Where can I go to find thoe RISE shirts that everyone seems to be wearing? I've checked Moe's, and they don't seem to be selling it. :( |

Congrats LSA. I don't really know how this will change the board, but I do look forward to more of your statistical analysis in the future. It really adds something unique and sophisticated to the blog that you can't find elsewhere. |
| 12 weeks 3 days ago | Never been backpacking. |
Weekend plans include going to work, enjoying a cold alcoholic beverage, and contemplating my future. While I haven't met any mgobloggers since moving to OK in 06, I have met quite a few Michigan fans in this state. Many more than I would have guessed. I've even had a few offers made on my car, with it's custom blue paint and maize (actual color) pinstripes. |
| 16 weeks 2 days ago | Anything having to do with |
Anything having to do with RichRod at Arizona. He is no longer our coach, and unless we are playing against him, what he does at Arizona has no impact on our football program. His tenure at UM is in the past, so let's leave it in the past. Going along with that, no more using him to bash on Borges. I get that some people are highly hurt by the departure, but it's time to drop it. |

Even knowing how advertising works, it never really occured to me that my Adblock could be detrimental to the blog. Thank you, I'll be turning on my exception now, but only for Mgoblog. :) |

But I've been waiting for this confirmation all week(end). I feel like this is a very "I told you so" moment for me, since everyone was bashing Denard. This is why we really need to not bash players in the immediate aftermath of a bad game. Thank you for actually UFRing this, if for no other reason than to confirm that Denard actually had a good, if hidden, game. |
| 36 weeks 6 days ago | In that case... |
I guess I am the one who missed it. Whole-hearted apologies, been highly emotional/irritated/impatient ever since Saturday. Shouldn't have jumped on you without taking more time to see what you were saying. Again, my apologies. |
| 37 weeks 1 day ago | I think you missed it... |
Did someone forget to turn on their sarcasm detector this morning? >.> I honestly believe that Borges had a perfect plan for this game, that would have worked if the receivers had executed better. Running Smith wasn't the best idea ever, but I'm pretty sure the gameplan was originally created for Toussaint to be the main runner. |
| 37 weeks 2 days ago | I don't blame Denard for that. |
Look at Denard's placement of the ball, and where Roundtree would have been had he not gotten manhandled. A lot of what I saw last night involved the ball being in a place where only Michigan receivers had a chance to make a play on it. Denard consistently got the ball where it looked like his receivers SHOULD have been. |
| 37 weeks 2 days ago | Why be scared of Oklahoma? |
Their offense is led by one of the most choke-tastic QB's in the nation. Landry Jones is kinda like Joey Harrington, all the tools to be great, but no mental fortitude whatsoever. They lost Ryan Broyles in the draft, and none of their running backs really scare anyone. They are good, but not scary. Defensively, their linebackers have become a weakness. If you watch them, their linebackers bite on a lot of playfakes. Against a guy like Toussaint, that would cost them a few times. If Gallon can get positioned for quick slants against a linebacker while the corner is occupied with someone else, we'd be able to move the ball effectively. Long story short, I would have preferred we opened against OU this year. I like our chances against them. |
| 37 weeks 2 days ago | You're right. |
We should fire Borges and hire a coordinator that will send Denard out running every single play, to be the one taking all the helmet to helmet hits from some of the biggest, fastest, most NFL ready defensemen in all of college football. That would have never lead to a season crushing disaster. Nope. Also, for the record, if you watched Bama's D you'd know that they always had enough men in the box to take Denard's running lanes away anyways. So he would have been putting Denard in a bad situation, for quite possibly no gain at all. |
| 37 weeks 2 days ago | I'd like to see you try it. |
The offensive line did not give Denard "all night" to throw. He constantly had a 6'6" defender in his face, and he had to throw the ball high to avoid batdowns and interceptions. Add in the fact that receivers (Roundtree and Gardner) were either running sloppy routes or dropping the ball, and most of the blame can be taken AWAY from DRob. As much as I know it will pain everyone, I can't want for Brian to UFR this game. If for no other reason than to prove that Denard wasn't the source of our poor passing game so much as the receivers. (The only exception was the SECOND int, that was DRob's one really bad mistake of the night) |

| 43 weeks 10 hours ago | Helmet numbers |
Jersey talk aside for a moment, why would we suspend the use of helmet numbers for the rest of the season? As far as I remember the players seemed to really like having them, and shouldn't that be the only thing that matters? It's just a number, let them have it I say. As far as the actual jersey goes.... for some reason it strikes me as more of a hockey jersey than a football one... could just be me. |
| 43 weeks 2 days ago | I got it now! |
Mine showed up about 2 hours after I posted yesterday... making me feel just a tad foolish for being so impatient. Lesson learned though, and it was totally worth the wait. |

| 46 weeks 4 days ago | One number worries me... |
I understand that if in Mattison's second year, the rushing defense is better, that teams will start passing the ball more due to 3rd and long and whatnot. But even if teams are getting more passing yards per game, shouldn't the completion percentage DROP if the defense if doing it's job well? Just trying to understand if our secondary is something to start worrying about again, or if I am looking too deeply into the numbers posted. |
| 47 weeks 5 days ago | Not to burst your bubble... |
And lord knows I have no interest in the debate crap that won't stop on this board... but... Brady Hoke was not the coach for the 2010-2011 season. That was while RichRod was still here. Please... make your pitchforks dull and your fires safe when you come after me... >.> EDIT: Reread original post... and very confused, why would Hoke get credit for the APR When he wasn't hired until January 2011? |
| 49 weeks 2 days ago | In all fairness... |
If the fans had ever bothered to show up to Seattle games, and if the city would have built a new arena, you probably wouldn't have lost the team. Getting tired of listening to all the Seattle fans still crying about this crap when it was their fault to begin with. I honestly would have preferred that you kept the team, since the mere presence of an NBA team causes a rise in the local crime rates. You know about the shootings after Game 5 with the Lakers? Yeah, I'd rather you take them back. |

It was a mistake because the fans WERE NOT screaming against them the whole game. The fans were mostly in their seat, and pretty quiet for the most part, which is not like a typical Thunder game at all. Them Okies couldn't figure out which team they were supposed to be rooting for. |

Yeah, hockey that is $10 a ticket, AAA baseball that they practically have to pay people to watch, and a pretty solid zoo that isn't even one tenth of what the Toledo Zoo is. I'm sorry, I've lived in Oklahoma long enough to know that there is nothing redeemable about the city or the state. The fans show up for the big stuff, but they also whine and bitch about everyone being against them. It's because of the "fans" that I have developed a dislike of OU that is right on par with my Ohio hate.

| 1 year 3 weeks ago | I beg to differ.. |
The draft expert, Mel Kiper, predicted that if Denard entered the draft this year, he would be the #1 receiver on the board, drafted before Justin Blackmon. While I may not always agree with Mel, many NFL teams seem to take his word as though it were gold. DRob is a first round prospect at WR, even without ever playing a down at the position. |
| 1 year 3 weeks ago | Shame on you... |

Or... we could not be absolute assholes to teenage kids. We could respect their decisions and acknowledge them for their accomplishments and their talent. There is no reason that someone cannot wish a kid good luck in 11 out of the 12 games they will play on a yearly basis. Find a little bit of maturity, show some class, be representative of what it means to be a true Michigan fan. Good luck to Bosa, and as always, Go Blue. |

Didn't one of our recent tight end commits say that Coach Hoke told them Michigan would not be taking any more tight ends in this class? you have disappointed me in the following ways: 1. People complaining and/or making every argument possible against Boise State. And not just in the world, but on this very board. We have never played them, we most likely won't be playing them anytime in the near future. Quit your fucking bitching. They are a GOOD team, and their season has NO effect on our beloved Wolverines. Quit wishing bad things on them, and rooting for them to lose. We are Michigan fans, and we are above such petty squabbles. 2. Women, in general, have pissed me off this year. If your boyfriend beats you, don't believe you can change him. If you leave a good man for an alcoholic, don't complain about how he won't go to rehab for you. If you choose to date nothing but assholes who treat you poorly, don't complain to me or the other good men how you can't find a good man. Open your eyes, quit being stupid, and quit making excuses for your jerk-off of a man. The longer you complain, the less sorry for you I feel. 3. Men who don't step up and act like real men. Do not beat your women, quit your fucking drinking, and show the good woman that takes care of you and puts up with your shit everyday a little appreciation. You may not see it, but you aren't perfect, and plenty of women who AREN'T in love with you see it. Appreciate what you got and do better to be the type of man that your family can be proud of. 4. Oklahoma. Just the state in general. Everything about you, from your weather, to your residents, to your sports teams (Thunder aside) is absolutely horrible. Damn... that feels better.... Merry Festivus MGoBlog! |

For 5 years I have been asking that same question. I mean, this is the same state that passed legislation which said the state is exempt from laws passed by the federal government that they don't agree with. Texas isn't the only state stupid enough to try succeding from the Union. |
| 1 year 26 weeks ago | It IS a lame tradition... |
I live right here in the heart of Sooner country, and I swear, they are almost as bad as tOSU fans. There is something about the state of OK that makes the people believe they are better than everyone else. Constant PSA's about OK pride and how the people are the most giving in the nation and how the country would be nowhere without them hard working Oklahomans. Anyone in AA looking for a roommate? I'd love to be around civilized people again... (Only half joking here) |
| 1 year 26 weeks ago | Boise is acceptable... |
however, OU is not. Their loss should move them to the bottom of the one loss teams. Have you seen how horrendous TTU is? I would like to know how you justify the ranking of OU. |
| 1 year 27 weeks ago | Seriously, why the hate? |
Everyone has so much hate for Boise lately, and I don't understand it at all. They are a legitimately good team, and all they want is some respect. Is it fear? Because that is the only reason I can think of why my fellow UM fans would root so vehemently against a team that has NOTHING TO DO WITH US. They aren't in our conference, how well they do doesn't affect M at all, there is NO reason to root AGAINST them. I could compare some of you to the fans of a certain rival team of ours... -.- |

Unfortunately, not expecting such an amazing shirt that must be bought to appear, I hadn't budgeted well enough to buy the shirt when it was available. I also only get paid every two weeks, which of course, skipped the Friday when the shirt was available. So, Six Zero, if you do decide on another run of this shirt for those of us too unlucky to have got it the first time around, make sure you slap Brian until he front pages it everyday that it is available. Lord knows we don't have enough front page content! (Seriously, no sarcasm, offer the shirt again and front page it please. I'll make cookies for all involved.) |

But I'd much rather have a coach that I could have respect for. As much as I don't want Hoke, I'd feel better losing with him than I would winning with a sleazy guy like Miles. I can stand the pain of watching us lose under a good man (barely), I can't stand to watch us win under a (imo) shady and dishonorable man. |
| 2 years 19 weeks ago | Honestly, there are no better |
Honestly, there are no better options. I hate saying it, but it's true. I'm just wondering why we as a fanbase our hanging all our hopes on JH. Haven't we learned our lesson yet about placing all of our hopes on anything? In a related note, it seems like I haven't seen anyone mention Chris Peterson. Not only has he proven to be a more than capable coach with underrated talent, but he has shown the willingness to change his offense to suit his players. He isn't strictly Pro Style, he plays to the strength of the team. I'd like to see what he can do with a better talent pool. If he was willing to leave Boise anyways. |
| 2 years 19 weeks ago | Umm.... Barwis? I wouldn't |
Umm.... Barwis? I wouldn't mind keeping him, no matter who the coach is. |
| 2 years 19 weeks ago | Why JH? |
No offense to anyone here, but why are we so hung up on Jimmy? While I like his attitude, and his approach to the game, I'd prefer he not come to Michigan unless he plans to stay in it for the long haul. What good will it do us as a fanbase if we go through another 3 years of restructuring, have 1 awesome season, and then JH leaves for the NFL? I want a coach that wants to stay in college, not one who is just looking for the next best thing. Again, I don't want to rub anyone the wrong way, I just don't see very many people mentioning this possibility. |

I have always considered a "walmart wolverine" to be like a "band-wagon sooner." The difference in this case being that the Sooner's use a term that is recognized more in the sports world than walmart. Most people I have seen or heard use the term over the years have tried to imply that I was only a fan because the team was winning. They accused me of being susceptible to turn on my wolverines if they ever had a bad season. These accusations increased when I chose to move to OK, rather than stay in state and attend UM. After last season, many of those same people have stopped the insults. After realizing that after a bad season, I was still ready to systematically point out to them how the wolverines are better in every single way than their team. So, if you consider a "walmart wolverine" to be a band-wagon fan, then I would have to agree that the term is disgraceful. But for any other reason, as many have pointed out already, there is nothing to be ashamed of, as long as your fan-dom is loyal, true, and forever lasting. |
