Back in 1979 Slippery Rock played Shippensburg at the big house and 61,143 fans came. They also played Wayne state in 1981 and the attendance was 36,719. I think we can get enough Michigan fans in the stadium for a game since we haven't seen them play at the Big House in a while.
Les Miles is a proven coach that shows he can win. He is sleezy when it comes to recruits but the Big Ten will get on his ass about recruitng and he will learn quick that we don't recruit that way.
I sat first row in the student section a few years back maybe in 1999 or so. I saw to the left of me the student section just going crazy and yelling at someone on the field. Turned out it was Verne walking to the area with the landing and stairs right in front of me. The entire time I had people bumping me and trying to get pictures with him. He would only talk to girls that were attractive and overall was only interested in the game. Michigan players on the bench would come over and shake his hand. It was a really cool experience and he was definitely all about Michigan Football.
Whatever cheer we do, we need to do it together as much as possible and clear so the older fans can hear it and join in. If we have a consensus hopefully Brian will post it so everyone can see it clearly.
We now have the best QB and RB in the state. If Rich Rod wants to just get the top players of the state then I'm fine with that. The rumors that I was hearing about Austin White was that he was involved in some fights during the school year and that caused some disciplinary issues. I don't think it's that bad and at least it wasn't on the field fights.
After Grady left it made it three. We picked up Smotrycz which makes it two but we could pick it up if Wright left but I doubt he will. So we are left with possibly three but more likely two and that leaves Zeigler as our number one target. I think that Wright showed some great signs of being better towards the end of the year but I rather have those freshman come in.
I would love to get all four but we only have two spots left on the scholarships. We are going after Trey and Will Regan right now. The others are all backup plans for right now.
I heard this from a friends mom who is a nurse at uofm hospital. Warren has a broken ankle. I don't know how bad it is but i am sure he will be back by summer.
According to a sports reporter on WTKA today the city was supposed to get between 30-50 million dollars. The reporter from ESPN said it's only gaining about 18 million dollars because of the final four. This is because 95% of the student's at MSU are from the suburbs of Detroit which is why they don't bother to get hotels and eat at restaurants in the city of Detroit. So it is not as big of an economic boost to have MSU in the big dance it is rather the opposite. The city lost out on a potential 10-20+ because MSU is in the finals. So, the argument that it's good for the economy is crap. If they win it will bring the moral in the state up, but it won't generate 10-20+ million to the city of Detroit because of the win.
Do you think Duke is rooting for UNC? Your argument because I'm from that state makes no sense because proximity is what rivalry is usually stemed from.
You are not true blue if you root for state. I hate UNC but I hate MSU alot more. It's good for the economy that it's in Detroit but MSU fans actually decrease the money brought into Detroit because none of them stay in the city. Screw them because I'm a true Michigan fan.
There are two spots that i know for sure you can have an RV. Pioneer is a place where you can park and it is across from the stadium and i have no ideas about pricing. There is also a cheaper area near the CVS pharmacy on south industrial where I have seen many rv's parked there. Hope that helps
I heard Austin White was getting in trouble in school with fights all the time and other types of misconduct like that. To me that seems like MSU childish things so he can go there if he pleases because that's what MSU does (50 yard plant of MSU's flag at Notre Dame). I would much rather have Nick Hill who is a die hard Michigan fan and once offered will probably commit on the spot. But from everything I heard it was suppose to be D.J. Williamson from ohio. He comes from the same high school as Prescott Burgess and Manningham and I guess he has a man crush on Manningham.
This is why I don't read any of the posts on a forum because they are sometimes immature like this guy's. He doesn't even talk about sports, he posts stupid pictures and idiotic responses that are not needed on Mgoblog.
I agree with the article but I am primarily upset with the crowd members who will get into a fight with another fan because they refuse to sit down. Being a fan is different to each person and if you feel like you need to stand to be a fan then go do it. I always see in my section an old man yelling at another fan because he is standing up too much next to him. Being very very drunk is another story because it can get out of hand for the people in your section but for the most part they are still fans. It is very upsetting when I see childish fights like this and it should stop. Swearing in your section is going to happen and if someone tells you to stop because of a child then you should but at Michigan games is where I learned to swear mostly. I would love to see it louder but it will take more then shirts and towels to do it. GO BLUE!
According to Detroit channel 4 the Threet transfer is just a rumor right now and they said it was just a rumor within fan sites right now. They said nothing concrete about it. Rob Parker from detnews said that it wouldn't surprise him because he didn't do much for Michigan so if he transfers so what we have better players now.
I think that the reason MSU if the little brother is because it isn't really considered a big rivalry because MSU isn't a good football program overall. OSU at least is a better comparison to UofM football. If you get basketball involved then you can say we are a rivalry just in basketball because the overall record is much closer with only 19 games between UofM and MSU which UofM is leading. MSU never had a Bo vs. Woody old man hatred.
I don't think either of the three are coming to M. I think our class is done even though we could use another DT. Rich Rod said we won't just pick up some other guy up just to fill spots but we want Michigan guys with a good attitude. Most of the people who hasn't picked a school yet has grade issues and why pick them up when they are bad students and won't be able to play half the year because of it.
Why switch the uniforms? I say a night game is a great idea but I think leave the jersey's and helmets. Even if it is a night game the old people won't get drunk and they will just be more pissed at all the people standing and tell us to sit down because we are real fans. Get used to having quite crowds for now unless something is done.
I think it was an accident to tell you the truth. He apologized right after it happened and the announcers rights after told us he did. Novak in no way is a pig on the court as you claim. He is our hardest working player and you need to respect that it was either an accident or a mental lapse if it really wasn't an accident. Elbows are thrown all the time in college and in Pro bball a one game suspension is the norm. And in no way is this anywhere near the same as the MSU attempted murder on ice.
We finally have an old QB that is coming out and saying the things that most of us are thinking but we don't have a microphone around us. He is more of a Michigan fan then many of us, and he has been proving it by sticking with our team and telling everyone the truth about Rich Rod and this program. If we can all be like him we would have 100,000+ fans cheering their heads off rather then people telling us to be quite and sit down.

After watching the Cotton Bowl I think he would be a great fit in our offense. Their defense was aggresive and was after that ball.
