Really cool to see how they've both grown up from the first picture to the last.

I think I side more to the imperative of "team chemistry" vs. "strong leadership". That said, I think among the many intangibles of winning football games, the most important and common one among winners is...
And I have more examples than just two Michigan football teams.
* 1980 USA Gold medal hockey team
* Umpteen non-dynasty NFL champions (disqualify Patriots, Steelers Packers and pick another)
* The Ryder Cup Europeans, for god sake, pick a year.
True, it's hard to explain the Lions. I just wrote and deleted about 200 words trying, but gave up.

I'm sure Shaun Crawford is a fine young man.

It's between Sidney Fine's American History (20th century) and Weather.
Fine was such a UofM treasure and I felt fortunate to have had him.
Weather - I'm not even sure what department it was in but it was great because I'm now an expert at the most talked about subject in the midwest.

What does "grandstaff being a stauskus" mean? I can't even imagine an autocorrect in that.
never mind. I googled "grandstaff".

|10 weeks 4 days ago||Norfleet||
If Peppers gets reps returning kicks Norfleet has no chance of holding him back. Peppers is bigger, faster and better at eluding tacklers and breaking tackles. Oh, and in those highlights, he caught everything thrown to him!
But seriously, I've never been a big Norfleet fan. IMO, all he has is burst. Peppers has superquick vision that prompts him to move into space the tackler can't get to in time. And if the tackler can get a hand on him, it's not going to take Peppers down. Can't say any of that about Norfleet. How many times has he gone down by the ankle? A hundred?

Are you saying this may be different as in Nussmeier or Hoke is going to come out and say to a reporter or at a press conference "yes, we offered Francois a scholarship to the University of Michigan beginning in 2015 and we really hope he faxes in his LOI in about 10 months and stops talking to all those other schools!" And then, looking into the cameras, adds "We love you Francois. I mean we REALLY love you!"
Different, like that?

Much less even discuss a recruit. Doesn't everyone already know this? The only "confirmation" of an offer has to come from the kid, his coach or his parents.
|13 weeks 4 days ago||My 2 cents||
I am an avid golfer and follower of the professional game. I have been to Augusta National twice.
On with the show.
I think the masters is a top 5 annual sports event and a piece of shit all in one.
It's a classic up there with the Kentucky Derby and the MLB all star game, and it has a great field of respectful competitors.
It's a piece of shit because:
There are only about 40 players that deserve to be there
|13 weeks 5 days ago||yeah.||
I stand corrected. thanks.
|13 weeks 6 days ago||KUDOS!||
It's obvious that Dylan Moses is a fine young man and a great Student-athlete that would make all of us proud and full of admiration!

I grew up a lions fan. My dad had season tickets in Tiger Stadium and the Dullgraydome.
By the time I got to Ann Arbor, they were challenging for a playoff spot for the second time in my young life. (The first time they lost 5-2 to Dallas. Yes, that is a football playoff score.) But back to 1981, the terrible towel gang lost on the last sunday to Tampa bay at home. I gave up on them at that point.
About 11 years later the lions won their first and only playoff game in my lifetime on the back of one of the three best RBs in NFL history, who later walked away from the game and his team in his prime.
What the lions need most at this point is for fans to walk away and force the Fords to give em up.

There are only three known scores in Soccer.
|14 weeks 3 days ago||DD is my man||
Full disclosure, DD and I went to HS and a bit of college together. That said, I love listening to him and Price cover the Tigers. The difference, IMO, is there's nothing wrong with a homer covering a college football team, and DD could go a long way across the spectrum from Harwell impartiality to Ufer mania. DD did sideline work in The Stadium 15-20 years ago for radio. He's a Michigan fan. I think he would be really entertaining with Brandy.

If I'm not mistaken, Oberon is not available anywhere this time of year.

|16 weeks 2 days ago||Dooleys||
By "Skeeps" you are kindly giving the board a time shift translation of "Dooleys". And by "on line" you are referring to standing in front of Dooleys, as opposed to using the internet which was not available other than at a desk with a big fat CRT monitor and, if you were lucky, a T1 connection. To all you whippersnappers out there, that's kind of amazing.
|17 weeks 5 hours ago||Ice||
I know I'm late to this, but I had to say it. Those guys are sitting in chilled water, probably temp in the 40s. It's no fun, which is why they're not in a good mood. It's effing painful, but after you get out your legs feel awesome. Notice Walton's elbows up in the air? He's keeping them out of the ice.

Typos happen everywhere, all the time. They, and all the malaprops and just general illiteracy of those hack sites happen in every article!
|17 weeks 3 days ago||Too bad||
I always enjoyed watching my team try to defend the other team when that other team was playing "in the shadow of their own goal line".
Brent Musberger is a dope and always has been.

they can be so darned cute sometimes.
|18 weeks 2 days ago||Agree||
Energyblue reads eerily like Eroc. The misspelling, run on sentences, thoughts clanged together without segue... Especially the reference to coachBT and Maizeman, and sitting in between them. Wow. It's you Eroc, isn't it?
|18 weeks 4 days ago||I'm with you, maize-blue||
Maybe if they put an 'S' into their acronym, people who don't give a shit about soccer would at least have a chance to know what it stands for.
|18 weeks 5 days ago||Nice!||
Love seeing the Vibe score. Thanks. Brandon, are they compiled somewhere?
|19 weeks 2 days ago||You're confused||
If you watched that segment, I'm not sure how you could have missed that it's 60 Minutes SPORTS and it's not on the old people's network, CBS, it's on SHOWTIME.
I could pull the Nielsen ratings today at the office, but I suspect the demographic profile is quite different, and I hate pulling Nielsen reports, so I won't.
|20 weeks 2 days ago||Apolitical||
I'm way into "map porn".
It's a rare map of the states that doesn't line up along blue state/red state lines. I know we're not supposed to get into politics; I just had to say it.
