Threet will probably start the next two years Like others have said, Threet is not some scrub. He was highly regarded and he is better than any other option currently on the team, even if he is not the prototypical RichRod QB. There are plenty of spread offenses such as Texas Tech that succeed without a running QB. Also, while I agree with Hennedance that RichRod will want to bring in his new QBs that better fit the system a la Phillip Rivers, these guys will be true freshmen. I at least expect Threet to hold onto the starting job for the better part of next year unless he really screws up this year. Remember, most true freshman QBs dont usually start unless forced to. Something along the lines of the a running package for the dual threat QBs will likely occur throughout Threet's time at QB.
Regarding your comments about Regarding your comments about the QB:
I think you are pretty much saying the same thing as me, that RR will play to the strengths of his players.

Placing too much emphasis on stars:
Players recruiting rating is an indicator of his talent level, which has been proven on this blog many times already. Although a high rating does not guarantee success (i.e. there are many other mitigating factors), it is has generally proven to be a good indicator of what is the player’s potential.

“Feagin would have been a minimum 4 star in most other states”:
Stars are not assigned by state.

“None of our players suck":
True none of our players really suck, but there are some who are marginal players. And it is okay to admit that not everyone on the team is amazing.

Our TEs are good blockers:
I don’t know if you watched last season, but they continuously missed blocking assignments.

My perception of the FB;
I said they don’t matter too much because I expect us to play two RBs often and it is the least important position on the offense. I don’t think you can honestly say you rather have a good FB than QB? RB? OL? Etc. Even for all the hype about Owen Schmitt, he only had 49 carries and 12 receptions, although he was a good blocker.

Criticizing me for writing my expectations:
This is a preview written by me. It should include my expectations.
Way to fix posting I had the same problem and found that if you copy-paste everything into Notepad before you paste it into the diary, it fixes the line break problems. Hope this helps.
To address some of the comments made Whether you enjoyed the piece and whether your opinions are different than mine is something beyond my control. The McGuffie thing is something I want to clear up though. I did not mean to suggest he can't be successful because he is white; I more wanted to bring up that white people generally don't play RB and those who have have not been successful recently. I dont mean to suggest that white people somehow have inferior genes or that they should not aspire to play RB, as I don't think this is the case. White people tend to play other positions and continue to be successful at those. Why is this the case? I make no judgment. I think of this as similar to the situation in baseball where the number of black players has declined. I believe reasons for such things are attributed to many factors besides race such as lack of interest in the sport/position, lack of access to fields/equipment, etc.
