I've seen the replay...well, far too many times now, but I'm interested in what may have happened with Ferrell on Jordan's tip attempt.
It appears that he could have gotten his hand up on Morgan's hand as he had the ball and hit it just enough to put a little extra mustard on Morgan's attempt. As you know, the ball came off the glass to the front of the rim, where it teased the Wolverine faithful for a second or two, and then rolled off to a slow, painful death.
It's also possible that Ferrell's hand never reached Jordan's and that Jordan just put it up with too much on it (as we've seen him do before).
As I've watched over the season, we don't do a very good job (Jordan and Mitch in particular) on tipped balls. Would have been nice if Jordan would have been able to catch that one and jam it in, as we've seen GRIII do on more than one occasion. Of course, they aren't the same type of player/athlete.
Would like to see Jordan and Mitch go up stong with two hands, pull down the rebound and go back up with a strong jam. You're big guys..... play big, play strong.

|4 years 8 weeks ago||Stats don't lie....||
It wasn't the only reason we lost tonight but a big part of it. The officials decided that the game was going to change once Michigan went up 15 with 10 mins left. All of sudden, Penn State was bailed out whenever they needed points with fouls racking up on Michigan. If Penn State drove the lane it was a blocking foul on Michigan. If Michigan drove the lane, it was a charge.
The officiating has gotten much worse, with the worst this season. They don't know the difference between a charge and a block to save their life. They seem to want to be a part of the game, when frankly, they should be almost invisible if their doing their jobs correctly.
Sad....very sad what has happened in College BB.

IU leaves rival guards off Naismith release
Indiana University might want to forget about him, but Trey Burke is definitely still around
The Hoosiers put out a news release Tuesday bragging that they have two finalists — Cody Zeller and Victor Oladipo — for the Naismith Player of the Year Award.
Oddly, the list at the bottom of the release has only 28 names, although 30 finalists were chosen.
The first name missing was that of Burke, generally considered Oladipo's biggest rival for the Big Ten Player of the Year award and a strong contender for the Naismith Award. Burke is averaging 18.9 points, 6.9 assists and just 1.8 turnovers per game while leading Michigan to No. 4 in the latest Associated Press poll.
Along with Burke, the Hoosiers also left Rotnei Clarke, a senior from nearby Butler University, off the list.
When contacted by FOXSportsDetroit.com, J.D. Campbell, Indiana's senior assistant athletic director for media relations, said that the missing names were just an oversight.
"We will get it fixed," he said. (they did btw)
Top-ranked Indiana finishes the regular season at Michigan on March 10, a game that still could decide the Big Ten championship. Their chances of winning would go up exponentially if Burke somehow ceased to exist.

Before Hardaway Jr. made his 3 (which really was fortuntate becuase we didn't run a good play at all there) we had missed our last 6 shots. A couple were layups.
Same thing in OT. McGary gets the steal but misses an easy one,...Hardaway Jr. too hard off the glass. ...ugghhh...
Agree with the other posters that we need to guard the inbounds play. Way too easy for these guys (Turner and Brust) to catch, take a dribble of two and get the shot off.

Go back and look at the reply again. Applying the laws of physics to this, there is no doubt in my mind that the ball is in the air when Milner pushes Roundtree out of bounds at the 35 yard line.
Look at Milner...as soon as he pushes Roundtree he sees where the ball is going and keeps on running to the 50 yard line to track it down and catch it.
All that the "crack" broadcast team can say is "look at how physical the 6' 1", 200 lb. Milner is.
I bet if that was his beloved bucknuts, and and Ohio WR was pushed out by the DB, he would have been crying for a federal investigation.

Just as luck would have it, a motorist in a vehicle passing in the opposite direction, reached out and picked the jewelry out of the air, turned his vehicle around and caught up to the police car as they pulled into the Great Falls Police Department facility, turning the jewelry over to the officers.
A spokesman for the Great Falls Police Dept. made the following statement, " We want to thank Mr. Woodson for retrieving this evidence for us. We had no idea that he was on a fishing trip here in Montana and hope that he enjoys his stay. We also wish him the best of luck in the upcoming NFL season with the Packers."

A source close to Illini AD Mike Thomas has indicated that Thomas has been a bit confused when discussing the coaching search, specifically in regard to Ohio.
Word is that he isn't sure if he's getting the Ohio State coach or the Ohio coach.
But, the source added, Thomas just shrugged his shoulders and said, "What the hell, they both made the tourney and we didn't, so who cares which one we get".

In light of keeping with tradition and letting the players blow off some steam, Coach Izzo canceled the flight back to East Lansing, and instead, had the AD rent a RV that contained a number of couches in it. "I figured, what the hell, the students are upset and burning things back home....we might as well be a part of that tradition and join in the festivities", commented Izzo, when asked by reporters for the sudden change in travel plans.
Unfortunately, that plan went awry just outside of Albuquerque when the flames of the last remaining couch got out of control and ignited the RV. The coaches and players escaped harm, but Sparty, their team mascot, had the simulated horse hair plume on his helmet go up in flames.
Albuquerque residents were warned not to venture outside of the city where the RV and couches were located.....

Source: Illinois determined to land Shaka Smart as next coach
Maybe Herb should have a better "source". Wonder if today's headline will read
Source: Shaka Smart determined not to take Illinois coaching job
|5 years 6 weeks ago||Are the Illini Smart (well no, but....)||
Well there are a couple of things in Smart's favor;
1. He would address the affirmative-action concerns of some trustees and some alumni that Illinois has never had a minority coach in football or men’s basketball.
2. He's a native of WI, growing up outside Madison, so he has Midwestern roots. The AD, Mike Thomas is familiar with Smart, who was an assistant at Akron when Thomas was there.
3. He’s the “hot” coaching name out there right now.
Of course, there are a couple of thing lurking that are not in his favor;
1. The 8 year contract he signed, which you brought up. Since Thomas gave the Zooker $2.6 million to leave, $620,000 to dump the women's basketball coach, and bought out Bruce Weber's deal for $3.9 million last week, there are quite a few folks that aren't too happy with all that $$$ being spent on buying out coaching contracts when the state is broke.
2. There is a big push to hire someone with strong roots to the Chicago Public League, which used to provide a fairly good amount of talent to Champaign. However that has really dried up lately, with the elite kids in Chicago going to the elite programs, or to schools (Memphis) that don't really care if they take classes (or tests to even get in the school). A few of the coaches from high profile Chicago high school programs have thrown their hats into the ring and if shunned, will threaten to shut the Illini out of the talent pool again.
|5 years 7 weeks ago||Not too Smart||
Just another reason to hate on him when he becomes the new Illini coach,....other than the fact he'll be the Illini coach.

In reading the aritilce on TTB, there is mention of Jehu running track and lists his time in the 300m Hurdles at 37.44. I looked up last years large school (class 3A) champion in that event here in Illinois and found that 37.60 won the state meet. So, I thought.....wonder how Jehu did at the Missouri High School State Finals....1st place!
Anyone that knows a little about T&F knows that the 300m Hurdles is a very tough race and usually the guys running those kind of times have an excellent blend of speed, strength and toughness. All very good attributes for a WR at Michigan.
BTW, RGIII ran the 300m Hurdles in High School...pretty darn fast as he was only one-hundredth of a second short of breaking the national high school record. He also ran the 400m Hurdles for a time when he arrived at Baylor, until football took over his time in the spring.

Fondly remember standing by the player entrance/exit onto the court back in 92 with my oldest son and watching him "high five" most of the Fab Five as they walked off the court at Welsh-Ryan arena after a Wolverines victory.

I'm betting that part of their pregame ritual, besides changing out of their orange jumpsuits and taking their leg shackles off is watching the opening kickoff from the Longest Yard.

Boyd Anderson's Demar Dorsey to play for Florida State
Boyd Anderson star defensive back Demar Dorsey chose Michigan over Florida State during National Signing Day on Wednesday in front of a full auditorium at the school in Lauderdale Lakes.
Dorsey, one of the nation's top recruits, teased the crowd by initially grabbing an FSU hat but then set it aside, opting to sport Michigan apparel.
``No more pressure,'' Dorsey said. ``I feel great. That was the hardest decision I had to make. I'm glad everything is finally over. I was getting like 1,000 calls and texts a day.''
Dorsey said family and friends gathered to help him make his decision between Florida State and Michigan.
He felt more comfortable being farther away from home to concentrate more on football.
