More likely is that while the Pats starting PSI is 12.5, the Colts may have started at 13.5, as is apparently more the preference of most QBs.

I will never understand why Walton and Spike drive the baseline with multiple defenders in their face. Stay high and work away from the edge. Way too many times stepping out of bounds.

Belichick benching running backs whole fumble. Stevan Ridley was clearly their best back last year and yet Belichick was willing to risk not having his production in the game multiple times last year in order to ensure better ball-security. Did Mike Hart use deflated balls while at Michigan? He had a multiple season stretch without a fumble, if I remember correctly. The coach just placed emphasis on ball security more than yards/carry.
|6 days 20 hours ago||Or how about the fact that||
Or how about the fact that when you fumble, Belichick usually sits your ass for a full game. I think that's motivation enough to ensure I have a more secure grip on the ball. Look at what happened to Ridley multiple times because he was the Patriot prone to fumbling. Are we, if we believe this article, also to assume that Mike Harr used deflated footballs at Michigan? He had a record-setting stretch where he didn't lose a football. I believe it was multiple seasons long. More haterade from those salivating in the media because if there's one thing better for ratings than a scandal, it's a scandal involving a team that WINS.

Actually, Jackson is on the record saying he didn't "snitch" on the Pats and simply wanted to keep his first post-season INT game ball.

Actually, I saw a quote where Harbaugh said they didn't notice anything last week. His only beef was formation-gate.

I would actually prefer that they report that they were all the exact same pressure. That would point more towards a scientific explanation and less to manipulation. As you pointed out, without whipping out a pressure gauge in the middle of Gillette, it'd be nearly impossible to deflate them all the same.

Ok, so 1) I said it's unlikely, but possible with science. 2) we haven't heard a damn thing about the Colts balls, so who's to say they didn't have a couple suffering the same way.

|1 week 3 days ago||There's always the minor||
There's always the minor chance that weather (differential in temp from inflation-game temp, atmospheric pressure changes, etc) could have impacted this. It's my understanding that the NFL uses 20*C (68*F) as their standard. So if the temp for game time was 50*F (10*C), that could account for .5-.75 PSI differential. Partner that with the fact that balls naturally lose PSI due to the nature of football (lots of compression from hits, etc) and I could easily see a drop in the 1 PSI range. If Belichick and the Pats skirted the minimum of 12.5 PSI, this could mean an eventual PSI of 11.5 or so, which is 2 PSI lower than normal max accepted PSI. Again, I'm sure I'm stretching things, but I just can't see 11/12 being deflated intentionally. Wy not all 12?

I'm just curious how in the hell they're going to prove this was intentional and lay it at a specific person's feet. Do you really think there's some video of a ball-boy deflating balls on the sideline? Not to mention, how does a Colts DB immediately recognizes a deflated ball upon touching it once and the ref, who handles the ball each play, doesn't? I'm sorry, even as a Pats homer, I'm still trying to be objective. If they can prove it, hit those responsible hard, but something seems off here.
