Loved hearing the chant of, "DEFENSE" for that brief moment in the 4th quarter.

Thanks for the share! Upgraded the entire family.
|1 year 6 weeks ago||What complaints????||
Where did you see Clemson lobby for it? Just wondering?
|1 year 6 weeks ago||Not a huge deal...||
As a former college athlete, you need to realize athletes schedule classes around practice as much as possible. Where it's unavoidable, sure you overlap some of the normal practice time. It happens. Sometimes classes are only offered at a particular time. If it's part of their major and it's just so happens there aren't other classes to fill the schedule with or they can't plan ahead to take that class in the offseason, then they have to deal with it.
It's pretty difficult to carve out a time for 100 guys to all show up and have zero scheduling conflicts. It's not high school where there might be an athletic period to do walktrhoughs or watch video and then practice is at the end of the day after classes are all done. There are classes all day long and you can't help it sometimes if a class is only offered during team practice.
It's not the NCAA saying skip class. They're giving Clemson room to make a call. Can't penalize Bama the way the rule is written. ESPN worded their story poorly--surprise surprise. If the expectation of the athletes is to skip that class for practice, that's on the university and the athletic program.
Clemson's first day of class was yesterday, January 6, which is when the limitation kicks in. Unless I am not remembering the rules from my orientation correctly, they could have practiced extra up until yesterday when they became subjected to a prorated number for the week or the 4 hours per day.
The article shows even with that limit lifted, players need a waiver from the professor to miss that class, which is no different from when I played. If there was something big going on and we weren't traveling or on the road that day, we could miss with permission. If said professor was in dick mode, then you had to deal with it... and we're most likely talking about one class as I'm sure tomorrow is a travel day anyways.
Again, I know the NCAA (and Bama) are not exaclty favorites around here, but it's an awkward situation that Dabo handled perfectly.

I don't know if the sling is related, but I'm just throwing it out there--and I'm sure i'm not the only person that noticed it--that he took a big hit at the end of the OSU game. It was big enough to shake him up. He came off to the sideline, arm dangling a little, shaking it around some, and immediately after they we forced a punt. As he came off, he was pointing for another player (Darboh, I believe) to go out and field the punt.
I guess we will wait until the details come out on this problem, but here's to hoping it's not serious.

"Huh? Does that mean me?"

I see what you did there.

Sharing a birthday with you, my friend, is just fine by me. Enjoy your day!
|1 year 46 weeks ago||No Excuse||
18 years old or not, which he's not, by the time the press conference rolls around, you've had time regain your composure. You're not talking about something happening on the floor in the heat of the moment.
There's no excuse for this. As an ex-athlete, I'm giving him no slack. And, imagine if it were the other way around, same words were mumbled by Kaminsky about Harrison. Hmmm.

I see what you did there. Being from Texas, I laughed.
|2 years 1 week ago||Not overlooked at all||
It was a hypothetical question, and I am not proposing the idea.
|2 years 1 week ago||Absolutely, too much...||
Good info. I agree that is too much of a price to pay. A buddy of mine here in Texas said A&M isn't having one this year b/c of stadium renovations, so that idea of an off campus venue came up. I told him I was sure there was probably some fine print somewhere, so thanks for the response.
|2 years 1 week ago||Rules on Playing at Alternate Venues?||
Does anyone know if there is a rule about playing at an alternate venue?
I mean, the Big House is the Big House, but if the weather is that bad, could a team have the opportunity to play indoors, say at Ford Field?
|2 years 4 weeks ago||LDness....||
Little-Dickness, as Brady Elliot points to, a condition where an individual can't help themselves and hold their tongue when needed, because they have to remain so focused on holding something else. Just beat it... No pun intended.
|2 years 7 weeks ago||Agreed...||
I agree, even with a loss like that to an Oregon team, not sure the B1G gets a bad perception. I honestly think you'll see many stories about Ohio State, even with the loss to Oregon should it happen, and how the win against Bama did a lot in starting to shift the "tide" if you will. As much as it pains me to say it, it's probably good that it's OSU, because the media tends to have a love fest for them and Urban. In the end, B1G will gain from it.
Fyi, just checked and B1G is 5-4 in bowl games with Iowa to play Tennessee today, and then the NCG of course, but still a solid record when looking at the wins and losses in terms of quality.

If I remember correctly, kid was committed to Bama, flipped to Auburn, and now with their issues he's obviously looking elsewhere now.

Still having issues, want iLivid to be downloaded, but it's a Window's .exe file. Maybe it's not meant to be?
|4 years 20 weeks ago||What site are you using??? I||
What site are you using??? I need one too, and I'm on a Mac or an iPad. The First Row site was giving me compatibility issues.
|4 years 20 weeks ago||Is there any live streaming||
Is there any live streaming online anywhere? I'm in Vegas, only have Mac or iPad, so it has to be compatible with that. I would use Big Ten Network 2 Go, but Comcast isn't a provider covered for streaming yet.
Any help would be great. GO BLUE!!!
|4 years 20 weeks ago||Spikes is actually the one||
Spikes is actually the one that made the decision to sit out the entire game. I apologize for not finding the story or a link, but I'm not able to right now. I'm sure someone else can search it quickly, I'm just in a hospital waiting room. I believe Urban suspended him for a half (maybe a quarter), but Spikes stood up and chose to sit the entire game.

Not so ironic then. Lol.
But still, it's much easier to follow their lay out.
|4 years 21 weeks ago||Similar to TWIS||
So, here's another one, like the TWIS... and ironically they have a new layout too. Easier to read, and good content too, even though it is rollbamaroll.com. Always guaranteed a few good laughs.
|4 years 21 weeks ago||Agreed.||
|4 years 21 weeks ago||Won't be gone long. Like||
Won't be gone long. Like others have said, there is too much to gain for both sides. Give me a low risk, high reward investment any day.
Obviously I can't start a thread, so no thread jack here--someone can move if need be. I know rollbamaroll.com isn't everyone's favorite around here, but they are good for a read on Tuesdays.
(No UM in there, so it's safe.)
|4 years 32 weeks ago||Speaking of Bama...||
...any word on when those tickets will be mailed out???
|4 years 36 weeks ago||Good Luck!||
Good luck to your buddy and his friend! Hope all goes well.
I'll also add that I live in Houston, which is notorious for its medical field. There have been a few of these in the media lately, and they have each received great reviews and have been very successful.
Just my $0.02... I'm thinking it's a good sign they feel like making the procedure available live. Obviously we don't know any details, but I'm sure they feel very confident about what they are going to do if they are making this their first "broadcast."
Definitely a cool use of the social networking tools we have.
Give us an update.
|5 years 10 weeks ago||Agreed. I like the look,||
Agreed. I like the look, could even get used to seeing those on the road full-time. Like others have said though, no white pants.
Something unrelated... anyone have a good suggestion for a flag for the house??? I bought the one from the link below, but it is terrible. It came to the house, and the "M" is not Michigan maize. It's more gold, like Missouri's color on the Navy--brutal in person.
We're in Houston, so I can't really see any in person. I was hoping for some MGo help. I'm trying to get one for our new house to fly on gameday!
