For the levity.
I know it's just so blasphemous, but, Jesus, The Game is also just another conference game, right?
Winning the hoops tournament. Yeah, I want that a lot more.

I won't cancel my subscription to this here blog. No need for further review.
At the Notre Dame game I sat next to a guy in his sixties. He spent the whole game watching the cheerleaders with his binoculars. When they were on the bigscreen, he pointed his binoculars at it the bigscreen, better to make out the pixels one-by-one.
Maybe one of us could contribute a really great cheerleader UFR.
|1 week 5 days ago||it comes down to two things||
First, I was born there, as were my parents and grandparents. My family moved to Michigan when I was 4. My dad went to OSU law. He was a diehard OSU fan, and so was I until I went to college -- first Ohio Wesleyan and then Michigan -- at which point I jumped the fence. It was fun being a Michigan fan in Delaware, Ohio. Not many Michigan people at OWU so I enjoyed being an outsider.
I transferred to Michigan because it was a way-better school and cheaper and because with my mediocre grades, getting in as a transfer in January was my only shot. My dad told me to go the MSU. He said Michigan would be too hard for me.
So, reason #1, is the rebel in me: I believe people born and raised in Ohio will never do something that their parents would disapprove of. You can look it up. They're sheep and they're dull and they know it. Because of this, they resent outsiders who venture out of the box every now and then; especially those from Up North.
Reason #2, they're consumed by OSU football because it's all they've got.
Combine one and two and you get the most vapid, moronic mean-spirited assholes in the country.

I can't think of enough nice things to say about this wonderful young man.
Go Blue! It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||Weis||
I doubt this is a new thought; I can't read all the hundreds of comments on dozens of threads. But, this post reminds me of Charlie Weis and the "strategic advantage" that he thought ND would automatically enjoy the day he walked into the building. Weis, Borges and Martz are in their ways, Wonks. They have all kinds of ideas in their head but the sum of those ideas, despite what they might think, does not equal Advantage.

I'm sitting here trying to figure out what next year looks like. With or without Borges, the OL is still going to suck and no reason to believe the tight ends, tailbacks or fullbacks will be able to block anyone either. This is less on the OC than on the people whose job it is to teach how to fucking block.
Sure, inexperience is an issue this year. But, oh look! There go Lewan, Schofield and Toussaint. In come more new guys and does anyone think they'll be any better?
Something is not right with Development. These players can't be this bad unless they just don't know what they're doing.
I say this is on Hoke, but firing him is a terrible thought. He needs to fix the way players are taught.

On one hand, he's of the dying breed in the house -- a Moderate Republican. On the other, he's just the type to win a centrist district. If I had to guess, I would say he's sick of raising money and is reading the writing on the wall that says he's going to be primaried by a tea party guy.

They are The Maples. Hence the "heart of a maple". And the cheerleaders are called the "Maple Motion", which is nice.
Also, the school's sorta kinda near Maple road.

Did no one notice the beautiful fall colors today?
I tried to take them in. But my wife just threw the whole damn house of YOU SUCK at me because I've been surly for the last few hours, as if, DUUUAUUUH.
So, I. Missed the whole goddamn beautiful fall colors thing.

Omg. Seriously. You must be joking. You've got to be Kidding. I can't believe my fucking ears.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||Zero protection for Gardner||
On the play pictured, Gardner releases the ball in no more than 2 seconds post-snap. In that brief time he doesn't look to his right at all. I think that's what he was instructed to do, pick a side and stay with it, lest he die in a pocket protected only by the OL, with five players in routes.
Contrast that to a play against PSU when he was sacked. Lewan and Schofield are right, with AJ Williams in the LT position. AJ is a statue as a DE rips past him and reaches Gardner in about 2 seconds. Gardner holds the ball too long and is blindsided.
Are there not "designed", mandated quick-release situations? Shouldn't this latter play have been one of them?
EDit: sorry, I didn't see that Space Coyote actually answered this.

This was a double post, but since I can still edit, why not add... 1998 at NU. Justin Fargas carried the rock in a monsoon. Ugly, ugly day but we got the W.

I was end zone looking straight down the sideline. Shitty seats, but hey. Woodson makes the ridiculous interception right down that line and I still don't understand how he did it.

|12 weeks 6 days ago||how do you know?||
"Exactly how many cases of athletes committing sexual assault have been covered up at Michigan? Zero."
You know what a "cover up" is right? It's in place to be sure that nobody -- you included -- ever finds out that what's been covered up ever happened? So, how could you possibly confidently say "Zero"?
|12 weeks 6 days ago||No excuses -- and this boggles my mind||
The OP asks "why" they don't work. We can try to speculate on all sorts of reasons. But none of the excuses suffices. This crap should have been ironed out entirely after the first season the boards were in place. The problem lies with the company/people the AD hired to program and operate the boards. Who ever they are, they suck at it. It can't be a budget problem. Neither can it be due to a lack of local technical expertise.
Hey, I have an idea: how about they get out and PRACTICE with the fucking thing? You know, make sure it works on FRIDAY when there's noone there instead of finding out it doesn't on Saturday when it matters.
THIS IS MICHIGAN fergodsakes!
