| 6 weeks 6 days ago | McGary's Missed Frees |
The reason Mitch McGary missed the two frees at the end AND the additional lane violation freethrow is HE CANNOT SEE OUT OF HIS EYES BECAUSE HE WAS PLAYING WITH TWO BROKEN CHEEKBONES AND A BROKEN NOSE. Dude looked like Rocky Balboa in the postgame interview. |

Prayers sent up. Horrific injury. |
| 29 weeks 6 days ago | I'd second that... |
He needs to get off the ground and bring the ball down in the endzone and not just stand there and look for a yellow flag. Go up and get the F-ing ball!!! How bad do you really want it?? |

My buddy has found a dozen or so deer here in St. Joe Co and he said that none of them that he has found have been touched by coyotes, vultures, crows etc... nothing is touching the carcasses. That's spooky to me that predators who are always out for a free meal aren't having anything to do with these dead animals. The DNR says there is no worry for transmission to humans, but I'm waiting until 72 hours after the first hard frost before doing any hunting this year. Of the dozen dead deer found so far, 5 have been bucks - largest was a 140 class 8 point. Sad. Wait until the corn and beans get picked and more guys get into the woods - the numbers of dead EHD deer are going to go through the roof. Safe hunting fellas! |
| 34 weeks 6 days ago | Russell Bellomy??? |
I'm hearing people wanting to bypass Gardner and Bellomy -- and start Shane Morris, who is still in High School and home in bed with mono. Freekin idiots. Onward Denard! I'm still with ya'! |
| 36 weeks 9 hours ago | Not sure who is at fault in this pissing match |
but I voiced my thoughts with Dish, since I'm paying them for my service every month. I can cancel my 2 year contract with Dish for less than it will cost me to go to Applebees or BWW to follow Michigan football or basketball games this year. @!#$%^ |

| 41 weeks 3 days ago | Harris VS MSU |
On the chart above, shouldn't Harris have a +6 vs MSU instead of the 0 he was given? That would put him at +35 for those games instead of +29, for a 3.88 average. ("Nothing scientific" noted in the following paragraph, but still was curious). Love Demens and looking for great things from him. |

Gotta remember that he has no Class A championship caliber team around him, so there won't be a blazing highlight reel the first three games of the season. Sturgis is class B. With his O LIne, he will be playing more from the shotgun as well to give him more time. Sturgis has MAYBE 26-28 kids on the Varsity squad this season - and no JV team, so half of those kids will be incoming sophomores playing at the Varsity level for the first time.Yeoowww. Michigan has been aware of him forever and he has spent time there with the coaches. I have absolutely no doubt that he wanted and would have jumped at a Michigan offer, but it looks like he knew he probably wasn't going to get one if it hadn't happened yet. How can you blame a kid in his situation for jumping at the opportunity to play QB anywhere in the Big 10, let alone Wisconsin where he'll finally get a line big enough to give him his 3 seconds in the pocket to set up and throw the ball. Good luck to him except when he plays us.

| 48 weeks 5 days ago | Sturgis |
Gotta consider what kind of team he has around him. Not much. Always running for his life and scrambling is not his forte. He has the qb smarts and size. If he played for any of the state championship caliber teams in Michigan his film would be better, his statistics would be better and his skills would be even more polished than they are. How many class B qb's get Big Ten offers as an incoming junior? I honestly don't know that answer, but just throwing it out for consideration. |

| 1 year 17 weeks ago | I live in Sturgis and know Chance |
He's the read deal at QB, playing for a smaller - non-powerhouse - class B school. Once he graduates, we'll go back to fielding mediocre teams like we always have. You knew watching him in 6th grade rocket football that the kid would play "big time" college ball. He had IT, even back then. Great arm, whole field vision, QB smarts and confidence. He knows he's good, but you want that cockiness in a QB. Though they look similar, he's not as arrogant as Mallet. Loves Michigan, but has to make a decision between wearing the Winged Helmet and waiting your turn, or picking another D1 school and getting extra YEARS of playing time. Kid is a competitor and won't back down from Morris, so no worries there - but he has to know he won't start at Michigan as a freshman, and he's never NOT started at ANYTHING he has ever played (including Varsity basketball and baseball as a Freshman). Starting Varsity QB as a freshman and almost got a bad team into the playoffs that year. Last year he got them in, but not far. Can't say that outcome will change much over the next two years with the kids that are coming up with him. If he were at a powerhouse football school with a good back and at least one receiver over 6' with good hands and wheels, he would be putting up SICK numbers. Happy to see him getting the recognition he deserves. He will be a big time QB in college, and will play on Sundays if he can stay healthy. Happy to offer highlights from the bleachers over the next two years.

| 1 year 26 weeks ago | Sec. 36 & 11 |
I was in N endzone and the ones behind us were nice (though understandably disappointed). Same goes for the ones who worked in their Athletic Dept. and sat near my cousins in S endzone. Cheered for their team when they did well, but not obnoxiously. I'd second the "class" remarks. |
| 1 year 27 weeks ago | Same Here - Odoms |
I said the exact same thing to my wife when he scored -- the TD couldn't happen to a better kid. Worked his butt off before his injury to see the field and make great contributions, only to get seriously hurt, miss games and drop on the depth chart. Persistance had some memorable payoff for him this weekend. Congratz Tay! |

Wasn't Denard in the process of going down when he put his arm out, and thus put the ball on the ground? The ball did NOT drop out of his hand, which would surely be a fumble. I thought he used the ball/his arm to gain leverage to stay up and break away from the tackler. I thought they would call him down at the spot the ball touched the ground. I haven't read the rules, myself. |

Did you even watch the video in Section 1's post above? Watch it and then make a comment. |
| 1 year 31 weeks ago | Watch the initial karate chop to Denard's neck |
I posted this later in this thread, but wated to respond to Section 1, as he has the actual video linked in his post. DON'T look past the initial, blatant "strike" on Denard by Rush! He open handed karate chopped Denard's neck with BOTH hands as he was coming down upon Denard. After the CHOPS, he then grabbed Denard as an afterthought and threw him down. I believe he was trying to break Denard's collarbones with the initial strike(s) to the neck, and then wrapped him up and tossed him aside to cover up the CHOPS! Furious if this goes unpunished by the Big10. |
| 1 year 31 weeks ago | Rush's Hit on Denard |
If you take a closer look at the initial hit Rush put on Denard, he karate chopped Denard's neck with both hands. Watch the open area between Denards shoulder pads and the base of his helmet - the MF'er was trying to break Denard's collarbones. Seriously, take another look at the initial "strike" - it's two open handed karate chops to the exposed base of his neck - and THEN he wraps him up and throws him down. It's not the take down that injured Denard - IT WAS THE CHOPS TO THE NECK!!!

WE CAN ALL READ THE #$%^& BOOK FOR OURSELVES????!!!!!! Then WE can all be on the same page, and can see for OURSELVES what the book has to say - and then WE can all discuss what WE have read. In the meantime, someone ought to create a separate blog so people can argue the minute details of each page of this book elsewhere. I'm all for healthy discussion, but I would hate to see MGo become overtaken with even more in-fighting - especially during our potential run for the Big 10 Championship this fall. End of rant.... |

he did it to solidify his current team and for future recruiting purposes. Everyone had him on the top list for OSU consideration. I don't think he wanted to take on the restructuring that OSU has coming - especially not with his health the way it is either. He probably thought, If I can make it another 5 years lets keep building the program at MSU -- and if I can eek out a couple more wins over Michigan in that time, all the better for my legacy. |

vs just read his stat sheet. He'll get enough big plays to fill a highlight reel again this year - just not sure how many voters pay close enough attention to the games themselves. I'd rather him win it his Senior year after he gets his throwing game put together a little better. |
| 1 year 34 weeks ago | The lower you sit to the field.... |
the louder it is. I won tix to the ND game 2 years ago and sat in section 25 row 2 - home sideline around the 24 yard line. The entire student section and band is just over your left shoulder. That was the closest to field level I'd ever sat in over 30 years of attending games. It was deafening down there. It went from extremely loud throughout the entire game, to hypersonic pitch ringing after the winning touchdown - it was beyond noise at that point. I sat near the top of the bowl in the north endzone in section 36 row 87 for this years UTL game with ND and it was extremely loud up there, but not to the point of "hypersonic ringing" - even though the entire crowd was infinitely more "electric" in the 4th quarter. I think this has to do with how high we sat in the stadium. I have to believe it was just as deafening this year at field level, if not more-so. FWIW, I love sitting under the speakers in the north endzone. I gives me the green light to yell my fool head off. Before the rawk music, I would start yelling but hardly anyone else in my section would chime in - now with the rawk being piped in so loud, I'm seeing far more people getting into it. Final Note: Don't wait until the opposing offense lines up at the line of scrimmage to start yelling loudly -- do it as soon as they huddle up! It was like this at the ND game 2 years ago - it was loud during every down of that game (not just 3rd down), and it started as soon as they huddled up. Disrupt their communication in the huddle as well as at the line of scrimmage when they try to call an audible. |

I hope they're asleep all ready (or not). Noon doesn't seem like a fair shake, but I'll take whatever advantage we can get. I would have assumed 330. Will be interesting. |

Does anyone know if the MMB has ever performed Springsteen's "Born to Run"? I've always thought that would be a killer tune to do for any marching band, especially the MMB who would put a great performance with the music. |

is a good sign. My cousin was hit by a car when he was 15 and had a closed head injury and was in a coma for 3 months before coming out of it. It was a long haul, and still is - but they had to feed my cousin through an external tube into his stomach, and I don't see them squeezing a hot wing down a tube that small. Godspeed Austin. Praying for a full recovery. |
