Wisconsin seems to always give them a game...but it's in Columbus, at night, where Wisconsin hasn't won in like 30 years. Penn State is not going to be any good this year. Bank it. |

I think they return like 9 of 11. |

I don't see 2 losses for them unless Braxton or Hyde gets hurt. Only 2 games they have to show up for are @ NW and @ Mich. |
| 2 weeks 3 days ago | OSU hype machine is running |
OSU hype machine is running in 5th gear. SI has them on the main page today too. That said, Urban's 2nd year at all of his previous programs were very good. Their offense will be impossible to stop this year as they return literally everyone. Defense could be a different story, but the talent is there. |

On second look, there's a bunch of Super Bowl rings on ebay for like $1-2k. Those things have really come down in price. |

That's a laughable price. I've seen Super Bowl rings go for like $10k. |

Sorry, but the kids on the 2012 Ohio team had nothing to do with the violations. That's why I don't have a problem with it. |

I don't have a problem with this. 12-0 is 12-0. We'd have done the same thing.

People at the stadium are plenty loud (minus the well heeled near the 50, but you'll find that at any major University, excluding the SEC). I tend to think it has more to do with the Bowl design where some of the seats are a long distance horizontally from the field. Stadiums like Ohio or PSU that go "up" rather than "out" are more conducive to creating and holding sound. The renovations have definately made it louder though.

Why would a kid from Maryland be an Ohio lock? Nothing on their board about him either. Was he a "lock" according to some random poster or an actual recruiting analyst? |

I can't believe there was a 3 page thread on this earlier and 90% of the people thought it was a true story. It was obviously a joke when he delivered the punch line. |

Urban has a master's degree in something from OSU. He did his undergrad at UC. |
| 14 weeks 4 days ago | I think I remember reading |
I think I remember reading that OSU gave Meyer an out in his contract if previous violations resurfaced. Obviously, OSU is not going to do that unless they feel confident there is not another shoe to drop. Add to that the fact the NCAA and every major sports outlet went through their program with a fine tooth comb and couldn't find anything other than some tats and pocket change from charity events. |

Doubtful. Texas and USC are lateral moves from OSU and LSU is a step down. Maybe he goes to the NFL, but I would think if he had interest in that he could have written his ticket after he won his 2nd NC. Fact is, he's from Ohio and is an OSU grad. Chances of him leaving in the next 5 years are pretty slim. Outside of Michigan, nobody is even close to OSU in talent which means he'll win at least 10 games every year. |
| 17 weeks 2 days ago | OSU probably figured out it |
OSU probably figured out it makes more sense for them to bank the money instead of some scalper. Realistically, it shouldn't change the secondary market pricing too much. Just means people who want to sell tickets above face value will be getting killed on margins. OSU is probably only one of a handful of schools who could get away with this because they seem to be good about every year. If a team runs into a dry patch though, this will come back to bite them in the arse. |

The transitive property does not work for college basketball. It's all about what have you done recently. We moved up after beating a ranked Minn. Kansas wil move up after beating a ranked K-State. Simple as that. |
| 17 weeks 2 days ago | Debbie Downer |
Kansas just beat a #11 team on the road. We play 2 non-ranked teams. They will get the nod for #1, not us. |

| 23 weeks 1 day ago | These "profit" lists are |
These "profit" lists are useless because there's no standard across Universities on how they report athletic revenue. For example, Ohio State doesn't report their apparel/merchandise revenue. Other schools break up athletic revenue into specific sports, some lump all sports in together. Some schools report conference sharing revenue, others do not.

| 23 weeks 2 days ago | To be totally unbiased, I'd |
To be totally unbiased, I'd say the top 3 jobs in college (in no particular order) are Texas, USC and Ohio. I'd put michigan on a short list, but our instate talent is somewhat lacking to be considered one of the best. Who the hell would want to live in Alabama or Louisiana? And up until about 5 years ago, Bama sucked for an entire decade. LSU was pretty much irrevelant before 2000. Just more ESPiN shining the SEC's knob. |

That's rich coming from an "SEC" fan....whatever that means. |
| 25 weeks 1 day ago | I never liked Tressel, but I |
I never liked Tressel, but I personally think the whole thing was overblown by the media. Let's be real, it wasn't like he was paying players out of his own pocket to come to OSU. They sold some stuff that belonged to them (wasn't even an NCAA rule until like 2005) and a lawyer (who happened to be friends with Tressel) tipped him off that players were hanging out with a shady tattoo parlor owner who was drug running. If I'm Tressel, I'm probably thinking to myself, "holy shit, my players are going to get caught up in a federal drug trafficking investigation." I seriously doubt his first thought was about NCAA violations. He was definitely a "players" coach and tried to be a father type figure. If it was Nick Saban, Ann Frank wouldn't have gotten past the words "Dear Diary." The media tried to play it out like Tressel was told explicitly of NCAA violations and then plotted to keep it secret. That's not really what happened at all. The e-mails (and I actually read them) focused more on the Tat parlor owner and what a scumbag he was (murder investigations, drugs, etc) and then threw in the fact the guy had OSU memorabilia in his store and players were often seen hanging out there. Tressel tried to handle it himself instead of involving who he should have, but the lawyer also told him to keep the info confidential...which I'm sure conflicted Tressel somewhat because the lawyer could get in trouble (which he did anyway). Did Tressel screw up? Yep. Can I honestly say I would have done it different than him? Probably not. His first instinct was to protect his players and that was his downfall. Totally against NCAA rules, but I don't see him as some kind of "evil" person like many do.

The reason I hate ND is because they somehow think their athletes are academically superior to other schools when in reality they go head to head with us and OSU for all the same recruits. I'd put Penn State in that same boat too. |

Would OSU even be in the national championship anyway? They're still behind Bama and Georgia in the polls and 1 of those teams is going to pick up a ton of points for beating a top 3 team. |

As long as we're not ruining their undefeated season (like in the 90's) their fans are actually pretty tolerable. |
