Hell, why even take Kinesiology when you can graduate with a degree in "General Studies." GS is what Kine was 15 years ago. |

Investopedia is like BleacherReport for finance. Anyone can post. I agree with the list, but it's not something that carries any merit. |

Just to play devil's advocate...if Pryor was "getting paid" why would he be selling his rings? |
| 1 week 5 days ago | Sounds to me like he didn't |
Sounds to me like he didn't even let Urban talk. If a major program was recruiting me and came a long way to see me, I would at least give them 10 minutes of my time... I kind of doubt this story is true though...Urban is not going to fly to see some kid that had absolutely no interest in the program. |

I would probably be a little shocked too...people usually aren't rude like that. |
| 2 weeks 14 hours ago | Penn State takes the cake for |
Penn State takes the cake for "blindly loyal." They were flipping over news vans after a pedaphile enabler was fired. I didn't hear any OSU fans sticking up for Gee...Hell, the President of the Catholic league said it was "just a joke." |
| 2 weeks 14 hours ago | I don't think the OP read the article.... |
"Why would a university with so much to give academically; with a revered role as the unquestioned leader of the megaconference Big Ten; with an alumni base and fans more passionate than any, get caught up in nonsensical fights they’re guaranteed to lose" |

OSU could have kept Gee if they wanted. There was really no outcry for his firing...and most everyone he offened accepted his aplogy. |
| 2 weeks 16 hours ago | Gordon |
Gee was 70 years old. Probably didn't want to deal with being muzzled by the Board and having the media hang on his every word. |
| 2 weeks 21 hours ago | IIRC |
Wasn't it Michigan players who ran off to the Freep crying foul? And it was more than just a "few hours of stretching." You sound like a bucknut defending Tressel. I think a GA got hit with a 10.1 violation (lying to the NCAA) and the program got hit with a FTM, which was later reversed, but you don't get hit with that unless something is systemically wrong. The staff screwed up big time. |

Life is too short to drive a boring car. Buy a Corvette. |
| 2 weeks 2 days ago | I saw someone did an average |
I saw someone did an average comparison between recruiting rankings and AP finish for the last 10 years and the results were pretty surprising. OSU had the recruiting rank of #10 and the AP rank of #1. Schools like Miami and FSU and Clemson had high recruiting rankings, but poor AP finishes. |
| 2 weeks 3 days ago | OP sounds like a big time |
OP sounds like a big time Cincy shill. Cincy doesn't offer the B10 anything. No new TV market and average (at best) in basketball and football. And trying to compare UC to OSU academically is like trying to compare MSU to UM...there is no comparison. UC isn't even in the top 125 in the country. It's pretty much a commuter college. If the ACC didn't want them why should the B10? |
| 2 weeks 4 days ago | Most of the country sees OSU |
Most of the country sees OSU as a bunch of arrogant assholes anyway. And then their President just throws fuel on the fire. Most of what is said is probably true...and everyone knows it. Which is excatly why you don't need to say it. |

Wisconsin seems to always give them a game...but it's in Columbus, at night, where Wisconsin hasn't won in like 30 years. Penn State is not going to be any good this year. Bank it. |

I think they return like 9 of 11. |

I don't see 2 losses for them unless Braxton or Hyde gets hurt. Only 2 games they have to show up for are @ NW and @ Mich. |
| 5 weeks 6 days ago | OSU hype machine is running |
OSU hype machine is running in 5th gear. SI has them on the main page today too. That said, Urban's 2nd year at all of his previous programs were very good. Their offense will be impossible to stop this year as they return literally everyone. Defense could be a different story, but the talent is there. |

On second look, there's a bunch of Super Bowl rings on ebay for like $1-2k. Those things have really come down in price. |
| 8 weeks 2 days ago | That's a laughable price. |
That's a laughable price. I've seen Super Bowl rings go for like $10k. |

Sorry, but the kids on the 2012 Ohio team had nothing to do with the violations. That's why I don't have a problem with it. |

I don't have a problem with this. 12-0 is 12-0. We'd have done the same thing.

| 9 weeks 20 hours ago | People at the stadium are |
People at the stadium are plenty loud (minus the well heeled near the 50, but you'll find that at any major University, excluding the SEC). I tend to think it has more to do with the Bowl design where some of the seats are a long distance horizontally from the field. Stadiums like Ohio or PSU that go "up" rather than "out" are more conducive to creating and holding sound. The renovations have definately made it louder though.

Why would a kid from Maryland be an Ohio lock? Nothing on their board about him either. Was he a "lock" according to some random poster or an actual recruiting analyst? |

I can't believe there was a 3 page thread on this earlier and 90% of the people thought it was a true story. It was obviously a joke when he delivered the punch line. |

Urban has a master's degree in something from OSU. He did his undergrad at UC. |
| 18 weeks 1 day ago | I think I remember reading |
I think I remember reading that OSU gave Meyer an out in his contract if previous violations resurfaced. Obviously, OSU is not going to do that unless they feel confident there is not another shoe to drop. Add to that the fact the NCAA and every major sports outlet went through their program with a fine tooth comb and couldn't find anything other than some tats and pocket change from charity events. |
| 18 weeks 1 day ago | Doubtful. Texas and USC are |
Doubtful. Texas and USC are lateral moves from OSU and LSU is a step down. Maybe he goes to the NFL, but I would think if he had interest in that he could have written his ticket after he won his 2nd NC. Fact is, he's from Ohio and is an OSU grad. Chances of him leaving in the next 5 years are pretty slim. Outside of Michigan, nobody is even close to OSU in talent which means he'll win at least 10 games every year. |
