I just love how UM fans think that somehow eating buffalo meat

... is insulting to CU fans. When I was there for the '97 game (yeah ... you kicked our ass that day) at a postgame party, I had to smile and pretend to be offended while the hosts cooked up Buffalo Burgers. Guess what? They were delicious. And also guess what .... we here in Colorado love our buffalo meat. You think that Texas fans would be insulted if you grilled beef ribeyes after a game with them, since after all Bevo represents the original mass source of American beef, the Longhorn.

Also you might want to know that the last two incarnations of "Ralphie" (only the greatest live mascot in college football) both came via the generosity of Ted Turner, who is probably the largest provider of buffalo meat in the nation via his several ranches that raise buffaloes.

But I do realize that it's all in good fun. Here's to looking forward to a hard  fought contest today, with no serious injuries to anyone on either team.

And in keeping with those sentiments ... GO BUFFS!

And Go Blue ... after today of course. :)

Whatever you might think about the relative quality of humor ...

... of the "depth chart" ... FYI, it comes from our SID Dave Plati, with I would presume some substantial assistance from his staff, including undergrad student assistants. One of his former student assistants from the early 80s was someone you all may have heard of ... kid named Fowler ... first name Chris I think.

Anyway ... in case you haven't already guessed, a Buff fan here. But as one who lived in and around Ann Arbor from the early 70's until 1995, I still have a great affection for all things UM and Ann Arbor (completed my undergrad degree at EMU, but studied a lot at the UM Graduate Library). I went thorugh a brief estrangement from UM when the law school turned me down ... but I'm over it. But that's how I wound up in Boulder and got my law degree from CU.

I may be the only person here (or anywhere) who can rightfully claim to have been to EVERY UM-CU game in history. I was at the game in IIRC 1974, the 1994 game (then still a UM fan) ... and both the '96 game in Boulder and the '97 game in A2. In fact, Saturday's game will be the first I will have missed. Looking forward to a good, tough game. Not going to make any predictions ... let's just hope that both teams emerge mostly healthy and prepared for tough conference schedules.

GO BUFFS!!

/ and Go Blue ... after Saturday!
