| 18 hours 20 min ago | Finally drank out of a pineapple. |
It was everything I hoped and dreamed it could be. Also, I forgot how strong caribou lou was; should be in for a good night. |
| 20 hours 21 min ago | If you either have Twitter... |
or can get to Twitter just to search, @umichsoftball updates all the time. |
| 22 hours 2 min ago | LB Dante Booker to OSU |
Posted yesterday. |
| 1 day 8 min ago | Try this. | |
| 1 day 19 min ago | Got a friend coming into town later today. |
Bought the supplies for tacos and caribou lou out of cups made of pineapples at the pool a few days ago, and now that looks like a dumb decision. OTOH tacos and liquor are rarely a bad combination, and I've always wanted to drink something out of a pineapple. |
| 1 day 43 min ago | Not as of about three years ago. |
Bought both trilogies so I'd finally have my own copies, and it's still there. Honestly I'm not sure you can get rid of it since it's part of that sequence where Han is getting so frustrated before coming back for Leah as the ice starts to cave in. Maybe not an integral plot device, but the evacuation might look weird without it. If anyone cares, I think it's something like: Yes, I realize my placement of IV and V is weird. Whatever. |
| 1 day 10 hours ago | That's just from Notre Dame, though. |
Michigan pays Hoke a base salary of $300,000 with total compensation at $2.2m, so it stands to reason that Kelly is making a significant amount more than what ND reports as his base salary. I'm sure the sports networks and Adidas pay Kelly right about what they pay Hoke, which is where most of the money in a coaches contract comes from anyway. |
| 1 day 12 hours ago | My fault. |
Not yours. |
| 1 day 12 hours ago | Considering my weekly in-season post... |
was all centered on Vegas and had LSA as a regular, plus jamiemac doing his thing and Brian seeming to pick along Vegas lines in his preview, I'd say go for it. About the thread, I originally thought the thread title referenced M playing. OTOH I came back to the apartment today and passed out for quite a while, so I was pretty groggy when I read it the first time. An open thread for M wouldn't have made much sense, but like I said above, question withdrawn if this had been the title the whole time. |
| 1 day 12 hours ago | Yeah I agree. |
Close game, you take the point, even with whatever tiny amount of time there was left. If a team pulls the goalie they're operating under the premise that they could come back, and there's no reason for the attacking player to act differently. |
| 1 day 12 hours ago | Is this real life? |
Wings over Hawks 9-2 over the last nine periods? As someone who grew up playing with Blackhawks fans and heard a lot of shit before this series, this makes me very, very happy. |
| 1 day 13 hours ago | Smith with consecutive good plays... |
on two ends of the ice? Definitely take that, shame it didn't go in though. |
| 1 day 13 hours ago | I didn't believe it either. |
Just looked it up and apparently it's listed as a line somewhere. Given that you would have to triple the last score to hit the over, I'm guessing this sportsbook will just be lucky if there isn't much action taken (which I have to guess will be the case). |
| 1 day 13 hours ago | OT - Etymological Voracity |
A typo in a transcript is not threadworthy, nor should anyone attempt to make anything the White House says or does with the tiniest relation to MGoBlog into a thread. |
| 1 day 14 hours ago | I'm confused as well. |
2:00 ESPNU tomorrow, then Saturday 12:00 ESPN. What's the thread tonight for, MGoSoftball? Edit: Was the title always just "Softball Super Regionals Open Thread"? Withdraw the question if so, I just didn't think it was. |
| 2 days 19 hours ago | "I don't feel anything...you are so weak." | |
| 2 days 20 hours ago | We had at least one track meet in HS... |
that had some crazy events tacked on at the end, including a 4*4 restricted to shotputters. That was always an awesome race to watch. |
| 2 days 20 hours ago | Never really got into watching all star games. |
But I like seeing the NHL skills competition, and the dunk competition is the only NBA I make a point of watching in a given year (although the three point contest is also very cool). I imagine the home run derby is great for baseball fans also, but it's not like football is really set up to do anything like the best of those other three. If you want to watch guys run 40's or bench press the combine seems a lot easier to care about than guys already on a team. Yes, I'm aware none of this is about the actual Pro Bowl or the proposed changes. |
| 2 days 22 hours ago | HEY!!!!! |
You can't talk about Moleskyn like that, he's spent more time on the site than you have. |
| 3 days 17 hours ago | Gotcha. |
I'm on Android and rarely use the app (I lose my modding buttons) even there, although I do have it installed. Just linking should still be an option, but if it's Facebook the link needs to be to the picture itself and not the picture in the profile. |
| 3 days 17 hours ago | Congrats! |
To load a picture, link to it from an image hosting site (Facebook, Flikr, TinyPic) using the "image" button on the far right in a comment or in your OP. Just click the button and paste the link, I don't know if this will work from the iPhone app or if you need an actual browser to do it. |
| 4 days 11 hours ago | Part one of the rule... |
says that it's interference if the attacking player's presence impairs the goaltender's ability to defend his goal. I was surprised they called it, but I think the call was the right one in the technical sense. |
| 4 days 12 hours ago | I do agree that technically the call was correct. |
But that's not the way people are used to seeing the rule applied. He was screening Howard with both feet squarely inside the crease (at least for a second, which I'm sure is when the referee went from looking at the action within the circle over to Howard and the slot), so it's tough to feel sorry for him, but I doubt very much that even the Wings on the ice felt they would get that call. |
| 4 days 13 hours ago | I feel like there's an NFL |
I feel like there's an NFL replacement referee joke to be had there somewhere, or at least would have been ten months ago. |
| 4 days 13 hours ago | I think it was too. |
But only seeing it twice and not seeing the referees head/back referees position is going to make me hedge a bit on saying anything for certain. Again, I agree (and maybe "questionable" was the wrong word) like I said above, Franzen was almost defenitely "defenseless" by the common interpretation and boarding was probably the correct call. |
| 4 days 13 hours ago | The no-call there was questionable. |
With the way they've been calling stuff, Franzen almost definitely fits the "defenseless" critera in the boarding rule. I don't know why NBC is assuming people are confused about the no-whistle, but calling boarding in that situation was probably the correct thing to do. |
| 5 days 3 hours ago | This should be a posbanged post. |
ULL is one of the better mid-majors of the past decade; them beating LSU is probably more impressive than Michigan beating Cal with Henderson hurt. I didn't get to see much of the Ann Arbor or Baton Rouge regionals, but I'm hoping to catch up in the next few days. |
| 5 days 15 hours ago | UCLA decided this time yesterday... |
that they were interested in winning the regional. The difference in their batters between game one v. UAB and the first five innings of the IPFW game and the last two in addition to their last two games is completely absurd. They had scored five runs and given up six in their first 13 innings. They've scored 31 and given up four in the last 16 they've played. |
| 6 days 19 hours ago | Toronto is definitely first in that group. |
But it's pretty much the Wings and Canadiens and then the other four. Not winning a cup in the expansion era is a big knock on their tradition relative to Detroit and Montreal. What does Boston have? Two Cups in the seventies? Orr>Hull? |
| 6 days 19 hours ago | Maybe. |
But it's not like five of the Original Six have been excellent since 1942 and they're the outlier. If they have less tradition than Boston, NYR, and Toronto, it isn't by much. |
