I am not saying that any of those things are necessarily wrong, but I think how you got to those conclusions is not necessarily right and you might end up being disappointed because of that.
I went to see him play a couple weeks ago when they played Groves and it was brutal. It was like watching Alabama play Alabama St. Everyone on Brother Rice is just bigger than Groves. The first play on offense for Brother Rice was a slant (or some other short-to-mid-range route across the middle of the field) and the receiver just weaved in and out of the defense for 70 yards. Runs were often 10 yards before the RB got touched. It was just a complete domination due to physically-gifted players at every position.
Brother Rice is like that in pretty much every sport. They have feeder programs at the lower levels and they recruit players to their schools. Obviously, there has to be some skill on Malzone's part, but he is surrounded by great players and has been since he first started. Three straight titles to me is a reflection of the skill across the team, not necessarily his leadership skills. A lot of the yards (from what I saw) are YAC and that is a reflection of the skill on his team. It's also a reason that they can keep the playbook simple with short, quick throws, which increases his completion percentage.
Long story short, I think he'll be great for us, especially if we end up with some sort of passing spread. I just wouldn't read too much into those numbers as there is just too much of a disparity of talent in high school sports for them to mean much.

I'm not sure why that matters. Coaches sign extensions all the time. If Michigan (or any other program) doesn't come knocking on his door, he needs to ensure his future. $250k is basically nothing if Michigan thinks that this is the guy that puts Michigan in the top 5 year after year.

I think this is a realistic take on our team. What the national media doesn't seem to see, though, is that our youth seem to develop very quickly under Beilein and have generally broken through by the tournament. I fully expect to have some frustrating games out of our bigs early on in the season with them being at least consistent and serviceable by the end. We will be relying on our guards to carry the team this year, though.

I didn't say I want anything. Just my read on an extremely unlikely situation.

Not to mention that we have a lot of young talent on the team that just needs proper coaching. This team is primed for someone to come in and look like a god in their first season.

I find it hard to believe that Hoke would be fired if we beat Maryland and OSU. Winning your last 4 games and beating OSU in Columbus will set up huge expectations next year. But, with that stipulation in place, I wouldn't doubt that they have a plan ready for when we get blown out by OSU.

Here's the problem with that logic (as I see it). The drive from Palo Alot to SD is 7.5 hours. It's not feasible for a weekend trip. So, if you're going to spend two full days traveling, getting on a plane makes little difference.

That's a good question. I assumed that it would be on mgoblue.com when I setup the viewing party at work, but now I'm wondering if we're just going to have to celebrate without a feed.

Prestige was entertaining. The Illusionist was a much more well-rounded movie, though.

I thought of Baseketball and Van Wilder a little bit ago. I'm glad someone else posted them.

I was going to say Primal Fear, but thought that it probably wasn't "underrated" as Edward Norton was nominated for an Academy Award for it. If we're including it, though, American History X has to be on the list. He absolutely should have won the award for best actor that year.

The conversation wasn't about Winston, it was about Fisher. The point was that he acts like this stuff doesn't happen at other schools when it happens all the time. He also said "If you want a coach like that, I suggest you become a fan of another program." I was just pointing out that this stuff has happened here. Fisher may or may not be "trash" but I wouldn't use Winston as an example of that. Glass houses and all.

Taylor Lewan threatened to rape that girl if she didn't shut keep her mouth shut.

Will Campbell slid across the hood of someone's car and caused thousands of dollars worth of damage.
It's not like this type of stuff doesn't happen on every campus.

Ok. That's a fair statement. I guess I just hear "monopoly" get over-used so much now that I just have an itchy trigger finger.
Also, I can tell you for a fact that Brandon took the waiting list for season tickets as a sign that he could do anything that he wanted. Now that the waiting list has evaporated, I wonder how he perceives.
|7 weeks 3 days ago||I don't think you know what a||
I don't think you know what a monopoly is. Football entertainment is the commodity. There are 32 professional teams (brands), hundreds of college-level teams, and thousands of high school teams. At any point, someone can decide to root for another team, attend their games, and buy their merchandise. Your statement is like saying that people who only buy Apple products aren't going to buy Android or Microsoft products, Apple is a monopoly for raising their prices to meet the demand. The fact that you aren't willing to cut ties with a product you've supported as it has become overpriced and the quality has degraded does not mean that it is a monopoly.
