the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

| 1 week 6 days ago | Come on |
Does literally everytime one of our taregets commits to another school some posters have to say we cooled on him? Doles is a good recruit, we wanted him, he had an offer, but he decided on Noprthwestern, NW is a great school with a good football team. Can't we just wish the kid good luck rather thaan sound childish and pretend we didn't really want him. Good luck Mr. Doles, hope you're successful and have a great college career save for one weekend a year.

| 2 weeks 5 days ago | Good for them |
Payne is a very talented player, MSU will be good and will desrve to be ranked top 3 and be the favorite in the B1G. 3 McD's All Americans and a 5 star in their starting lineup is formidable. Think we'll be a top 12 team to start and could improve on that as the season goes. Like our lineup too, not worried, the games are won on the court not in the polls. Would not surprise me to see both MSU and Michigan in the Final Four next season. Kentucky has to be #1, the class they are bringing in is hard to believe, if they get Wiggins, it will be 7 McD's AA's in one class and I think 7 of the top 13 players, that's just silly, the Fab 5 had 4 of the top 12 I believe. |
| 4 weeks 1 day ago | Please |
Please come back!!!! Please!!! Harris is officially back for State and people are now tweeting it looks like Payne is coming back too, we need both of these guys to compete with them for the B1G title! |
| 4 weeks 1 day ago | Bummer |
Happy for Tim, but sad to see him go. Harris is officially coming back for State, ugh. If they don;t lose Payne, they are going to be tough to beat. |
| 4 weeks 2 days ago | Class |
Any truth to the rumor that 3 of our basketball players haven't returned to class after the finals? I've read it a few places. |
| 4 weeks 3 days ago | Good luck to Tim |
I look at thiings a little different I guess. I want Tim to go pro, because this is the best time for him to go IMO. He's not going to help himself by playing a 4th year. Good luck to him and I hope he succeeds. GR3? If he's top 15, he has to go too IMO. Mitch? He needs to come back, period. A few great games in the toruney propelled him from undrafted to top 15 pick? I don't buy it and neither should Mitch. Come back, work on your game and consistency and then see where you're at. The only thing that might make him go is his age, he's already almost 21 years old. |
| 5 weeks 3 days ago | Feel fine |
It was a great game and our boys left it all on the floor, they gave everything they had, played their hearts out and just came up a little short against a great team. Thought the refs missed some calls both ways, to be honest, not sure how we weren't getting called for a lot more fouls when Behanen had the ball in the paint. Can't blame the refs one bit. |
| 7 weeks 20 hours ago | 2 point underdogs |
I saw we're 1.5 to 2 point dogs depending on where you look. I think Kansas's tourney experience is the reason for that. Should be a great game, hope our guard play is the difference. |
| 7 weeks 5 days ago | Underdog |
Have to think we'll be about a 2-3 point dog versus Kansas. |
| 7 weeks 5 days ago | tale of 2 havles |
1st half KU we win going away, 2nd half KU and we'll have our hands full. Hate to say this, but KU reminds me of Michigan State. Great defense, rangy athletes, and murder on the boards. Also tuen it over a lot. Going to be a war. |
| 8 weeks 19 hours ago | A10 |
Whoa, with Lasalle up big on K State, the Atlantic 10 conference is looking pretty good, will probably go 4-1 in the opening round with some very good performances. |
| 8 weeks 21 hours ago | Akron beat Penn State |
I know Akron was short handed last night, but they blew out Penn State by 25, also beat Ohio by 14 and 7. Akron is a good basketball team. Just not sure if they were anywhere near close to full strength, regardless, VCU absolutely dismantled them like a #1 seed would do. Like our chances, but this is going to be a tough tough game. |
| 8 weeks 22 hours ago | fatigue |
Their press is good, but it's a means to an end. The fact that they have 11 guys that get at least 7 minutes a game tells you what their strategy aims to do. They want to take a team's legs. The key to this game will be Beilein using a deep rotation and giving Hardaway, Burke, GRIII, and Stauskus longer blows than usual, especially in the 1st half. Spike needs to be able to bring the ball up against this press or Burke won't have much left at the end of the game. Also, take the layups and dunks when you break the press, but don't get caught up in taking every open 3, they may fall early, but with tired legs eventually they won't fall as often and VCU lives off the fast break off from long rebounds. I want to see us run, but run smart, cannot get into a helter skelter game with these guys. The teams that beat them generally were able to slow it down some. |
| 8 weeks 1 day ago | Good |
Sparty will be out in force, no big deal though. VCU was more than impressive last night, I love what they do on the basketball floor. I think Burke controlling the pace will be the key to victory, we'll be tempted to get into the helter skelter pace they want us in, but we have to control the break and take layups and dunks rather than 3 pointers off from it. It's going to be a tough game, I know we like to run, but you have to run smart and not let things get out of control, that's what they want. VCU also plays all 12 guys with 11 of them averaging at least 7 minutes a game, they want to wear teams down that choose to run with them. Bottom line, if we play their pace, we will have a hard time keeping up in the 2nd half. |
| 8 weeks 1 day ago | Wow. |
Do not attempt to run with VCU. I know we have great athletes, but this team plays 12 guys every game and just goes all game. You get the ball into half court and sprint back, when we break their press we only take the shot if we have a layup or a dunk. VCU is very entertaining to watch. I really hope we play the game we want against them because that's the best team I've seen in the tourney so far. |
| 8 weeks 2 days ago | Fudge!!! |
The best player on our Defense and most disruptive force on that side of the ball we've had in quite some time. He was a huge difference maker. |
| 8 weeks 2 days ago | NOOO!!! |
You need disrupters on defense and Jake was easily our most disruptive player. Even when he didn't make the tackle, Jake was blowing up plays all year long. You aren't going to replace a guy like Jake, period. What you have to hope is that several other guys step their game up, if they don't the defense is not going to be the same. I thought our defense was going to have to have several guys step up to be close to as good as last year before Ryan was lost, now it's just really important that young guys develop quickly. We've basically lost our 5 best players(Ryan, Roh, Demens, Kovacs, Campbell) off that defense from last year and a 6th (Countess) is coming back from ACL surgery himself. I have faith in MAttison though that we will still be able to field a top tier defense. |
| 8 weeks 5 days ago | Decent draw |
SDSU is a win, not worried. VCU is one team I wanted to avoid, as well as Georgetown. Think we match up better with Florida so I will root for them. Kansas is a tough matchup for us as well should we get that far, big athletic guys and a center who lets nothng happen inside defensively. BUt, KU has had a few bad games, as has G'town. |
| 9 weeks 17 hours ago | overrated |
Team's talent is a little overrated. We played well and the media hype got us all excited thinking we had the 2012 Kentucky Wildcats roster full of talent, but the team isn't that talented. More talented than what we've seen here in a while, but not elite. With a good draw, I still like our chances at a Final Four. |
| 10 weeks 5 days ago | We come out strong playing |
We come out strong playing with emotion. Build an early 10+ point lead, MSU battles back to get it under 10 at halftime. 2nd half, MSU wears us down a little, but the game goes down to the wire. MSU just has a little too much energy at the end as the schedule makers gave them a huge advantage with a week off to rest and prepare.
MSU 73 Michigan 70 |
| 11 weeks 2 days ago | Hate to say it |
Hate to say it, but we're 5-5 ion our last 10, there is something on film that teams are studying to beat us, maybe several things. I don't know if Beilien has adjusted. Seems like it's always about getting back to playing how we played earlier, well, maybe we need to play differently, the truly great coaches recognize what teams are doing differently and make adjustments. I don't see a lot fo adjustments. |
| 11 weeks 2 days ago | Embarrassing |
But...PSU played a whale of a game and deserved this. I still think we're a good team, but just not elite. I see us as a team that can still make some noise in the Tourney with the right draw, but I no longer see a title contender. The game Sunday could be rough, the schedule picked the absolute worst time to give a wounded Sparty afull week of rest of film study, you know Izzo will have that team ready. If we win that game it will be on pure emotion because all signs point to advantage Sparty. GO BLUE!!! I still like this team, we just weren't quite as good as we though a few weeks ago, but still, this program is in good shape. |
| 12 weeks 6 days ago | Ugh. |
He was beyond awful for them last year. Pretty astute move by Dantonio IMO. He has ties to the Saints, he needed to get rid of Roushar, but didn't want to have to fire him, so Dantonio got him an interview with an NFL team. With a decent OC, MSU might have won a few more games last year. |
| 33 weeks 5 days ago | Same as before |
I'll stay the same as before the year. Best case was 10-2 Worst case was 7-5 Most likely was 8-4 or 9-3, sticking with this. |
| 33 weeks 5 days ago | No big |
Seems like a good kid, but he didn't have very many good things to say about Michigan after a visit, didn't seem like he was a Michign man, said something to the effect of he wasn't too impressed with Michigan. Good luck to him, but we've got better options among the kids who want to come here. |
| 35 weeks 2 days ago | Disappointing |
This is a sad day for Michigan Football, I know I'll get flamed, but Clark should not be playing as a convicted felon, give him a redshirt for the year and let him go throught the program that gets the felony expunged from his record, bring him back next season and he gets to continue his football career. What people aren;t talking about is that this is a big risk for Hoke, what if Clark violates his probation and has to do time? Hoke will get killed in the media. He did not do what was best for U of M Football IMO, he did what was best for his depth chart this season. |
| 35 weeks 3 days ago | Shakes head |
This is terrible, and although I think the kid deserves a 2nd chance, 1 game is absurd! This is felony home invasion, that he stole a computer is secondary, he broke into someone's place and who would have known what else could have happened if someone had been there, that's why the CJ system treats home invasion so seriously. 1 game is objectionable, just way below the standards we have come to expect at Michigan.
|
| 35 weeks 3 days ago | Agree |
This is awful IMO, I don't care what the circumstances are, Michigan has lost the moral high ground and I wont be saying a thing when one of Urban's kids gets in trouble and faces little punishment. He missed one game for felony home invasion, 1 GAME!!! While I don't believe he should be thrown off the team, missing the year or perhaps half the year was the minimum that would be right. |
| 35 weeks 6 days ago | Not good |
You can try to explain it away, but the bottom line is we have to be better on defense, especially the line. We just got pushed around and beat up by an offensive line that averages 253 lbs and a team that only returned 6 starters total from offense and defense combined. This type of effort isn't going to get it done the rest of the year. We just have to hope these guys develop. One thing that is killing us are the injuries, our depth on the D line iss not what it should be because of it. |
| 36 weeks 4 days ago | MSU? |
So are we judging our team by success againsty MSU now? I want to win the B1G and beat Ohio State, this program needs to get back to where beating MSU is an after thought not the primary goal of the season. That's their role not ours. MSU is not our measuring stick! |
