Another unpopular opinion...UM better sort out its QB situation or MSU with a good QB may do more that 'just come close to competing with UM'.
I don't know how anyone can have any idea what to expect from UM, especially in rivalry games, when the most important position on the team is so far from being sorted. Sparty is going to be desperate for a win over UM in year 1 of both teams w new coaches.
IDK...if I were say running a sports focused website and I wanted to maximise profit...I'd probably post content that riled up the largest most passionate fanbases around. You know they ARE definitely going to click, read, engage and share the content with others in said fanbase...so, the clicks multiply and so does the moolah...
....and I'd laugh all the way to the bank.
Then I'd do it again...and and again...rinse and repeat.
Harbaugh wasn't pushed out the door. He's always seemed to want another crack at the pros...as was evident every off-season since he had receive even the faintest reciproca interes from the NFL...and good for him.
Mission accomplished at UM against massive odds...now onwards to the one prize in the sport that's bigger than the National championship.
Even worse from an investment standpoint is the fact that the High-schooler can at any time change their mind and go purple or some other colour and collect another cheque. How anyone thinks that makes sense is beyond me...
I'm sure they are...but in the current world its the 'transformational' pieces that, all else being in the same ballpark, can set UM apart from others.
There is zero chance that UM with its massive athletic department and budget isn't going to NIL too. Those suits with all of their consultants have a LOT more to lose if it doesn't work than any of us keyboard warriors.
I just wish/hope that UM (Warde, Oto, etc.) would be/is leading the way to something much more sane than the current landscape.
That know-it-all recruiting analyst over on, I think 247, was really down on Hall and Jadyn Davis. He couldn't stop complaining about Hall's commitment (and by extension Mike Hart's recruiting).
Hope they both go on to prove him and all their detractors wrong big time..
UM won its first Conference championship in ages without an Elite QB. There aren't that many Elite QBs out there and many who were thought to be elite on one roster were a lot less so when they transferred and cashed in their new batch of NIL dollars.
Its not as easy as simply firing the money cannon...
I'm pretty certain Ryan Day had his old, beyond predictable, buddy from BC fully downloaded. Its like he had all of Brown's signals or something...hmmmm....

I wonder how many fanbases actually like the AD of the school they root for...and any that do, it has to be mostly fleeting in this day and age of internet outrage.
In the mass transfer era there will be a LOT more guys finishing their eligibility without coming close to graduating. The long-term implications are not good.

QB'ing at the major CFB level is hard...we've been spoilt with JJ for the last two years..and a 'good, not great..but doesnt make mistakes' Cade the year before.
And yet the player didn't leave...so sounds like said player feels he's getting more by being a wolverine than he'd get by transferring.
It's nuts to expect UM to get into bidding wars with every booster in the country for every player that just happens to get an offer that may be a significant outlier. Doing so would absolutely destroy team chemistry.
The issue isn't UM being cheap its an industry that basically makes little sense.
Semi-pro sports do not fit a universities charter. Its a square peg, round hole problem.
