Date Title Body
The Brandon's

Do we know for a fact that DB doesn't refer to himself as the Brandon? That would both keep the focus on him and explain the apostrophe before the s. Although I guess he would probably capitalize the t in the if that was the case.

Lots of tickets are available for Munn next month...

It would be nice to maize out Munn.

What's the big deal with the OSU allegations?

It's not like they used towels taped in the general size and weight of a football in conjunction with offensive alignments outside the playing season.

Appropriate, yes.

But nobody cares.  There's been a week of save-the-game screaming already.  All that has gotten us is vomit-inducing PR-speak from the athletic department.  My "suggestions" above are petty and misdirected, but the athletic department's rolling on this makes me daydream about lashing out in counterproductive and childish ways.

Players have to graduate.  Bo and Ufer had to leave us too.  Being in a conference means we are going to get shafted for the sake of others sometimes.  Fair enough.  But the athletic department's trying to sell that this as a good thing makes me sick.  I'll pretend Northwestern and Minnesota bring as much to the conference as U of M and OSU and deserve equal shares of revenue.  But we have to give up the game too?  For what?  Enough revenue sharing for an extra crew scholarship for each school?  Blech.

Futile gesture ideas

If the announcement is not coming until mid-September, how about some futile fan statements at the UConn game:

Face away from the field for the first drive?

Green out?

Something else?

One other thing...

Bo also went for it on 4th and 1 from his own 31 with 29 seconds left -- a marked contrast with Corso's moral victory strategy.

My second UM game at age 7...

I can remember huddling with other strangers, listening to Ufer's afterglow on a radio at Elbel after the game ended.

Now, when even the fourth-best Sun Belt game of the week is televised, we get to see a lot more amazing finishes.  The play itself, weaving through tacklers to score as time expired, still holds up as something you just do not see.  All praise due to Lee Corso for the defense he called.

More than anything, these 15 seconds will tell you how powerful it was to see at the time:

EPIC FAIL Tyrone and Mike were great but ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAmliH79D6Q (check out the more info for his sick stat line) Heisman, College HOF, #1 pick in draft, essential to the ultimate creation of Summer School and NCIS. OK, maybe not the last one. But there was this too: http://michigantoday.umich.edu/2008/09/harmon.php If you're going back to put him on as honorable mention, you need to put him on the team.
