Are you saying this may be different as in Nussmeier or Hoke is going to come out and say to a reporter or at a press conference "yes, we offered Francois a scholarship to the University of Michigan beginning in 2015 and we really hope he faxes in his LOI in about 10 months and stops talking to all those other schools!" And then, looking into the cameras, adds "We love you Francois. I mean we REALLY love you!"
Different, like that?

Much less even discuss a recruit. Doesn't everyone already know this? The only "confirmation" of an offer has to come from the kid, his coach or his parents.

I am an avid golfer and follower of the professional game. I have been to Augusta National twice.
On with the show.
I think the masters is a top 5 annual sports event and a piece of shit all in one.
It's a classic up there with the Kentucky Derby and the MLB all star game, and it has a great field of respectful competitors.
It's a piece of shit because:
There are only about 40 players that deserve to be there

I stand corrected. thanks.

It's obvious that Dylan Moses is a fine young man and a great Student-athlete that would make all of us proud and full of admiration!

I grew up a lions fan. My dad had season tickets in Tiger Stadium and the Dullgraydome.
By the time I got to Ann Arbor, they were challenging for a playoff spot for the second time in my young life. (The first time they lost 5-2 to Dallas. Yes, that is a football playoff score.) But back to 1981, the terrible towel gang lost on the last sunday to Tampa bay at home. I gave up on them at that point.
About 11 years later the lions won their first and only playoff game in my lifetime on the back of one of the three best RBs in NFL history, who later walked away from the game and his team in his prime.
What the lions need most at this point is for fans to walk away and force the Fords to give em up.

There are only three known scores in Soccer.

Full disclosure, DD and I went to HS and a bit of college together. That said, I love listening to him and Price cover the Tigers. The difference, IMO, is there's nothing wrong with a homer covering a college football team, and DD could go a long way across the spectrum from Harwell impartiality to Ufer mania. DD did sideline work in The Stadium 15-20 years ago for radio. He's a Michigan fan. I think he would be really entertaining with Brandy.

I had no idea.

If I'm not mistaken, Oberon is not available anywhere this time of year.

|4 weeks 5 days ago||Dooleys||
By "Skeeps" you are kindly giving the board a time shift translation of "Dooleys". And by "on line" you are referring to standing in front of Dooleys, as opposed to using the internet which was not available other than at a desk with a big fat CRT monitor and, if you were lucky, a T1 connection. To all you whippersnappers out there, that's kind of amazing.

I know I'm late to this, but I had to say it. Those guys are sitting in chilled water, probably temp in the 40s. It's no fun, which is why they're not in a good mood. It's effing painful, but after you get out your legs feel awesome. Notice Walton's elbows up in the air? He's keeping them out of the ice.

Typos happen everywhere, all the time. They, and all the malaprops and just general illiteracy of those hack sites happen in every article!

I always enjoyed watching my team try to defend the other team when that other team was playing "in the shadow of their own goal line".
Brent Musberger is a dope and always has been.

This site ought to have a wiki-type thread with nothing but GBW and GBMW gaffes.
they can be so darned cute sometimes.

Energyblue reads eerily like Eroc. The misspelling, run on sentences, thoughts clanged together without segue... Especially the reference to coachBT and Maizeman, and sitting in between them. Wow. It's you Eroc, isn't it?

Maybe if they put an 'S' into their acronym, people who don't give a shit about soccer would at least have a chance to know what it stands for.

Love seeing the Vibe score. Thanks. Brandon, are they compiled somewhere?

If you watched that segment, I'm not sure how you could have missed that it's 60 Minutes SPORTS and it's not on the old people's network, CBS, it's on SHOWTIME.
I could pull the Nielsen ratings today at the office, but I suspect the demographic profile is quite different, and I hate pulling Nielsen reports, so I won't.

I'm way into "map porn".
It's a rare map of the states that doesn't line up along blue state/red state lines. I know we're not supposed to get into politics; I just had to say it.
|9 weeks 15 hours ago||Question for you||
So, Wolverine Chemist, since you seem to have been involved with FFLF, what specifically can you tell us about them? Their website is down at the moment, though I have been able to pull it up in the past. (And the facebook page hasn't had a post in almost 3 years.) When I have been able to look at the website, I still couldn't really tell what FFLF does other than help develop underprivileged children. The website shows very few pictures of kids or their parents (but there are a lot of pictures of Marlin.)
When there are so many NP and NFP organizations vying for dollars and attention, I like to have a better idea of what the thing is about, how it performs, how much leverage they have with the philanthropic community at large beyond their own resources, etc. Not to mention, it doesn't hurt to provide a link to their financials on their website, for instance, but it's not there.
Can you shed any light on this?
|9 weeks 1 day ago||Measure once, cut twice||
I think a big part of the problem in 2013 was the lineup shifting, not to mention the tackle-over crap. Starting Miller, trying Bryant, going with Bosch late in the season, these were coaching decisions that were akin to building a wood deck without measuring anything. The thing gets built eventually, but it takes longer and costs more to get there.

Love what I read about the kid and want to see him contribute at a high level, but where the hell will it be?
Biggest question I see in Spring.

25th Hour is one of my favorite movies, along with Magnolia. Can't decide which one was his best performance.

|12 weeks 17 hours ago||Frustrating||
I would really like the U to come out with an official statement to shed light on this. However, they will undoubtedly and I suppose even justifiably use FERPA as a shield and say they can't comment. The whole thing will end up fuzzy and ultimately forgotten by almost everybody. Which is to say, the U of M and its AD will have this bad mark on their reputation forever, and will be powerless to erase it.
Oh, and somewhere out there is a woman with an tragic injury to her psyche.

A high school classmate of mine, a great guy, Bob Teninga passed away recently. Some may recognize the name. His dad played both ways in 1949 and at some point held some sort of record which I can no longer find. Anyway, Bob and I graduated from HS in 1977 and both of us were students at the U. Lovely guy who will be missed.
