that's all

This

You phrased that much better than I did.

it's insane. I mean I would never boo and yes I think it's kinda lame but I'm not going to cry about it.

The season isn't over yet, it's going to be a long 2 weeks before the next game but that's what we have now.

Question

What's next Rome wasn't built in 4 years?? 5 years lol

Sorry

8 or 9 wins is what basically got Carr out of favor with the fans

Fire Rodriguez

This thread got me thinking and I just googled fire rodriguez and there has been a site since he was hired here lol. Guess I missed that one.
I thought this was a pretty new concept over the last couple weeks but I guess I was wrong.

LOL

A football snob fighting with a child...funny stuff.

I actually feel bad for the people around both of you

Dumb on their part

I was at the Wisc game a few years back 2 kids sitting close by had a cow bell and had the go blue thing going and the usher came over and took it from the kids. They might have been 12 -14 years old.

Pretty lame but they are everywhere.

I don't know what is worse, some radom guy or an actual employee of the school/stadium.

Questions

Doesn't Kellen Jones weigh like 215??
I don't see a true freshmen at MLB making the D better. Then again there isn't much to pick from. I'd love to see Jake Ryan jump up and snag the spot but that's going on absolutely nothing aside from he redshirted and should be physically ready more than Jones who is just coming in. I don't know maybe Kinard projects in the middle that would be cool too.

The 4 or 5 stars will be committing? To Michigan?? Who??

I don't need the list, I just don't see any locks from any high profile guys that plays MLB or DL for that matter.

Favor

During the Circle of Terror, could you please run out and ask Mike Barwis to sign a program and could you send it to me?

Thanks

RB's

The way the season is starting out I think Michigan needs Thomas Rawls in addition to Dee Hart.

Ol time B10 football

Sounds like Bo but against uconn they MUST stop the run plain and simple.

On offense I wanna see Denard come out zippin the ball around and open up that Defense early. Keep them guessing the whole game and that starts on the first drive.

Probably

the best hands of any RB Michigan has had as well as all of the above.

TX

Austin, Tx

#1

I wish Braylon would for once keep his mouth shut.

It will be funny to see the Jets fall on their face this year while Henne and Brady both have their way with them.

Plus

It's time to see TROB and Gallon and see what they can do as well. I don't know where Grady is playing but he might be there too.

Plus it gives them a chance to redshirt a WR or two who aren't ready.

It's a great move and of course he could always move back as well.

Me too

I was there for a loss as well (Henne and Hart's first yr)

It was a nice place to see a game but South Bend isn't much of a city.

The people were pretty nice and I was surprised how easy I scalped a ticket.

Nope

Haven't heard his name and the only thing I've heard about Mike Jones was he was held out of the scrimmage with Mouton.

Draft

Cribbs was a QB I believe in college and wasn't drafted till late but Cleveland knew they had something there that first camp.

Lewan and Omameh on Offense. I just can't see many skill guys going real high. I can certainly see a few having a Stevie B type NFL career once they get to the league though.

Roh and Big Will could go that high. Jury is still out on many others. There are some possibilities here though.

Crowd

This is far from the first time that I have read where Michigan Stadium is tame.

It's been true for the most part, of course there have been times where it's been loud but it's fairly accurate.

I always thought Michigan fans are a little like Boston Red Sox fans before they won the series. It's like ya we're winning but we'll blow it in the end just wait and see.

I'm not saying everyone in the stadium is like that but there is that element there.

I've sat by the sit down shut up crowd, I've sat by people who talk about shopping all game long, I've sat by book readers during the game etc etc...

This will be my 17th yr having season tickets. It will be interesting to see how many of those "quiet types" move up to the boxes and how the boxes actually help keep in the noise. We'll actually find out before the game with the help of Brock!!

Big Red

I grew up close to Steubenville. Jimmy the Greek, Dean Martin and I were all born there!!

They have been a powerhouse for years, not many D1 prospects but they were always good. I knew Gardner was something special when they went down there and won last year, plus you pretty much have the officials to worry about too.

Cincy's QB came out of Steubenville Zack Colaras or however you spell it.

They usually send alot of kids to Mount Union and Youngstown St.

YES

As stated above, from just a history standpoint. I'd like to have a winning record against everyone Michigan has ever played.

Seems to me........

Preseason is pretty busy, gametime is pretty busy but after a loss it's pretty bad. A good win?? well I think most are drunk and can't type.

Pitt

I grew up in Ohio but maybe 30 min from Pittsburgh. I lived there right around the time PSU was joining the B10 and was told countless times how PSU would dominate.

It was pretty rough being a non-Steeler and a UM fan.

Austin, TX

http://scurvybrother.blogspot.com/

I made a place where I could put my pics and stuff and it might give you some ideas for some day trips and such. I moved to Austin last Sept, if I enjoyed my job I'd be a little more gung-ho about the place but I try to make the most out of it.

Went downtown and biked along the river this evening, if you don't have a mountain bike you should get one when you get here. Biking is free and drinks are pretty cheap on 6th street.

I try to stay away from I35 as much as I can. It's hard to do in some cases though.

Predictions

QB - Sousa

RB - Hart

WR - Conway, Jordan

OL - Miller, Fisher, Martin, Ball, Walsh, Bryant

DL - Rock, Cooper

DE - Beyer, Drew

ILB - Jones      would absolutely love to get Dawson or Laquinten Smith but not holding breath

OLB - Fingers crossed for B Jackson or maybe Dugan

S - Avery Walls

CB - Hollowell, Brown, and Showers

List

Best

1 Michigan was in control of that game and then a couple freak plays and it looked like PSU was going to put Michigan to sleep. Justin King was a DB we all pretty much thought was a Michigan lock and he ended up going to PSU and was burned for a TD that game which was sweet but was overshadowed by the incredible ending.

2 Another game Michigan looked like they were going to run away with but FG's were a nightmare and made it much much closer than the game actually was. After the freakish way UW won at home the year before Michigan was due for a win against them. I went to Pine Knob to see the Tragically Hip after the game so it was a long really fun day.

3 What can you say about this one? It was like Indian Summer to begin the game and it was artic like conditions in the second half. Verr strange. I was so pissed off on how they looked it was just sickening and somehow they won the game. It was the typical Carr game, they were unprepared and looked like crap but once they HAD to open it up and put their talents to actual use they pulled it out.

5 Night game, PSU, it was pretty neat. PSU fans are much better in person than on the internets

10  I truly thought this game was the start of something special....I was wrong but it was a nice tease and could watch this game everytime it's on BTN.

11  Purdue's stadium is like a big HS stadium. Hart went over 200 yards and the Shazor hit was incredible. That was probably the last thing that Shazor ever did. He pretty much mailed in the rest of the season and his career pretty much ended that day. Marlin had a great game that day as well even though it seemed like everytime he broke a pass up he was called for interference. Their WR's looked like midgits.

Worst

4 A couple plays stick out to me this day. Sheridan's pick right before the half was a killer. There was a 3rd down play where Sheridan was just tripped up by a shoelace and if he didn't they would have had the ball probably on Utah's 40 or so instead of giving the ball back to Utah. Still.....Michigan wins that game if it wasn't for one of the most impressive kicking performances I have ever seen. That Utah kicker was incredible and I believe he was the punter as well. I also believe that guy was an All-American.

7 Another incredible blunder. Michigan was up 14 and looked to run away with the game but they had to pack it in, give the opponent momentum and just piss the game away just like against MSU the clockgate year, just like Purdue when they had a 2 TD lead only to lose on a FG, just like the NW game where they were up by 17 or 14 and give up 50 some and lose. Talk about a shitty ride back to Cleveland.

10 It's like this game was just a bad dream and didn't actually happen. So I'm not going to try to rehash it.

Obi

I take it nobody has had a back problem on the board.

Couldn't even imagine trying to run let alone play football with a bad back or any sort of back injury.

These injuries won't be so costly when we finally get some depth in place.

MLG

Maple Leaf Garden was awesome and I was glad I got to see a game there.

Old Tiger Stadium was really cool I thought.

osu stadium did nothing for me but ND was pretty cool to see but it's not Michigan Stadium or the Rose Bowl.

All NFL stadiums pale in comparison to the college atmosphere IMO. Never been to a Super Bowl but I saw the Pats beat the Steelers in Pa in the AFC Champ. one year and even though it was a big game it's nothing compared to a college game.

Since I am here in Austin now I'm going to try to get to most of the TX schools and make my way over to see Kellen Jones play and maybe catch a bowl game or two before I get the hell out of here.

question

Does he have Mickey Johnson's number?? Wouldn't hurt to get a 4 star DL to come North as well.

How many DB's do they take? Holowell, Brown, Kitchen

Walls will have a spot regardless who gives their verbal I imagine. Probably Crawford as well.

Where does that leave Showers and a couple PA kids?

I'm excited about this class - looks like OL, CB, DE depth will be taken care of.

Onto the LB's!!!

Kobe

Kobe Bryant is still the best player in the league.

I think the Lakers will play the Bulls in the finals next year.

I think he stays

in Cleveland

I feel old

I lived in Cleveland from 97 to 09 and it just seems like a year or two ago I watched Lebron play against Dion Sims at Cleveland State in a HS game

First thing

The first thing I thought of when he was going to announce on ESPN was that James is the black Jimmy Clausen.

Atleast Clausen can use immaturity as an excuse.

No order

My list isn't ordered by importance.

I just want to see all the improvements on the field before I take those things off my list that's all.

My concerns with stretching the field is with Stonum who has been inconsistant and Hemmingway who has found a way to be injured each yr. It's possible a Frosh comes in and grabs some time but I have concerns with those guys.

The OL alone should be able to get Michigan to a bowl game at the very least this year.

Concerns

I have alot of concerns.

#1 - Tate keeping TO's to a min. / DROB making right decisions and both staying healthy

#2 - We have #'s at RB but I wanna see how it shakes out on the field.

#3 - Being able to stretch the field

#4 - LB play in general and depth considering this is the last yr for Ezeh and Mouton. It would be nice to see Demens, Bell and Jones get some time and show some promise.

#5 - JT Floyd and the Safety position.

#6 - I really hope that the TE's can catch the ball this year.

#7 - New Kicker and Punter

NO

I would have been happy if he would have been canned after Michigan gave up over 50 to NW.

I threw up in my mouth a little when I read this for a number of reasons.

Expectations

Well there is David Bowens, Jon Ritchie, Fargas who all went on to play pro ball but didn't finish @ UM.

There is June, Burgess, Butterfield, Grady Brooks, Shazor, Watson, Massey, Rasheed Simmons, and I'll say Schilling as well although he isn't done. These guys were all 4-5 star guys who never really lived up to 5 star status. Sazor and Watson for sure had their moments but I was always expecting more. Hell Branch could go there as well and Mouton although he went through different coaches and positions.

Exceeded - Hart is the ultimate. It's hard because I've followed recruiting for such a long time, getting The Wolverine paper delivered even before I had internet access. Michigan always recruited so well and there was so much hype for most of the players in the class. D Jones was one here. I believe he had some injury which cost him his Sr yr and camps and such and was I think one of the last players to sign that year. He was an incredible LB for Michigan. Andre Weathers was a good story and really did well opposite of Woodson. Roundtree for sure is one who has exceeded so far. There could be alot to add to this list after this year.

Places to move to

I was transfered from Cleveland to Austin and I was excited after everything that I read.

It sucks, I hate it and I want to get back to the midwest.

Everyone has different opinions of places and such but you have to decide for yourself. I did't have much of a choice it was Topeka, Tallahassee or Austin and I chose wrong this time but that's just me.

Being in NY you may not be saving a whole lot but atleast you have SOMETHING.

Good luck, I saw TOOL in Cedar Park a week ago and Maynard said everything is going to work out so that made me feel much better.

Brady

I didn't think that Brady kid did anything till he got with Weis.

He looked pretty good this game although they lost cause of Plaxico's big game.

I'm really confused.

Bball

It's not going to be a long season, it's going to be a fun and exciting season and I expect these guys to have fun and get better as the year goes along.

We aren't going to know a true starting 5 till probably mid Dec but that's a pretty good guess I would say.

Pro sports

I think the 4 major pro sports are all watered down.

I would love to see the 3 sports (football, basketball and baseball) cut 2 teams

NHL needs to cut 4 and get a damn TV contract worth something

I'd be all for Seattle getting a basketball team again. I'd rather see it come from one of the existing teams. We don't need any more expansion.

My suggestions would be - Jax and St Louis for the NFL

KC and Florida in the MLB

NBA would be harder since there are so many crap teams but I'd go with Memphis and the Clippers

The NHL - that would be tough since half the league is broke aren't they? But off the top of my bald head I would go with Atlanta, Florida, Anaheim and Phx since they are in fact broke last I read. And since I'm making up rules, take the Blue Jackets out of Columbus and give them to a Canadian city.

OL

He's also buddies with a huge DE recruit in next years class Jordan Diamond.

This is good news

Addicted

I don't consider myself addicted but my eyes swelled up a little and I got a little overwhelmed when TomVH said he was going to be out of town for a week.

Can we get one of those plane trackers going to see when he will be back??

List

Carlin is the all-time best

David Cross is really good

My favorite is Bill Hicks

9 games

I'm for the 9 game schedule and I'm also playing ND 2 yrs on and 2 yrs off. It would be nice to schedule some SEC teams and who knows it might help with recruiting.

Another advantage would be you would still be a strong contender for the National Championship with a loss.

Manny

Cavs should have picked Simms up too.

As frustrated as I got sometimes with Simms and Harris, I think it's great that Michigan gets a couple guys to the pros again.

Game Tapes

I started taping years ago as well, just too lazy to put them up to DVD or you tube. I sometimes hate Classic cause it cuts out too much at times but it's better than nothing. I also feel a little jealousy toward the historian cause I say that could have been me. I probably have more stuff than he has actually along with 3/4 of all Super Bowls etc etc. I got the tapping bug probably around the early 90's, later 80's.

Capturing VHS to DVD is such a pain in the ass.

there used to be some sites and I got into trading for games and concerts bootlegs etc. it was a lot of fun.

I know it used to be a hush hush type thing but I have even seen a few games on ebay.

Trading is better than buying or selling, that is where you would get into some trouble.

Chris Bryant

I was thinking Michigan had a decent shot at C Bryant on the OL but now it seems like he is looking hard at msu.

Still holding out hope for the OC from Ohio

they still have a shot with Fisher, Ball and the OL from Toledo so hopefully they pull in 5 good ones.

I feel your pain

I'm a Leafs fan

I want

to root for the Jets but I like Henne and Long for Miami and Brady much better
