I live about 5000 miles away from Michigan, so it wasn't a pleasant surprise to see them on the television here. I think the basketball team is getting better, and the coach does appear to be doing a lot of the right things. It is one of the most exciting seasons since the Fab 5. Hopefully, they'll broadcast a couple more games out here in the middle of the Pacific before the end of the season. Thanks for the nice post.
1. Robert Rodriguez - He's only 42 and could devise some great schemes. I'm already thinking about defensive backs equiped with sawed off shot guns and linebackers with machetes. Quentin Tarantino would make a good offensive coordinator. Throwing the bomb gets a new meaning.
2. Bill Belichick - Shoot for the moon.
3. Tony Dungy - As mentioned in many posts. Again I'm shooting for the moon.
4. Jim Harbaugh
5. Les Miles - Not well liked here, but seems to be able to win.
6. Brian from MGoBlog. The guy knows and loves Michigan football and would probably be a better choice than a lot of the names floating around out there. I'm more than half serious about this.

Your point is precisely the most disturbing aspect of the whole thing. This decision sets a very bad precedent regardless of your opionion of Auburn, MSU, Cam Newton etc.
I wasn't really thinking of the particular standings and all the different conferences and bowl tie-ins. I would really like to have Michigan visit Aloha stadium at some point though.
I had to wake up at 6AM to watch this game, but it was worth a couple of hours worth of lost sleep. I'll have to give it a couple of days to figure out where to place this game, but I imagine that it will rank quite high.
I don't think the Big 10 has a tie-in to the Hawaii Bowl, but one can always dream. Michigan vs. Hawaii would be an absolute shootout since Hawaii considers defense to be an optional part of the game too.
Plus, it's the only bowl that's close to home for me.

I agree. If he fixes things up a bit and gets a win or two at the end, I would consider things on the upswing. If the team loses out, then the final results show no improvement over last year. That's the reason I said they should evaluate at the end of the season.
I just kind of lurk around here and have no idea how the points work, but that's the worst that I've ever seen. I would guess it's the minimum integer for whatever programming language they're using.
