The nutty Michigan coverage isn't so much about Harbaugh as it is a signal to the Big Ten that Fox wants to party.

"That guy was on top of Philip, and that's our quarterback," Dunlap told the newspaper. "I protect the quarterback at all costs."
Except for, you know, pass blocking when the ball is snapped.

Is it just me or are the Chargers always crying about something? If the video is the play they are referring to, Frank should be the one who is pissed at Rivers, not the other way around.

I love the bright yellow. Every other team that wears a shade of yellow wears that orangey color and we're the only ones that haven't for the last 3 decades. I hope these uniforms aren't around all season bc they are neither attractive or unique at least based on those photos. The yellow used here doesn't look like it matches the helmet and they look like the LSU aways.

What's funnier is all the wrath Tom is getting in the comments from people who think Flannelly's email was written by Tom Brady and not TO him...sometimes I hate this country.

Sounds alot like the child insult "well why don't you marry it!"....did you even read anything Ronnie posted? Nothing he said was incorrect. The hell is wrong with everyone in here? Upvoting any post regardless of how childish and idiotic it is if it's "anti-RR", downvoting anything mildly supporting anything RR. Please shut this whole stupid thread down. RR didn't say anything. He asked a question about Arizona and how he was welcomed from day 1. That's it.

Yeah it's different because guys usually call each other dicks. Guys also call others the P or C word. I rarely hear women say those things and if they do, they learned it from the men in their lives.

How has he been a pompous ass? The only pompous asses I saw during this entire thing were self righteous fans and former players talking about "integrity" and calling for Brady to get the Pete Rose treatment and his SBs be taken away.

Not even going there. Bottom line Cowhurd was on his way out as it is and I'm sick of people apologizing for and even lauding these radio/TV personalities' ignorant and disrespectful opinions, especially with a lack of on-air dissent.
|5 weeks 6 days ago||Agreed. I just can't stand a||
Agreed. I just can't stand a knee jerk "wow PC-ness is the downfall of the world!" responses when someone's stupid, ill-informed opinion rightfully receives criticism. As if an opinion like this supersedes the value of common decency and respect for others.
|5 weeks 6 days ago||Why should every opinion be||
Why should every opinion be respected because "hey it's just my opinion!"? Why can't people challenge stupid and inane "opinions" without being labeled as PC? He's a dumbass. The problem with this world is not PC people, it's idiots with opinions who think their opinions are as valuable as facts and actual respectful discussion based in real knowledge of a subject. Cowhurd is a perfect representation of anti-intellectualism that runs rampant in this society, not political correctness.

Not all opinions should be valued or respected simply because it's under the guise of an opinion. There is nothing wrong with quieting baseless opinions. In fact, we should do it more often.

When Denard had a good defense he was a BCS Sugar Bowl champ. I dunno what you expect him to do? "Better" Michigan QBs couldn't win BCS bowls or beat OSU with far better supporting casts and good-elite defenses, WRs, and O-lines. Or maybe you forgot our last National Title was in 1997. We've had plenty of good pro QBs since then yet they still couldn't move the needle to make UM elite. How quick we forget our history. Denard was a warrior, elite athlete, and great ambassador for UM and his legacy would've been much different of he had a better team around him. No slight to the many guys who busted their butts in the last 8 years, but they weren't '97 or even '06.

C'mon its July. We don't have this stuff the vast majority of the time.

I've known enough athletes at UM to know they don't view the fans and fellow non athlete classmates as equals. It's fine I'm just saying it's not a new phenomenon. Whatever helps them bond and leads them to success! At the end of the day the fans and players are on the same side and want the same thing : UM victory.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||Also for the record I do not||
Also for the record I do not support booing. There are far more productive ways to state your outrage over coaches and the AD. Although as a player I would rather hear boos than stunning silence. At least I know the people are still there.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||You don't think players||
You don't think players already have that attitude? Cuz they do. Long before there were ever boos in the stands.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||While I see your point, do||
While I see your point, do you think what Brandon was saying and doing to the alumni, students, and loyal fan base was downright ridiculous? Or how about the horrible performance of coaches making more than most fans in the stands make in a lifetime? I'm sorry but these individuals should be held accountable and there aren't many ways someone who cares about our school and football team can express that. You are excited about Harbaugh but ignore one of the key components to us even getting him in the time that we did....we (most likely) had to get rid of both Hoke and Brandon to do that. It was not entirely serendipitous and did require the voices of alumni and fans.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||Very well said. Not a fan of||
Very well said. Not a fan of booing at a game but at the point you just described, I understand it. The players will probably not appreciate any of the fans riots over Hoke and Brandon, but bottom line I think those players who genuinely want to get better and be in the pros will be much happier at how it all turned out. Additionally, if you want to go to a school where the fans are apathetic, Michigan is not the place.

This captures my feelings exactly. Football was my life in undergrad (and it showed in my mediocre grades :/). When we had away games I used to watch from 12pm even if there were only MAC games on to the end of the West coast matches sometimes ending at 1am EST, like when Colt Brennan was at Hawaii. Back then I didn't watch NFL much, but that's still half of the weekend just watching football. Now I get one college game (the UM game) and one pro game (Pats) and would often turn it off if it was a blow out. Even that is 8 hours of the weekend. I liken it to how you become more specialized in your field when you move up in your career. Sure I don't know nearly as much as I used to outside of my own teams, but I'm still crazy about UM football.

Same here. We went from Mike Hart to disaster (mainly from the QBs). Turnovers make me physically sick...like seeing police lights behind you when you drive.

Fox can grab all the "talent" they want but until they are televising what people actually want to see: sports/ large sporting events, they will never out seat ESPN. Right now, ESPN gets coverage for all the most popular live sporting events and it's not even close.
