I'm glad to see somebody beat me to the "I'm moving to Michigan, and you're welcome to come with me" approach.
|2 days 2 hours ago||seems unlikely||
People don't get filthy rich by ignoring ROI.
|2 days 2 hours ago||"wither"?||
|5 days 20 hours ago||Too much for this blog||
I don't think you should insult a major world religion by pretending that Christianity involves buying into objectively stupid, provably false pseudo-science, but it'd be kind of out of bounds around here to keep going on about this, so let's drop it.
|5 days 23 hours ago||Do you also have no problem||
Do you also have no problem with UNC teaching fake African American Studies classes? I mean, if they'd rather do that, they should be allowed to, right?
|5 days 23 hours ago||we're really pushing it here...||
I guess I'll bite since there's an easy answer.
Because young earth creationism has as much to do with biology as bizarre conspiracy theories have to do with history. Imagine an astronomy department that is required to teach you about the planet Vulcan or a chemistry department that has to teach the caloric theory of heat. There'd be something wrong with a university that housed such departments, because they'd be misleading students about the body of facts established in those sciences and about the theories scientists working in those fields use to explain them. But Liberty's Department of Biology is doing something even worse than teaching outdated and discredited theories. It's teaching a theory that has never been found credible by any community of biologists for purely doctrinal purposes. Since no institution that operates with the express purpose of indoctrinating students can be a real university, Liberty is a fake one. Simple as that.
|5 days 23 hours ago||OP is the one I'm talking to||
I have an issue with fake schools calling themselves universities, yes, but ypsitucky seems to have a bone to pick with Michigan and I'm just trying to get him to be minimally responsible about what allegations he makes.
|5 days 23 hours ago||Got a legitimate media source||
Got a legitimate media source that says UM was "going to force" you off campus?
|6 days 49 min ago||Nope, both because you're||
Nope, both because you're imagining a sanction UM never threatened and because no sanction was ever levied. So wrong on two counts.
|6 days 1 hour ago||correct||
Liberty is the one that nearly lost its tax-exempt status for banning a student group associated with a major political party from reserving campus spaces, etc., and that requires its biology department to teach young earth creationism. It's a fake school, but (unlike Bob Jones) at least possibly less racist than Ole Miss.

Can we have a no fake colleges rule?

I trust you can figure out my response from that.
|1 week 1 day ago||I don't think the help guide||
I don't think the help guide is cheating. I think trying to crowdsource your essay and then identifying yourself in the thread is the kind of dumb shit people do on social media that gets them in trouble.
|1 week 1 day ago||LMAO||
Please internet, help me write this essay. This is almost definitely against the rules, but here is my uniqname in case you need to notify Ross that I don't actually know what I want to do with my life.
JMFC. You might as well just write that your dad is making you apply now.
|1 week 2 days ago||This is an insane change||
Granting an extra year of eligibility will be widely and immediately abused. Coaches will be telling athletes to go redshirt elsewhere before coming to campus to field teams of older players.

I don't know what JAMS is but what you are suggesting seems seriously illegal to me.
|1 week 4 days ago||Not really surprising||
He's broken as a QB and trying to compete at a position he hasn't played in more than a year. I might've miscounted, but I think only 33 receivers were drafted last year total. There are 128 FBS programs. The maize-colored glasses around here are crazy sometimes.

Your degree should be revoked.

I was kind of excited thinking I was going to learn more about this guy.
|2 weeks 18 hours ago||they'll annoy you more than you'll annoy them||
You might get crap from an asshole every once in a while, but I don't think it would be too weird. You'll have to be cognizant of the fact that you might make some of them uncomfortable: even if you aren't actively being creepy, they'll feel like somebody's parent is nearby, and that's fair enough. But you should also be able to make friends with at least some of the people around you (e.g., nerdy types who are actually watching the game will be much friendlier to you than drunk Greek system people). If you read this blog, you are liable to know more about the team than most of the people around you, and sometimes I made friends by being able to answer people's questions about what had happened or who a player was when I overheard them.
The real problem will be that it's a little bit obnoxious to sit in the student section on a regular basis once you're an adult. If you end up near freshman because of however they decide the pecking order for seating now, you might have to dodge puke occasionally. You'll have to stand on top of somewhat narrow and unsteady bleachers all game and your knees might not like it after a few games or even a few hours. You'll sometimes run into people trying to cram too many bodies into too few seats and then you'll be uncomfortable all game because of teenagers with no respect for anybody else. Etc.
Basis for comment: I finished my final Michigan degree at 30, so I sat in the student section well into my late 20s. The last couple of years I stopped sitting there, and I didn't even buy student season tickets my last year, because they won't do spousal tickets and I wanted to sit with my wife (and my family's tickets are on the 44, so yeah).

|2 weeks 23 hours ago||You think that's bad...||
They retroactively charged my parents upperclassmen tuition for my very first semester based on AP credits. Usually I got to schedule super early in exchange for the $800 or whatever, but that semester, I'd done my schedule during summer orientation with everybody else. So that was some bullshit.
But they can help you lop years off college if you want to. I'm pretty certain I could've graduated with one concentration (but probably no minor) in 2 years if I had spent all of my credits checking off requirements.
|2 weeks 23 hours ago||I assume you are mostly joking||
But I went to UM from out of state in 2002 with very little in the way of extracurricular achievement. Test scores were really good, but still, it's not necessary to schedule yourself to death. Don't let anybody else make your life a rat race.
|2 weeks 23 hours ago||Unless you graduated||
Unless you graduated post-2008, your second paragraph is pretty ridiculous. You were in a boom economy.

I don't see why he should have cooperated with the NCAA's investigation. And isn't lying to the grand jury at least partially explained by the NCAA's gun to his career's head?
|2 weeks 1 day ago||He's not culpable||
The NCAA is. The court system is in the process of making it official and undeniable that the NCAA is and has been at fault. Webber was just a guy who didn't kneel to the establishment.
