Bought a copy of NCAA

Bought a copy of NCAA Football next to Junior Hemingway once down at the Game Stop near the mall. Wasn't sure it was him and he put his wallet on the counter to take out his credit card. It was him. Gave him a Go Blue and he replied in kind.

If already a UMAA member, how does one procure the Utah tickets from them? I didn't see anything on the website.

Not saying John doesn't have a clue, but it isn't towers that are being installed. TE Connectivity has installed a DAS (distributed antenna system) for Verizon and ATT. Not a ton of info out there on it otherwise than that.

As a former MMB member, I must commend you on the fact that the woodwind feature you have here is phenomenal. Best part of The Victors IMO.

I have confirmation that the AD has at the very least been soliciting information on stadium wifi. Wifi is much easier to deploy than a DAS in a situation like this because you don't need deprecate equipment for each carrier. That being said, it is far from an easy deployment, but it can be done.

Wow.  Just wow.  This is like a cross between the ND video and Hot Hot Hot to me.

I see exactly what you are talking about here. This does appear to be him and not his brother. Wish him the best at Ferris State.

The difference with Shipley

The difference with Shipley is that he was injured in both 2004 and 2005.  Jake Ryan's original redshirt wasn't due to an injury so it isn't the same situation.

I've been reading some more

I've been reading some more and it sounds like there is really a very slim chance that he'd get it.  His original redshirt wasn't due to a medical hardship, so he isn't eligible under the rules for a medical redshirt where we usually see people get a 6th year.  It sounds like he is able to apply for a redshirt after his fifth year, but those seemingly rarely get granted.  And as you metioned, he'd most likely be gone by then.

Redshirt?

I know he already redshirted a year, but what are the chances that he can get medical hardship?  I mean, we have seen the NCAA do this before, no?

Ticket Available!

Just wanted to throw up a reply, I have an extra ticket to the game that is available! Section 19, Row 90. I'm willing to give you a good deal on it and we can just meet up at the game or I can FedEx it to you. Just trying to help out my fellow MGoBloggers. Shoot me an email at jongent at me dot com if you are interested!

Another one from the past few years...

Another one from the past few years that I have been wondering about that hopefully the board can help out with.  I want to say it was in 2010, but I am not 100% sure.  It was either a punt return or a kickoff return where they ran a reverse and it went for either a TD or went very deep into the red zone.  I was a student at Michigan at the time but for some reason nobody remebers.  If you know of a video of it, that'd be even better.  Thanks in advance!

We adopted last year and had

We adopted last year and had the same conundrum but a little different because our dog is a female.  We ended up settling on Charlee Beau.  The first name of Charlee is obviously an homage to the one and only Charles Woodson.  The middle name... do I even need to spell it out?  Just a more feminine version of Bo.  Congrats on the dog!

Glad someone set this up.

Signed.

We need to get Shane

We need to get Shane involved!  He has got some serious pull around the Michigan twitterverse.

It just doesn't seem fair for

It just doesn't seem fair for a group that puts in so much work for the University and is so loved by the fan base.

RE: Can they not afford

According to the person that told me, the Athletic Department is treating it as 'just another away game' so there is no budget for the band to go.  For a group that puts in so much work for the University and really does a lot to help motivate the fans/players during games, it just seems stupid to me.

No Band v Bama at Jerryworld

Sorry to be that guy and threadjack, but to make the game at Jerryworld even more of an uphill battle, I just heard from a friend that the band isn't going to be taken on the trip.  It is going to be treated just like any other away game.  Since when is a neutral-site game against a defending national champion like any other away game?  It just seems odd (not to mention ridiculous) not to have the band at one of the most anticipated and difficult game of the year.

You know what they say...

Sparty gonna spart.  It'll be interesting to see how this plays out in the mainstream media if true.  (Looking at you Freep)

At Duffy's in Chicago...

And I have been drinking everything from Bud Light to vodka tonics. All unlimited from 6 to 11. Needless to say, it's been a great night at a great Michigan bar.

From Chicago

it was $407 after taxes.  Good thing I had that credit from when United messed up last time...

Denard and Lewan...

My friend carved a Taylor and Denard celebration.

MAC Team...

Isn't UMass joining the MAC for football in 2012?

I will be missing...

The first game with the new scoreboards, but perhaps more importantly, the first game with Brady Hoke at the helm. My fiancé's brother is getting married on Mackinac Island (where in case you don't know, is basically cutoff from civilization). I'm sure I'll be watching the game on Gametracker, but it just won't be the same. The funniest part about the whole thing? The two getting married went to Western Michigan and my fiancé and I went to Michigan.

Although I found out in an email

It was one heck of an email. In a video, Mary Sue congratulated me on my acceptance to U of M. My parents started running around the house and freaking out. It was good times. 5 years later, I've graduated and moved to Chicago, but I'll be back for every home game this year.

It's real all right...

I was there over the weekend and the three concrete headers in front of the one that says, "GO BLUE" have 'The Team, The Team, The Team."  Looking in from the mouth of the tunnel, each one gets a little larger than the last.  Pretty cool effect, and I am loving it.

One other change that we noticed is outside the Michigan locker room door.  There is a red rose now painted as well as the years that we won the Big Ten Champion.  I think that it all looks really great.

Burning the midnight oil...

On testing the new scoreboards!

Going to the billboard tomorrow. Picture is pending.

Rodriguez

started it.  As you may have noticed, only when we won did the team come over and sing.

National Anthem

singer was absolutely horrible.  I couldn't even believe it.  He had a pretty decent voice, but when he added in a hearty "Yeah!"  We couldn't stop laughing after that point.  Can't wait to hear the band again.  Maybe a flyover or two as well during the National Anthem.  Yes, that'd be nice.

Furthermore

The number changes from year to year dependent on the number of twirlers on the field during pregame.  235 is just not accurate.  Beyond that, I do believe that it is also a tip of the hat to the reserves who are also members of the MMB but aren't participating in pregame.

I think the piped in music is

I think the piped in music is crap. I went on the road to PSU last year and hearing all the hype of that stadium, I thought it was going to be an epic experience. Could I have been more wrong? (The correct answer is no). I thought the overall experience there made that annoying Wildcat Roar at NU look amazing. The band never played, and I thought that the experience overall was extremely underwhelming. I have never been to a game at the Big House that has had an atmosphere quite that bad. Maybe it was all the hype I had been hearing. Maybe I am biased. I just think that the great band we have is better than the best music you can pipe in no matter how loud or cool it is.

Clearly, if you are under the

Clearly, if you are under the impression that a band that is all brass and just blasts all the time is the greatest thing on the face of the earth, you are mistaken. The instrumentation that the band has is there for a reason. It is a marching band, not a drum corps. I think that your suggestion to just throw away the tradition of the MMB is almost as ridiculous as that stupid Wildcat Roar. BTW: You do realize that brass instruments are wind instruments, right?
