Does anyone have any inside info on the game time for the Minnesota game? We are heading up there and have no idea when kickoff might be.  The ticket office says the networks only need to provide them a 72 hour heads up on the kickoff time....

thanks

Yep It sounds like almost any other situation where voluntary work is actually mandatory. Do you only work 9-5? Did you ever take extra batting practice in high school? Does Farve hold out on training camp even though he is 50? Well forget the last one. I just don't like the tone in the article the leads me to believe these kids were not being treated as the superstars their mom and dad told them they were so they whined about it. Then their mamas and papas told them " shhh little superstar...mommy and daddy will make it all better. Now where is that journalist's phone number?" Do you think Bo's players were not encouraged to work beyond the minimum requirements? Ask some of his former O line men about what they had to do to run 6 min mile or risk not being allowed to play. Do you think Tressel's players only participate in football related activities for 2 hours a day? Do you think Tim Tebow spends more time healing the blind than practicing snaps under center so he will get drafted after this year? Nope.
thanks Thanks for the contribution.
Both sports Both sports do not have to move into the conference do they? I know Temple Football moved to the MAC but their b-ball team is in another conference. What are the details of moving conferences, meaning who pays who?
Iowa I'll being going to the Iowa game. It is a night game and we are meeting up with some UofM grads/fans from Kansas City. We made the trip to Purdue last year...we set up our tailgate in an area filled with Michigan fans and had a great time. Iowa is a long ride but you can never see enough corn I always say...
I read that ...too. How ridiculous, can they really enforce this? It seems like they are crossing a boundry here, what's next... making Superbowl Sunday a national holiday?
uhhh eh
Mmmm... hmmmmm Mmmm... hmmmmm... so then.... wait... what are you saying? Who is going to throw the eggs at who when they drive by in a limo with a sunroof on prom night?
Ahh Ha! Very well put. I love the reverse engineering of the frustration in the comments on the Drew Dileo Post. I think this is a very fair assesment of the recruiting practices at present state. If they will follow Wolverine32's advise and outwork the other guy while targeting a higher caliber player it will make for a very strong and exciting program!!!!!
"but his seems like the kind of signing that a MAC school would" "but his seems like the kind of signing that a MAC school would be thrilled with." Seeing as they play 2 or 3 Mac schools a year... maybe they are dipping into that recruiting pool for a reason...can you imagine how excited teams in the Colonial Conference would be with this commit?! he he
spreading it I am no guru when it comes to Xs and Os, but with the spread Michigan is going to need some depth at the receiving corp correct? Won't they be rotating role players in and out while developing a main target that will become the guy who grabs the most attetnion from the defense leaving guys like Dileo available to make an unexpected play every so soften, all the while his main role is going to be to block?
the return game The 2nd biggest issue with the return game, after not holding on to the ball was that the returners were getting their bell rung and didn't see the field again for an average of two games after attempting a return... It is hard to develop a dependable return man if he is playing with a Nerf helmet....
Even ... ...Cincinnati would be good though they have a 2010 match up at Oklahoma.
either way ...It is still a good matchup. It is a match up of potential coaching legacies in their infancy. Tenn is trying to regain respectability among the SEC powerhouses and the shadow of Payton's time there. They would have a lot to gain by coming up here. The Big Ten / SEC Rivalry is already shaping up. Unfortunately The Big Ten has assumed the role of little brother in it. Nonetheless, take on an SEC foe on a regular basis and give the blue hairs something to cheer about, for real, on their first day behind the glass in a luxury suite.
I likes... I like the Vols match up. Two coaches in "newer" roles who should both have "their" programs in place by next year. UofM and Tenn. played in 2001 ...i don't rmemeber the outcome though. Point being it seems like a good game and I am sure Kiffin would love the publicity ... He takes anything he can get I mean have you seen the websites regarding his wife... The Vols B-ball coach said in an interview that he is trying to date her!! I think Tennesse would take that game and maybe not even request a home and home.
Interesting... It does lead to an interesting dilemma trying to schedule non conference teams that may, or may not be good by the time the season rolls around. As was discussed with the scheduling of the U of M opener for the 2010 season that is aligning with the unveiling of the stadium renovations, you want to schedule a win, but not a cupcake, but not a loss, but not a disaster upset. The other issue is the logistics of scheduling. MSU is scheduling 7 years out. Imagine if you scheduled Missouri 7 years ago nobody would think that was a great game in the making, but if 7 years ago was 2000 or 2001 and you played the Mizzou team of the last two years it would have totally impacted your strength of schedule and possibly your record. It is a coin toss when you schedule a team that generally lands in the middle of the conference standings, and the Buckeyes were definitely fueled with arrogance when the scheduled a USC home and home. Though I have to give them credit for committing to that match up.
What about a risk..... Should the Wolverines dare to reach out to an SEC team like Mississippi State or Auburn? Would that be worth the risk? Would those teams have first weekend openings for 2010?
Not a lot of options There isn't going to be a lot of options. Scheduling a team 15 months out is not going to bring in any big time BCS teams. Which is too bad because it would be nice to bring in a good team that would not only make the "christening" mean something but also add to the strength of schedule. In lue of a good BCS team what about an Academy team or a team from Conference USA like Marshall or East Carolina?
