there are family responsibilities that weekend that make it difficult to properly tailgate/watch/celebrate. My dad even had the gall to get remarried the day of our 2021 win.

I do like having it be the last weekend of the regular season - adds some heft to the game, and in my opinion adds to the intensity and stakes of the game. Obviously it would be a huge game even on the first week of the season, but you can't be the implications for the playoffs and bowl games that come from it being the last game.

He did have one extremely …

He did have one extremely "oh shit" throw that should have been picked off in the fourth quarter

He was my TA my senior year…

He was my TA my senior year and probably my favorite instructor throughout undergrad. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. Truly a brilliant and caring teacher.

Monroe, Michigan may check all your boxes. Nice little downtown, not far from Toledo, Detroit, Ann Arbor, and the airport, and you can look for a place on the lake.

What makes you think we can…

What makes you think we can put up 34 on Wisconsin when we put up 20 on a much worse Rutgers defense? Wisconsin has the #1 run defense in the country and our passing game is a giant question mark. Not saying it couldn't happen but it's definitely not my expectation. Wisconsin very well might just be the better team.

These semi-frequent CFP proposals are usually just tedious and self-indulgent but this one is actually bad too.

I enjoy it - well written, typically pretty balanced, and always with an eye towards how we will match up against OSU.

I was 14 or 15 and my friends and I got an older classmate with a fake ID to buy us a 30-rack of beers. Our whole plan was to drink as many as we could and then have boxing matches, and that's exactly what we did. It was a good time, but I didn't immediately fall in love with it the way you mentioned. The first time I remember really enjoying it was at a house party when I was 16. I also had a few bong rips and had never felt so incredible.

I certainly believe in alcoholism, but I'm not sure exactly what the nature of it is. To the extent that I believe free will exists, I think alcoholics must have a measure of control over drinking, but in a practical sense that control could be so hard to exercise that it may as well be automated. I certainly have trouble cutting myself off, and I'm starting to arrive at an age where getting drunk is a bit less ubiquitous.

There's no alcoholism in my family, to my knowledge, but I did have a close relative start a deep downward spiral that ended in suicide via substance abuse.

I know it's unfair,…

I know it's unfair, unrealistic, etc, but a successful season is beating OSU and losing no more than two games. That's the standard for a good season.

Just to highlight how in the weeds we've been, that outcome would still probably be considered a failure for tOSU, Alabama or Clemson.

This is literally just a…

This is literally just a collection of problems and perceived problems in our society, not a coherent argument against modern capitalism AKA capitalism backed by progressive taxation and a welfare state. Plenty of capitalist countries have mitigated these issues. In fact, all the countries with the highest standards of living also are capitalist.

I think most of the people…

I think most of the people who are downvoting you are on board with this, at least certainly the more accountability prong. Unfortunately you don't seem to be squaring any of your prescriptions with your understanding of the fallibility of humans. You took issue with police officers wanting to survive lmao.

We don't use strict…

We don't use strict liability for just about any crime in this country (and in the western world generally). A fundamental precept of justice is the requirement of criminal intent before the imposition of criminal liability. Strict liability would obliterate the distinction between deaths caused by accident or intention. A police car gets hit by a drunk driver and the suspect in the back seat dies - doesn't matter if the cop was driving negligently or responsibly, it's as much murder as if the cop shot the suspect himself. This seems atrociously unjust and seems like terrible policy as well.

So if the clock-runner takes…

So if the clock-runner takes an extra two seconds to stop the clock after an incomplete pass the offense doesn't get another shot? Why?

I just got up to two stars…

I just got up to two stars today - your streak goes to two stars on day 3. I think whatever your median star number is is your overall number, so if you can both  turns played and the streak up to two, you'll be a two star

Oof. This guy thinks having…

Oof. This guy thinks having Wyoming votes worth 4x as much as NY votes in a presidential election and 50x as much in the senate is the way to go, and justifies it by saying otherwise NYC and LA, with a combined population of 12 million, will decide an election in a country of 327 million. Do better.

Feel free. I hate having to share a country with people like you.

He's second in the country…

He's second in the country in APG, and first from a P5 school by a wide margin. He's an elite defender. He doesn't turn the ball over. With him as our point guard, we've made the sweet sixteen every year and the national championship once. We also won the b10 tournament twice.

You're probably just being a troll, but if not, you're both arrogant and an idiot.

It's always nice to see someone really dig in when they're so obviously wrong. The guy answered OP's question with a 'yes', you misunderstood what the question was when you read his post and thought you'd get on your high horse, and you were clearly wrong. Move on.

Also, your post would have been obnoxious even if OP's question was what you thought it was.

Calling people 'losers' for…

Calling people 'losers' for having reasonable expectations about the upcoming two weeks of football is pretty laughable.

Unless you mean Clemson…

Unless you mean Clemson doesn’t belong, I don’t think your comment has anything to do with watching them. PSU has looked better and has the better resume, although I don’t believe they are actually the better team.

Not really a shot at you…

Not really a shot at you personally, but I always find these hyper-specific predictions odd. Like this is just a complete guess based on gut feeling, right? More of a daydream than an informed prediction?

I think probably 4 to 5 YPC no matter what - this is one of the best rushing offenses in the country.

I'm a little confused - are you both implying that DPJ is intentionally avoiding playing? I wouldn't want to belittle a player like that without any evidence. Do you have any? DPJ had a high ankle sprain.

Yes and no - an active…

Yes and no - an active betting fanbase definitely can influence the odds, but you also won't see them deviate much from their actual expected scores because the sharps - working with amounts that dwarf what most fans have - will hammer them and they will lose big. There's a reason it's difficult to make money against vegas over the course of the season.

Shea had a bad game but, in actuality, he has the best deep ball of any QB in the B10 per PFF and UFR, etc. His problems today were happy feet and touch, then accuracy only really in the second OT.

I get why TheCube is getting downvotes, but he is right. Our current average composite commit rating is 89.55, which would have been good for 17th last year. Of course there's still plenty of time left, and the offer sheets of some of our three stars suggest they may be due for a bump, but if we were to fill out our class with like recruits we'd have more like a top 15-20 class than top 20. For what its worth I love this class so far, just wanted to slow the pitchfork parade.

We ran Villanova and UNC out…

We ran Villanova and UNC out of the building and went on a 17 game winning streak to start the season, those are pretty great memories. Iggy was the only guy who could consistently score and TT too. But don't let me stop you (and this is what our fanbase always does) from immediately turning your back on 20 year olds who make decisions in their own best interests that the fans don't like.

Everyone GTFOH with your…

Everyone GTFOH with your confidence. I've been reading MGoBlog fanatically since 2009 and I have yet to see a win in the shoe. This type of analysis is meaningless in this sort of game: an extremely hostile environment, an ultra-athletic opponent that's been playing below it's talent level, and almost two decades of history to overcome.

If you're looking for a more…

If you're looking for a more college vibe, Skeeps and South U (Charley's, Brown Jug, Blue Lep) are your best options. The upside of South U is having all those options right next to each other, plus better food. Skeeps can get a bit more rowdy for games though and will have cheaper drinks.

This is easy, Alabama gets in and Georgia doesn’t. Chaos is if Georgia wins out.
