I bet if you did a survey with the question, "How many points is a touchdown worth?" you would get more people who respond with 7 than those who say 6. This would probably change that.
What's interesting to me is that it will drive teams to utilize 2 point conversions, making the PAT something that is only used when a team is down by 1 or up by 8 in the 4th. Scoring a TD as time expires doesn't get you out of the water, making the select few times they happen as exciting as kicking a FG to win/tie the game.

42% is a number oft quoted around here. However, I think more teams would just practice more red zone plays and have 10 plays ready to go each week. You'd then see that percentage increase and make it an unavoidable advantage to go for 2.

What about a team like Arizona that loses a guy for the remainder of the season? Do their losses mean less when predicting their future success? Unless, of course, they are manipulating data by hand, which renders the whole ranking as potentially biased.
Also, at some point, you have to just discount the effects of the injuries because of the potential of another injury happening in the future.

Well, according to wikipedia: "bower (from the German word Bauer, "farmer", denoting also the jack)".
Based on that, I'd say that either way is probably fine.

First of all, Jake Butt.
Second, you think that Paskorz was going to see the field before AJ Williams?
Third, I think the premise of this chain of comments is that he is already gone, so who get's his scholarship? Even if they had used that scholarship on another TE, they weren't likely to get anyone who was going to pass Butt or Williams in any way. We're better off waiting a year to take another 4* rather than trying to fill with a 2/3* right now.

Unless we have a deep tourney run with him carrying us, I just don't see him leaving. With him getting shut down so often, I just think it hurts his stock.
Of course, that mid range in the draft might be the best place for him considering that those teams will likely have other players to draw attention off of him whereas the lottery teams are less likely to have that.

Yes, he does. He had 14 points to Stauskas' 4 in the first half. Without that first half performance, the score is probably flipped.

I remember them talking but I don't remember the details of that conversation. I need to go back and rewatch season 1 before I get into season 2 (my wife and I always go through all of the episodes of GoT before the season starts too).
It seems to me, though, that the relationship with his friend might have been about having power and control over him.

Agreed. Most of the time, this just comes out by the character telling another character his plans. They just decided to skip that part of it and talk straight to the audience. It makes him seem like a much more despicable character than if he was just telling his wife or his assistant his plans all of the time.

ACL tears aren't really predictable. You can do the same move 1000 times and then on the 1001st time it goes out. A good example is when EMU's QB, a few years ago, dropped back from under center and just fell to the ground from tearing his ACL. He wasn't hit and he obviously had dropped back tens of thousands of times, but, for some reason, his ACL decided it couldn't handle it that time.
Maybe a better way to look at it is to compare it to what happened to Kevin Ware. There is nothing that happened that would make you think his leg would break like that, but it did. ACL tears are similar in the fact that they are an anomaly and that there is not much you can do to realistically prepare for them.

We need at least 4.5 wins where the MSU game counts as 1.5 because of the tiebreaker. If we beat MSU, we can go 3-2 in the other 5 because we have the tiebreaker. If we lose, they will probably have the tiebreaker (from beating Iowa twice) in which case we will need to win the other 5 and hope they lose one or two games.

The rule isn't that you can't interfere. The rule is that if you interfere, then the offense will get the ball at the spot of the foul and they get a first down. So, as long as you accept that you are going to be penalized on occasion when you actually interfere (5 yards downfield), you aren't breaking the rules.
It's the same concept with holding by the offensive line. As long as you accept that you will on occasion get penalized 10 yards, it is in your best interest to grab onto the jersey of the defender to help keep them in front of your, despite this technically being holding.
|4 weeks 4 days ago||This is an evolutionary||
This is an evolutionary style, though. It takes time to catch on. The concept of breaking a rule every play is already taught, but to the OL instead of defenders. I would expect that as more teams have success with this, it will catch on quickly. In turn, there will be some rule alterations and clarifictions along with referee emphasis on enforcing those rules. Most of the time, this still won't be called because it's legal to make contact within 5 yards of the line as long as the ball isn't in the air. However, I would expect that there will be a strong emphasis on calling PI after 5+ yards of contact. That will, in turn, force teams to dial it back a bit, etc.
The reason you wouldn't want to coach this style is that not only are you going to get some penalties in critical situations, but you also open yourself up to getting beat deep if your defender doesn't get a good jam or hold on the receiver. On top of that, I'd imagine that it's difficult for players to instinctively know when to let go (5 yards) as to not get a penalty.
