Sadly, free speech rights are being rolled back everywhere. Both environmental activism and demonstrations recognizing Palestinians' basic human rights are so unacceptable to people in power that they are willing to curtail free speech to stop them. See the UK's Public Order Act 2023. Plenty of examples here in Sweden also.
