Raylan Givens : You run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. You run into assholes all day, you're the asshole.

I listened to the discussion on WKTA. I'm perplexed how anyone could be offended by an in depth discussion about a sensitive situation by four extremely professional adults. If all of our political and social discourse took this approach, our world would be such a better place.

And then you have the 6 year old petulant child throwing a fit on twitter and demanding the discussion be taken down.

LONDON – The emails, tweets and blog posts in the “abuse” folder that Michael Sharpe keeps on his computer continue to pile up. Eight years after he published results of a clinical trial that found some patients with chronic fatigue syndrome can get a little better with the right talking and exercise therapies, the Oxford University professor is subjected to almost daily, often anonymous, intimidation.

This is Ace. A petulant, miserable person who finds a way to turn on the very people donating their money to support him. Amazing.

what a great day

Go Blue!!

this is so awesome

Had enough reason to root for Western this season (they open against MSU at home), but this cements them as my 2nd favorite university in Michigan.

Go Broncos!!

Kerridge was the only walk on Kerridge was the only walk on to get a scholarship. The Glasgows did not receive one this season, which is hard to believe, but true. I would assume all three get one next fall baring injury, so bottom line your number won't change.
Why are some of these dated from the future

Isn't it December 8th?

Why are people tweeting from the future?!?!

man ball

try handing the ball to #36.  on most plays he has five yards before he levels the lb.

The players uniformly support The players uniformly support this staff which is no surprise, everyone here except the 5th year seniors were recruited by Hoke and Co. This coaching staff is all they know and they love them. I may disagree, but I can't fault them, they just want to win. Glad they got one tonight, but a change is needed.
I agree, it is not fair to I agree, it is not fair to lump them all together and many came out today to support the current players. Just reporting what several families went through last weekend. Go Blue.
This is why I felt I needed This is why I felt I needed to post. It makes no sense whatsoever, they support the current administration yet trash the players, in front of their families. Maybe it was just a few bad apples, but nothing would surprise me at this point.
Do you read this blog. I'd Do you read this blog. I'd assume so considering you have 20000 mgopoints.

prognosis

I certainly wish McCaffery and his son the best and knowing the numbers should give people hope.

There are four types of primary thyroid cancer, papillary, follicular, medullary and anaplastic. The survival rate for early stage (I or II) papillary, follicular and medullary is almost 100%. Even stage IV papillary and follicular cancer have a >50% prognosis. Anaplastic is a bad player and almost means certain death, but usually found in an older population. We can only hope and pray for the best.

GOOOOAAAAAAAL

GOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLLL

Hold on.

Are you telling me

Hold on.

Are you telling me we might have to face a good basketball team en route to a national championship?

NOOOOOOO SAY IT AIN'T SO

Izzo and Valentine

Is there a worse relationship between player and coach in the NCAA?

Tonight he spent a timeout screaming at Valentine for getting hammered on a drive to the basket in transition that was an egregious no-call. Izzo singled him out multiple other times, and then the icing on the cake was when Valentine tried to give the ball to the offical at the end of the game a couple seconds early and Izzo almost lost his shit. I swear stuff like this happens every game and the unintentional comedy of the toxic Izzo - Valentine relationship is the only way I can stomach to watch MSU basketball.

So happy for these guys, they

So happy for these guys, they work so hard and all contribute a significant amount to this team and program.

First trip to Columbus for me

Drove from Indianapolis with my wife early Saturday morning and met up with my parents and some friends. We parked at the Special Olympics lot that people on the board were talking about leading up to the game, they were great, even saved my parents a spot while we waited for them to arrive. We had a great time tailgating there, multiple OSU fans came up and introduced themselves, welcomed us, told us to have a great time, I was caught off guard to say the least. There were several O-H-I-O/Go Blue exchanges as more people arrived but no trash talk. The walk to the game was a little different, we were joking about not using the porta-john alone for fear of getting tipped over, but everyone was nice to us. There were a few exceptions close to the stadium, but for every fan that yelled F-Michigan at us, there were 3-4 apologizing and wishing us good luck. We were in the family section for the game (my younger brother is on the team) so we were insulated from the OSU fans. The stadium was pretty impressive and loud, I thought it was a great atmosphere for sure and loved every minute of it (besides the result of course).

After the game it was a different world...

It was as if all the OSU trolls came out from under their rocks and bridges and descended upon us. We were waiting for the players to come out by the bus and it was like the worst offenders flocked over to talk shit. I think I heard the "we don’t give a damn about the whole state of Michigan..." chant about 50 times in the span of 20 minutes. I had "F-Michigan!" yelled directly to my face even more, about 35% of the time it was from a woman.  I laughed and took it in stride since they had every reason to be excited. The best part was that they were all idiots and didn't know how to respond to us saying good luck in their bowl game or clapping along to their stupid chants. The OSU event staff finally got their shit together and blocked off a large portion leading to the player buses so the families could see the players without being bombarded with a chorus of "F- Michigan!" chants.

My favorite moment of the day occurred on the walk back, we were walking back as a group with a couple families, and one fine trailer trash specimen came up to us and started yelling "FUCK MICHIGAN, GO HOME YOU FAGGOTS, etc..." He was walking the opposite direction, but turned around and was walking along side JT floyd's cousin who was just taking it in stride and out of nowhere he lunges at the guy and says "BOO!" I kid you not I think this kid pooped his pants. He flew backwards (no one touched him) and had the look of death on his face, he was so embarrassed and didn't know what to do because everyone including OSU fans were laughing at him. He tried to play it off and hi-five us, but we were having nothing of the sort and told him to go change his pants.

We were taunted the entire way back but I was laughing and we never had anything thrown or dumped on us, I was expecting the worst but it really wasn't bad at all. Overall it was a great experience and I can't wait for 2014 when we are running the system Borges is comfortable with, or he has been replaced...but that is a discussion for another thread (or 7), amiright?

GO BLUE.
We only need to jump 5 more

We only need to jump 5 more spots, I figure a win over Ohio would give us a 3-4 spots and we would only need another team or two in front of us to lose to get in the top 14.

At this point there is no chance Nebraska loses to Iowa.

What a great spotlight for

What a great spotlight for the program and university, Brandon probably set it up so we have to give him credit, albeit begrudgingly.

violated team rules

He didn't make the trip because he violated team rules and let's just leave it at that. He is not in any legal trouble and is healthy.

Scholarships
Most of the walk-ons that were awarded scholarships today were 4th or 5th year seniors. I know 5 of the 7 definitively and they are:
  • Paul Gyamarti (FB)
  • Steve Wilson (QB)
  • Mike Kwiawtoski (TE)
  • Joe Reynolds (WR)
  • Joey Burzynski (G)

Just to clarify a few things regarding scholarships for walk-ons. Once a walk-on has been on campus for 2 years, giving them a scholarship counts against the 85 but does NOT count toward the annual limit of 25. Even with a large class of 2013, there will still be several walk-ons that get scholarships.

Hoke called them all up on

Hoke called them all up on stage in front of the team and then said they were all getting scholarships. Everyone went nuts. I love Hoke.

Look at the NFL

Home games until the Super Bowl, seems to work great. I hate the SEC...

And, once, again, it's really cool. It's a way to make interregional games happen, only with higher stakes. It's a way to bring weather into the equation – all weather is football weather. It seems ideal.

"The NCAA tournament is not played on home floors – for a reason," SEC commissioner Mike Slive.

Please, no more comparing football to basketball. It's one of the great canards of all time. Why not use NCAA baseball as the standard and have double elimination?

Football is football and the applicable standard is the NFL, which uses home field until the Super Bowl.

definitely not OT

Good article, still think the higher seeded team who is actually in the playoff should decide where they play, not the conference.

Cool Story Bro

Fraizer and Taylor over Burke. I hate award shows...unless Michigan is getting them.

Draymond wins Player of the Year, I dont think anyone is surprised.

StubHub - Ticketmaster- Scalp

There are 800 tickets on stubhub for Session 4 (Friday night Michigan and OSU games), and you can still get 4 tickets together on Ticketmaster. If Purdue wins Thursday, they will play in sesssion 4 friday night, but Indiana is in Session 3 so there is no way this game will sell out.

I would strongly advise against buying all-session passes, Michigan doesn't even play Thursday and you don't want to add insult to injury if Michigan loses and then you are stuck with tickets to 3 games you don't care about.

There were a ton of people selling tickets on the street last year, I think we lucked out that IU is on the other side of the bracket because there will be a lot of casual fans showing up at the game to watch them.

I have friends coming down and we are going to buy 4 tickets to Session 4 and then go from there depending on what happens.

Hope that helps.

Technically it is in a hotel,

Technically it is in a hotel, but it doesn't feel that way at all. Champoins is a huge bar with a couple projector screens and a ton of TVs. I'm actually surprised Nebraska got it because they are terrible and will probably have 13 fans there. They have really good food and it is a fun place when it is packed, I'd rather have Champions than O'Reilly's because that place was packed to the brim last year.

If you like chimney smoking

If you like chimney smoking red-necks, Slippery Noodle is the perfect fit! MSU fans everywhere are rejoicing.

You want to talk

You want to talk efficiency?

25 pts on SEVEN FG attempts. This is the THJ from last year and it is a welcome sight. We can make a serious run if Hardaway is playing to his potential and Smotz gets his shit together.

I wouldn't, imagine what

I wouldn't, imagine what Beilein could do with a 7-footer

Novak just not even close on

Novak just not even close on anything tonight.

Thanks Mark!!

Dantonio didn't even show up to his own Junior day

After enjoying some schadenfreude over at the RCMB, it looks like Dantonio decided not to attend MSU's junior day today. Several prospects cancelled their visit and the biggest slap in the face has to be Kugler's commitment to Michigan.

Saint Dantonio must be doing his thing on a national recruiting search.

Dont forget a sweep of NMU in

Dont forget a sweep of NMU in hockey!!!

I drank as many Coors Lights as 4* commits we got today during the game!!!

W. Kerridge should be J.

W. Kerridge should be J. Kerridge in the FB slot for c/o 2015, although I'm flattered Brian thinks I'm a walk-on fullback on the depth chart!
