if in the pressbox as media: do not wear anything proclaiming an allegiance to the competing teams or any other college team apparel (pro apparel might be okay, but still not seen as professional - i would never do it.) working often in the yankee stadium pressbox, i seldom - if ever - saw yankee beat writers wearing yankee gear. if you are wearing a jersey or any michigan apparel, and are there to work, most of the other writers are likely going to think either.
a) you're some writer's cousin who he brought up to the pressbox to silently observe (see below) or
b) you work for michigan SID or michigan stadium event crew.
cheering or clapping of any sort is also looked down upon and is seen as uncouth - you and everyone else in there are there to do a job, emotions should be checked at the door (or channeled into your writing) i worked in broadcast media for major league baseball for four seasons, and mlb/ teams have a policy not to permit rightsholders/press from wearing team apparel and were pretty serious about it. i never worked in college football/sports but i can't imagine its any different.
believe it or not most members of the press, even if they came into their job as passionate fans (as i was with baseball), are jaded assholes who cant wait to write their story and go home, and certainly won't appreciate such unprofessional appearance in the pressbox. they have likely been at the stadium from 6am if not earlier, and by gametime after so many cups of coffee and shitty stadium cafeteria food, you are ready to get the fuck out of the stadium. but make no mistake, behind those judgmental frowns being cast your way, a jealous envy of your vibrant passion festers.
if you're a fan just 'observing' from the pressbox, you'll probably look like a doofus and very much out of place in a jersey but its not per se forbidden in the absence of a specific regulation. a michigan polo or the like would be much much better, but you still may be confused for some michigan athletics staff/runner.

im in santiago for the summer and have made it to three matches; Chile really seemed to gel during that game against Bolivia, and if they make it past Uruguay they should be in the final. Brazil looked more fluid yesterday than they did against Colombia, and without Neymar no less (it was awesome to see him dominated by Sanchez and then suspended in the game against Colombia). My money is on a Argentina-Chile final.

saw someone on campus yesterday wearing a very official looking under-armour michigan boxing track jacket. not sure if those are one-offs for the boxing team kinda like the reebok stuff for hockey, but it gives me hope. looked pretty slick.

you should! i had a pretty good understanding of photoshop before i started this but had never used any of the other creative suite products. just watched a few ~10 minute vidoes about motion tracking and layering in after effects and i was able to sort it out. its not too difficult, just really really tedious.

in the latest searchbits, brian says that mysterious internet person 'GFunk' has gone to 100%. the guys on the victors board and board 5 always refer to mgoblog as GFunk's website, or @mgoblog's tweets as 'GFunk's tweet'. Brian is GFunk. GFunk is Brian. So brian has just tacitly given us an indication that he believes with 100% certainty that the deal is done. Laces out.

|50 weeks 6 days ago||i just went through his||
i just went through his entire post history on reddit, spanning five years.
aside from being incredibly misogynist and inflammatory, nothing about his posts indicate that he has any special connection to the Michigan AD. Never makes a mention of his brother at Michigan in any of the hundreds of posts on r/cfb. the guy lives in tempe arizona (may or may not have graduated from ASU), married, works for a backend financial services outsourcing company, is 31 years old, and never gave any indication that he (or his supposed brother) have an in at the Michigan AD. his only inside connection to football seems to be a cousin who played football for Northern Arizona University in the late 80s and 90s, but he is only mentioned once and not having anything to do with inside information.
in fact, judging from many of his past posts, he has a real disdain for michigan - talks a lot of shit about michign during debate about the rematch running up to the bama-lsu national title game, and his dislike of michigan pours through elsewhere.
for such a prolific poster on r/cfb its a bit strange that he doesn't know the name of stephen ross, which has come up numerous times on that board this year (and previously).
i would take this post with a HUGE grain of salt. his prediciton may be right, but i really doubt he has any inside information.

|1 year 2 days ago||as much as i despised||
as much as i despised brandon, the student athletes sincerely loved him (so it seems); clearly brandon wasn't doing everything wrong - he took care of his primary charges (athletes) - but he failed to understand that the athletic department/athletes is/are just one parcel of the michigan community.
if brandon can gain the trust the athletes, i am hopeful that at the very least hackett can gain their trust as well. and from everything ive heard and read about him thus far from his time at Steelcase and his time on the football team, i believe that he will bring to the table that awareness and sensitivity to the concerns of the larger michigan community that brandon lacked.
that being said, im willing to give hackett a chance, despite his lack of an AD background.

I think hoke will announce his resignation shortly after the MD game, effective after OSU. avoids the ugliness of a firing and gets his team motivated for OSU.
