There were 11,000 people at that game...Bradley gets a good crowd of very passionate fans. Well except for their "B"..."U" chant! |
| 1 year 6 weeks ago | Record |
is 6 by teammates in the same season...I would say they can get to 8 or 9 realistically if they both stay healthy. |
| 1 year 13 weeks ago | There isn't much that I would |
There isn't much that I would be "too upset" about right now lol |
| 1 year 13 weeks ago | Agreed |
I agree that I will not be too upset, but (bias acknowledged) if I were him...I would not be able to get my fax in quick enough! |
| 1 year 15 weeks ago | I always thought... |
he was the love baby of Tom Arnold (as mentioned above) and Matthew Perry. |
| 1 year 16 weeks ago | I don't watch much film of high schoolers, |
but damn. Dude seems to pull-away by 15+ yards from everyone else! |

More than an octuple post! Great work! Beat OHIO! |
| 1 year 16 weeks ago | GR Press |
They ran this article in the Grand Rapids Press as well. Excited for the opportunities in front of Amara! |
| 1 year 17 weeks ago | For a 17-18 year old kid... |
you make a strong argument for OSU. : ) |
| 1 year 17 weeks ago | Awesome! |
I'm sure he will make a great addition to our class of 2027! |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | I'm pretty sure the OP meant |
the late 4th quarter drive (after fake punt), not OT. I could be mistaken though. |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | Definitely Woodson... |
or Mike Knuble. |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | RIGHT!? |
My facebook news feed was blowing up with Sparty fans talking about Michigan barely BEATING a team that got blown out by Clemson, who in-turn, got blown out by West Virginia. To this, I asked myself..."why do I have so many Sparty friends?" |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | I don't think that is exactly |
I don't think that is exactly the way probability works...independent events? lol |
| 1 year 31 weeks ago | There is a Beast in My Belly! |
Going with The Kraken and Dr. Pepper tonight. |
| 2 years 6 weeks ago | 5'9"? |
LOL!
But seriously. I would like to go down to the game tomorrow night!! How much are tickets going for? |
| 2 years 20 weeks ago | None |
He did recruit the players (almost all of which are less than 2 years from high school) He did chose the offense. It will work. Great young talent. He did chose the defense. Shouldn't have. Still lots of young talent. Even younger than the offense. He does own the results. Getting better. New it wouldn't happen overnight. Most of his first group of guys have at least 2 years of eligibility left and are the best players on the team. |
| 2 years 20 weeks ago | Don't just look at 1 aspect |
You cannot look at one aspect of anything and get a complete picture! As far as the offense is concerned: They are still quite young. The only skill players on the roster that are in their 4th year removed from high school are: Junior Hemingway, Martell Webb, and Kelvin Grady (who played basketball for 2 years)! Everyone else is either a true junior or younger. They are much improved from 2009, and I don't want to think about the year before (after losing Long, Henne, Hart, Manningham, Arrington, etc.). Yes, they did not put up a ton of points in the last 3 games. However, you cannot simply look at points as the metric of an offenses effectiveness. Nor, am I saying, that you could simply look at yardage...or any other single metric. However, in a different situation, we could definitely have put up more points in the bowl game (or OSU or Wisconsin). We missed a field goal from the red zone. We got in to the red zone a couple other times...and being down had to go for big plays rather than running the offense, and eventually failed on 4th down. I agree with you that the offense is not GREAT yet, but they are clearly on their way. Help from special teams and defense would be obviously helpful! Special teams is the easiest of the two to turn around. Rich has received a committment from a well regarded kicker (let's not forget that Gibbons was well regarded as well). Hagerup seems decent (save frustrating block) and was a true frosh. The defense is bad. Although I do see potential. All the freshmen that we are playing is semi-encouraging... also, in my epinion, I thought they played pretty well in many games this year, including the bowl. You can yell at me all you want (52 POINTS OMG), but they really didn't play THAT terribly. They simply need to make a couple plays on 3rd down (and when they do make that play, make another one on 4th). With the exception of the 80some yard dump-off, I thought they played hard and decent. I see potential... Now, go look at the schedule next year... |
| 2 years 20 weeks ago | Agreed |
I like Rich Rod a lot, and do think (given the opportunity) that he could definitely turn us into a national championship contender year in and year out. However, there is simply no way that we can keep him now. We have backed ourselves into a corner with holding out the decision until now. I thought we should have come out and given him resounding support and assurance a month ago. We didn't.
DB simply cannot bring him back without losing credibility, even if it would be the best decision. If RR came back, it would be extremely tough sledding on the recruiting trail...and we could easily be in the same situation next year (even though I do see a SUCCESSFUL 2011 if RR was coach).
All in all, Rich did not get a fair shake. He ran into a bad situation, without adequate support. Unfortunately, he has to go. |
| 2 years 20 weeks ago | 2007 |
Those two years followed a SEVERELY dissappointing season (8-4) with guys like Mike Hart, Chad Henne, JAKE LONG, Mario Manningham, Adrian Arrington, etc... I feel like the transition was more difficult with Threet, Mathews, Ferrara, and an injured Molk... |
| 2 years 20 weeks ago | ahhh |
I hope you are right, but it doesn't seem like a good way to rally the fanbase around the guy. RR definitely deserves better than he has received in the last 3 years... |
| 2 years 20 weeks ago | Midwest |
Are we really all that concerned with midwest recruiting? There isn't traditionally a whole lot of talent (save Ohio) in the region, especially for a RR offense. I would say he has done very well recruiting talent-rich areas like Florida... |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Right |
Yes. I am not saying that he isn't good by any means. Quite the contrary. He is about as perfect of a defensemen as humanly possible! The guy has done everything asked of him for almost 20 years (after being a 3rd round draft pick!). I was also not saying that he doesn't put up any numbers, I was just mentioning his goal totals are not CRAZY and it isn't all that surprising that he hasn't had a hat trick in his amazing career. I was saying "scoring defenseman" as in goal-scoring. You used "scoring defenseman" as in point-scoring. If the wings needed him to score 30 goals a year (a.k.a. Mike Green) while reducing his role in the aspects I described above, then I have no doubt he could serve that role. Especially in the late '90's. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Double edit |
Apparently I did read it correctly, and it was now edited? |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Big Chill |
Big Chill hasn't made the list?
EDIT: Just read the post, not the Subject. It does say "football" up there...but Big Chill could still be included "Big House"! |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Agreed |
That was pretty sick, even though I thought he was going to be caught (not possible)! Also liked 75 yards to Roundtree on opening play of the game... |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Can't help it |
Cannot help but be optimistic for these guys. I was expecting a miserable season coming into it, with no 4th year player on the team (and no center or true big). They have been very impressive thus far, and I hope they continue to progress! |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Surprising |
This one is surprising. A guy with his talent, in his 9th year in the league and typically scores in the neighborhood of 30 goals a year would usually have a hat trick (in the regular season) under his belt. |
| 2 years 22 weeks ago | Nick |
It isn't really all that surprising. I mean the guy is a defenseman. He has only scored 20 goals over an entire season once. He has never been about gaudy statistics...he just does everything right. I am sure if his team needed him to take on the role of a scoring defenseman, he could have done it. However, the wings just need him to be a leader, puck mover, shut-down d' man, and power play quarterback. |
