I love a good Friday…

I love a good Friday afternoon rant. Good shit OP.

Now I would like to hear what CommunistFootball has to say about this.

God dammit, we may not agree…

God dammit, we may not agree with each other, but you get me Pete.

Not necessarily.

Not necessarily.

It sounds like you don't…

It sounds like you don't want to understand the real issue here. Are you familiar with the trolley problem?

I admit that I'm drunk as I…

I admit that I'm drunk as I read this article, but it really seams like an own goal from Ono. He looks pretty foolish here.

Let's put it this way: he…

Let's put it this way: he spelled "Yale" with a 6.

Oh boy, I did a bad job…

Oh boy, I did a bad job making myself easily understood in that comment, didn't I?

It was not an uncommon…

It was not an uncommon sentiment in my high school or among the adults in my life at the time. This was in Macomb County, so I imagine if you're familiar, it will be a lot easier for you to believe.

Yeah, I know. That's why I…

Yeah, I know. That's why I said that it isn't hard to figure out "when that's the case." For example, let's say a cargo ship hit a bridge and it collapsed. If a bunch of people said it was because the mayor of the city the bridge was in is a DEI hire, you would know that they aren't actually talking about the concept of DEI, wouldn't you?

When I was going to Michigan…

When I was going to Michigan in the late 2000's, people were still complaining about how many black people, Jewish people, and women were attending the school. I know many people feel the same way today, but it does seem less intense and some statistical measures bear that out. People will use initialisms like "DEI" and "CRT" instead of the one you know they want to use, but it's really easy to figure out when that's the case.

I always wonder what goes…

I always wonder what goes through the mind of the contrarian when discussing a dead guy's pretty significant wrongdoings. Is it a mindless compulsion to avoid speaking ill of the dead? Is Don Canham DennisFranklin's grandfather? Is the bare-minimum moral standard just too much accountability to be expected for those in powerful leadership positions? Given the sarcastic "good thing the rest of us are perfect," my money is on the last one.

My wife and I have an…

My wife and I have an understanding that book purchases lie outside of our budget considerations. It has generally been a positive for enriching our lives, but a negative for space around the home.

I was hosting a trivia night…

I was hosting a trivia night in Canton this week and one of the questions was "what lake lies on the border between Peru and Bolivia?" Every team who knew it brought their answer up with a big goofy grin, as is expected.

I know we like to mock and…

I know we like to mock and poke fun around here, but this one feels a little mean-spirited.

Oh thank god, this was…

Oh thank god, this was bugging me for a while. I couldn't remember Woody Allen's last name for the last few days and I would forget about it before I had a chance to look it up. Sure enough, I would be driving or without my phone each time it popped back into my head.

Man, I almost forgot about…

Man, I almost forgot about this ridiculous statement. This would be like the pope saying the biggest scandal in the history of the Catholic Church was that time when that priest was phrasing his incantations wrong when giving communion.

But apparently he does what…

But apparently he does what he thinks is best for the school and athletes, which is a totally meaningful response to the criticism he's received.

That wasn't the question,…

That wasn't the question, professor.

I was hosting trivia night…

I was hosting trivia night at a bar yesterday and everyone was going absolutely nuts over the Oakland win.

Honey, I swear this never…

Honey, I swear this never happens. It must be because of Jalen Milroe's cadence...

We're eating good with rival…

We're eating good with rival coaches saying things they probably should have just kept to themselves today.

It's no surprise why Izzo…

It's no surprise why Izzo feels this way: his teams haven't always gotten the bids they've gotten based on merit.

Do you seriously think that…

Do you seriously think that this headline rises to level of clickbait? Attention-grabbing and somewhat provocative, sure, but there's a reason why the quintessential examples of clickbait are things like "a common soft drink has been found to be lethal. Navigate through 12 pages of ads to find out that it isn't."

I feel like acknowledging…

I feel like acknowledging the failure of his tenure as a head coach falls pretty low on the "shameful" and "disrespectful" scales. Maybe they could have workshopped "Fab Failure" a little more because it sounds like they settled on the first headline that made it on the board.

None of what you mentioned…

None of what you mentioned is the actual coaching part of the job (unless you're feeling generous and count the "energy and desire" to coach). Sure, he may tick some of the culture and feelingsball boxes, but just because that's important doesn't mean it should be ultimately qualifying for the job. I guess he wouldn't have to walk very far to get to Michigan.

Your profile picture never…

Your profile picture never fails to get a sensible chuckle out of me.

I'm a big softie and I…

I'm a big softie and I generally don't celebrate people losing their jobs unless they get canned for doing something truly terrible. I feel bad for him even if he's still stupid rich, but this was emphatically the right decision. Hopefully he lands on his feet somewhere and that he stops being such a hothead.

I have put it off long…

I have put it off long enough: this is the weekend where I trim all the damn trees on my property.

Buckeyes have created forms…

Buckeyes have created forms of cope I wouldn't have dreamed possible just six months ago.

Hoke was somehow brought…

Hoke was somehow brought back after 2013

This made me doubt myself enough to look it up, but Hoke was fired after the 2014 season.

Tissues for many others that…

Tissues for many others that are sure to post here

My first impulse was not to jack off to a rocket launch, but it does have a big phallic object going up...

"Cumbus" sounds like one of…

"Cumbus" sounds like one of the seemingly endless iterations of porn sites with some nasty gimmick from like 15-20 years ago.

They could be STEM degrees.

They could be STEM degrees.

The green over gray Eastern…

The green over gray Eastern ones look really good.

I think it must be a law of…

I think it must be a law of the universe that no matter the sample, methodology, or conclusion, there will always be people who will criticize any statistical analysis because they feel the sample size is too small.

Thank you for defining APB…

Thank you for defining APB for the class.

Ohhhhhhh, that makes sense…

Ohhhhhhh, that makes sense. Yeah, I'm on your side.

do you also think an AM…

do you also think an AM Christian radio station is run by bigots?

I'm not the person you were replying to, but what point are you trying to make? Because with what I know about Christian media (and especially Christian AM radio), my answer is "probably."

I understand that you…

I understand that you believe your morals originate from God and that makes sense in Christianity, but you don't see how that could work in a universe without a god? You should check out some ethical philosophy concepts. There's a lot of discussion of the types of ethical systems and even potential natural origins or ethics.

I'm not saying you have to believe it, but understanding where others come from might be beneficial for you.

I think some things are…

I think some things are definitely worse than others. For example, covering for a child molester is worse than stealing a loaf of bread for your sister's starving child.

Obviously conradb42 meant…

Obviously conradb42 meant specifically in the comments of this post. I'm disappointed in your super powers of deduction today, Quailman.

I suspect mGrowOld wouldn't…

I suspect mGrowOld wouldn't like banana peppers because he said fruit should be illegal on pizza and rated the other fruits on his list negatively.

I did a quick search and…

I did a quick search and found some website called classicsportsrevisited.com that has the full season on DVD, though it seems like kind of an amateur operation (but that might be your best bet). The B1G store online has a Blu Ray from as late as 2021, but it looks like just a single game.

Two bags of almonds and one…

Two bags of almonds and one of those tiny liquor bottles from the minibar.

Follow your blocks!

Follow your blocks!

You have quite the way with…

You have quite the way with words.

It's probably a Michigan…

It's probably a Michigan thing because they've always been a pain in the ass as a fan base even before the Rich Rod years. I do understand how you don't get it because people outside of Michigan and the Midwest probably don't even know they have a football program.

My first game as a student…

My first game as a student was in August 2007. This was a long time coming!

I'm heading to Vegas for…

I'm heading to Vegas for work that afternoon and I believe I'll have to watch during my layover in Seattle and on the plane. So if anyone is in the Seattle airport Monday evening, let me know.

This sanctimonious bullshit…

This sanctimonious bullshit is laughable and it's childish. Calling every potential rule violation no matter how inconsequential "cheating" is the kind of whiny nonsense I would expect to see on an all-caps rant from a blue-check with three followers on Twitter. I gotta say that I'm loving seeing these clowns froth at the mouth and spill their dumbass takes filtered through the lens of ignorance and envy.
