So who is coordinating the…

So who is coordinating the trolling of this board by consistently posting days old articles?  I commend you on the commitment.

Anyone who spends 30 seconds on this board knows Michigan news will be posted immediately.  Master troll job!!

I have both on one team…

I have both on one team. Harris actually scares me more than Robert’s bc of sophomore slump.  If both hit projected numbers I’ll be happy.

Feels like this is the year Robert’s and the White Sox take off.

Yes, I’m down for this…

Yes, I’m down for this discussion.

Thoughts on Luis Robert’s and Michael Harris?

Point 2 is the correct answer.

Jim will have to sacrifice his run game to get this team balanced.  God love Jim but it is really hard to ground and pound your way to a NC.

Jim has Bo's problem, just not diverse enough on offense.  Moeller and Carr enhanced the offense and got Michigan a NC and more bowl wins.

Hot Take:  Juwan will be…

Hot Take:  Juwan will be gone once his kids leave the program.  Michigan won't be sorry to see him go.

Brian doesn't suffer fools gladly.

She has witnessed a lot in…

She has witnessed a lot in her life, been involved in significant points in world history. The one thing I want to know is she team Cade or team JJ?

Defensive tackles, all of…

Defensive tackles, all of them.

You don’t understand the…

You don’t understand the issue.  The issue isn’t figuring out how to break DI into divisions or how to run a 16 team playoff.

You don’t answer the real question which is who has control and power and why would conferences and specific teams want to give up the control and power they have now for your proposal.

I read Junction Boys and…

I read Junction Boys and they wrote about  large sums of cash given to players in the 1950’s.  The book talked about how Bear Bryant got A&M put on probation.  It wasn’t because they were cheating, everyone did. It was because he was going into others teams ‘territories’ and it pissed them off so they went after A&M.

I’ve said it before and will keep saying it, college football has always been corrupt and dirty. It’s no different now then it was sixty years ago, if not longer.

The difference today is that college football is a prominent popular sport nationally.  College football was very regional for a long time.  Kids didnt venture to far from home and played locally for the most part.

Michigan hosted a high…

Michigan hosted a high school coaches clinic over the weekend. I assume he was involved with that.  I know a few coaches who went.  They were invited to practice on Sunday.

Why do you care if this…

Why do you care if this irritates a few people?

The common mistake people…

The common mistake people make is comparing the world of sports/entertainment to real word. No one cares if RickSnow is interviewing for a new job.  That companies investors, it’s customers and most employees have no idea who RickSnow is.  Losing RickSnow would mean nothing even if he is the greatest employee ever.

College Football head coach at Michigan isn’t a normal job.  Jim took a major gamble that no one knows the outcome of yet.  We might not know the answer to that for a few years.

What is a real contributor? …

What is a real contributor?  Calling someone an idiot or twat count as a contributor?

I hope you are doing the…

I hope you are doing the same with trolls who attack anyone who says something that goes against party lines.  Hard to have a thoughtful discussion about Michigan or football in general when we have posters on this board who can't stand one thing that they perceive as a negative towards Michigan.

If you need an example just read through this thread.

He sure wasn't a savior.

He sure wasn't a savior.

Jim is a prime example of a guy with some tremendous coaching attributes but could just never pull it all together to sustain anything of substance. Nothing felt organized from his coaching staff to recruiting to offensive scheme.

I agree about being a DT, he…

I agree about being a DT, he could have easily been over 300 and been a force.

That isn’t true (double and…

That isn’t true (double and triple teams) on passing downs.  Gary was asked to do a lot in Don Browns defense, specifically when they played their base set.  Yes, he took on multiple blockers specifically agains the run.

When faced with passing situations Michigan adjusted which put Gary in a more traditional pass rushing set where he wasn’t taking on multiple blockers.

Gary wasn’t a great pass rusher at Michigan, he didn’t have the bend to get around the edge so he ran himself out of plays.  He was a very good player overall but not the disruptive force we’ve seen from other Michigan defensive lineman like Hutchinson.

The requirement to report an…

The requirement to report an interview doesn't apply to college coaches from what I heard on the radio yesterday.

Play JJ?

This should piss the masses off….Cade’s mechanics are very poor at times.  He needs to take ownership of it or he won’t be seeing the field much more at Michigan.

I enjoy when people use that to make themselves feel better about their favorite team, specifically after a loss.

I’m glad you brought that up…

I’m glad you brought that up bc I knew someone would bring it up and not understand the point.

You scheme new plays that are opponent specific….if you break a tendency against Maryland it won’t be any use to OSU because you aren’t attacking the same scheme or player. If it’s a new formation/play it again will be specific to Maryland.

The greater point that was missed is that Michigan is what it is ten games into the season. You aren’t hiding anything.

The idea of being vanilla…

The idea of being vanilla and hiding things is asinine….it’s ten games into the season, nothing is being held back.  You are what you are.  What have we been hiding…Cade has Vince Young running ability but we are hiding it for OSU?

If it takes 50 carries from HH then do it.  Win the game, no matter the cost.

You better believe Maryland is coming to win.

Funny how some think we are so good we can just name the score….That isn’t how this works.

Looks who is back!

God forbid that there are…

God forbid that there are people on this blog who look at stats and want to discuss there importance.

Maybe some people enjoy that part of the game.

What was posted wasn't inflammatory.  If the post isn't something you want to discuss or think about then move on.

In my years watching…

In my years watching football I have noticed a big factor in overall success is being able to recover when behind the chains.  No team will consistently face short yardage situations where you have the run / pass option.

The ability to convert those situations into first downs on a more consistent basis than your opponent is a huge advantage.

Where is the flaw in that logic or you just want to be snarky?

Good stat to highlight,…

Good stat to highlight, passing success rate on those downs and distances is important to look it.

If you are hoping for a Big Ten Championship or ten plus wins then you should be concerned.

If you are good with seven, eight or nine wins then don't worry about it.

I heard his status is single…

I heard his status is single....go for it!

It was mentioned a few weeks…

It was mentioned a few weeks ago on Mgoblog roundtable on WTKA from Craig that the numbers prove play action, regardless of how well you are running the football creates higher YPA.  I did not anticipate that statistic was true.

I am in agreement you would think if you are pounding a team that much you can take advantage of that at times.  I do think though passing/running are independent of each other, either you can do it or can't.  Being good at one doesn't mean it makes doing the other any easier in my opinion.

Since you want to compare…

Since you want to compare Cade to Zach Wilson I will agree you don’t know what a high level D1 QB looks like.

It’s amazing how sensitive…

It’s amazing how sensitive fans can be.  He is limited physically; height, overall size, arm strength, quickness, speed ect.

That doesn’t mean it’s doom and gloom as I pointed out in my post. There are things he can do to mitigate that but McNama isn’t your ideal physical specimen for a high level DI qb.

The guy who built this blog agrees with this.

Physically he is limited but…

Physically he is limited but he could have a huge impact by making the right reads and being an accurate passer.

You really think OSU, Bama…

You really think OSU, Bama and Clemson just started offering benefits and money to players 20 years ago?  I hate to tell you but benefits and money have been happening in college sports since the start.

College sports has always been corrupt, probably more corrupt when it exploded in the '20's and '30's.  Yet Michigan has the most wins in college football history.

Leadership and coaching is the problem with Michigan.

My initial thought as well. …

Maybe no one wants to speak of the possible impending doom of 2021?  I can make a strong case this teams doesn’t finish above .500 with a healthy losing streak to end the year.

I want to see McNamara and if he really is a true passing threat.  Hoping the coaching staff realizes Haskins has to be the workhorse.

Afraid of the defense in general.  Hope they can make a few stops but that defensive line doesn’t look promising.

It’s always someone else’s fault.

I don’t think you could put two coherent paragraphs together anyway so good idea to not start.

Great leaders deal with ego’s and  figure out how to manage them.  Jimmie Johnson was a master at this.  Bo Schembechler was pretty good as well along with many others.

Why so many lousy attitudes on this team?

That whole players not…

That whole players not worrying about winning is a damning statement to make.  That is your fault Jim!

Jim can't figure it out. Maybe if Jim can develop a coherent offense and not employee a maniac as D coordinator things would be a little different.

Just another example of why Jim isn't the right coach for Michigan.

Mark Dantonio never won a league title at Cincy.  Guess he wasn't good enough.

Gary Moeller didn't win anything at Illinois before winning a few titles at Michigan.

Izzo and Carr won NC with zero head coaching experience.
