Niko Porikos grew up in an NTDP billet home. Cool story.

There's a certain coach in New England who has made quite the living on developing players with less than stellar measurables.

Thank goodness Boise St. lost. I absolutely hate seeing them in the conversation for BCS bowls every year. Or, in this year's case, the national championship.
They play absolutely nobody save about 1 decent opponent (Georgia, Va. Tech, etc.) each year and get lucky and win. If they played stacked competition like real teams in real conferences they'd be lucky to get 7 or 8 wins.
It's a disgrace that Kellen Moore is even in the Heisman conversation and that he will leave CFB as the winningest QB of all time. He plays against teams with no NFL talent and racks up tons of yards each game.

Would the staff take a commitment from Reeves at any time, or would they for sure need to know that Terry Richardson is out the door, taking visits, no longer committed?

This actually came from Bill Parcells when he was in Dallas in the 2000s. Does seem a bit childish and unprofessional, given that the players have made it all this way to the NFL. Then again, they aren't guaranteed a spot on the roster, so it's not exactly totally ridiculous.

How does a guy who can't memorize the words to a fight song know an entire offensive playbook and command a huddle?

I think he might have meant overall ranking in 2012. Not a top-10 QB, but a top-10 player.
That would certainly assure him of 5-star status.

Does this have anything to do with Hill being offered as a FB? Perhaps he wants to be a RB instead in college.

Obviously they have two different recruiting styles for two different systems, both defensively and offensively. However, I'm not exactly sure you can just look at the listed weight of recruits on recruiting websites as a deciding point in looking how the two recruit.
The players' weight is often not up to date or just totally inaccurate. Between the major recruiting websites, it is possible to see a recruit weigh 185 on one and 210 on another. Who is right? You never know until they get on campus.
Also, the 200 lb over/under number is subjective -- it is a number you chose. If you bumped it up to 250, obviously the recruits would be about the same, with the number above 250 mainly being just defensive lineman and offensive lineman.
I don't think players' weight is the best way to understand recruiting style but nonetheless the two coaches are drastically different as you have pointed out.

Good post until "So going into 2009..."
No way you can say how Pryor or Robinson would have reacted in Pryor's sophomore season. No telling how Rodriguez would have handled a guy with the ego and attitude of Pryor.
Let's just be thankful that he didn't come and tarnish the legacy of the maize and blue.

Interesting in comparing the approach to M. Dantonio. I don't want Hoke to be lenient with this punishment. Unfortunately for Stonum, he will be made an example of for current and future Wolverines. This is a serious offense and I anticipate serious consequences for Stonum.

GPA and ACT score don't necessarily correlate. It is easy to boost your GPA by taking easy elective classes like an easy health class or music class. I don't think we should be worried about GPA and ACT. Both would have him qualified by the NCAA.
We should be concerned with that offer list. This kid must be good with offers from all of those schools.
|4 years 28 weeks ago||I was accepted to Michigan||
I was accepted to Michigan but chose to go to the University of Texas because out-of-state tuition is so incredibly high. On my academic tour of the campus the counselor broke down how they look at potential students
Grades and rigor of academic classes: I was enrolled in lots of AP courses and made good grades (top 10% of my class).
Extracurriculars: Lots of volunteering, community service (National Honor Society looks great), and perhaps a job or internship.
Application essays: Make it personal, make it believable, make it something you are knowledgeable about - don't sound like you copied and pasted from somewhere.
Teacher rec letters: Teachers have to be able to write favorably about your child from a classroom and personal perspective. Advise your child to really get to know a few of his high school teachers well, as well as the guidance counselor
Hope this helps!
