|13 hours 38 min ago||agreed.......||
Notre Dame games have been great fun and something to look forward to, but the B1G has sucked up to them in every possible way for years for no real reason. To hell with Notre Dame.

Don't care if it was a while ago. Dude can't be forgotten.

Didn't even see this?? C'mon Schultzie!

|3 weeks 2 days ago||And....||
if Henson had hung around (and maybe won a Heisman and maybe a NC) I wouldn't dislike him so.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||totally agree....||
For what it's worth, if we just stick with dudes with enormous potential who blew it due to misbehavior and/or bad choices I'd say Tarpley and Henson are good choices. Tarpley was a generational talent who was still great for several years in spite of the cocaine.
Tangentially.... My all time M greats are Kramer, Oosterbaan, Carter, Woodson, and Harmon. I'm fairly well convinced that if Antonio Bass didn't get hurt, he would have been a sixth on that list.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Yeah I know....||
I was awkwardly pointing out just how little there is down there by mentioning two of the good things (and they are very good).
The problem with Dixie is that what could be both great and charming about it is its large rural/small town feel. Globalization and a general shift to a knowledge based economy has hit these sorts of places incredibly hard in the last 30 years and what's left is lots of unemployment and meth and little of the social benefits of modernity.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Dude....||
Coming from SEC country it's important you avoid becoming part of a common meme.... Pick up a copy of this:
|3 weeks 2 days ago||I like the Florida Keys.||
and New Orleans a great deal. I think you're a little narrow minded Hatter.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||this is right....||
The same feeling is strong at OSU as well. They really don't care if their team cheats and they will tell you as much.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||No problem with any of your post.....||
except your thougts on Blue Tractor's food.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Yeah....||
Dude does have that reputation. Seems he really really likes the hippie lettuce.
|4 weeks 6 days ago||It rhymes "round"||
With "around" repeatedly. It has a Shakespearean reference referencing nothing. It has a long,bad, and completely nonsensical guitar solo. And several times it has lyrics that just trail away to nothing as our rocker artists apparently forgot you can just rhyme a word with itself. It's the worst popular song ever.

Ratt wins (loses) for having the single worst song ever in Round and Round.
|5 weeks 2 days ago||I was driving my young daughter and a couple of her friends home||
from her up north birthday party several years ago. Heading Eastbound on M-10 we neared a well defined storm for several miles, the girls chattering away as 9 year old girls do. We reached the storm and the rain/hail/lightning were fairly intense, but easy to drive through at reduced speed. Chatter chatter chatter. We came out of the storm into intense sunlight, a thick mist coming off the highway, with the most dramatic rainbow I've ever seen rising directly in front of us. Chatter chatter chatter. We were getting noticeably closer and closer to the rainbow over the next 10 minutes or so when I pointed it out to the kids. Chatter chatter chatter. Finally, the right (south) side of the rainbow had landed/reflected off the wet hood of my car. It appeared about 8 inches across and faded just a bit as it rose into the sky. It curved off to my left and seemed to terminate just on the other side of the highway. I was raising my voice to the kids trying to point out the weirdness of what we were experiencing for the minute or two it lasted. Nuthin... just chatter chatter chatter.
|5 weeks 2 days ago||You know this isn't||
Have yourself a thimbleful of balsamic. Slurp it like you would noodles from a Korean soup. Follow it up with an ounce and a half of decent bourbon with an ice cube and you'll be fine.
|6 weeks 2 days ago||I said a couple years ago that...||
once some cat thought up the hook "God Bless Texas" he was instantly rich. Didn't need another lyric or a word of music. Throughout most of that genre "God Bless Texas" was plenty.
|6 weeks 2 days ago||Veering into the political????||
from the guy who apparently did a diary on the Trump candidacy???? I don't know what I did that was so bad that God didn't let me see it. 3 Months to the Tour!
|6 weeks 2 days ago||I have one in A2.||
but thanks anyway!!
|6 weeks 2 days ago||I generally am not a "last word" kinda guy...||
but that's just not the case. I'm not nearly motivated enough to find a set of sentencing guidelines from the 1980s, but I guarantee you an evening's worth of heroin was treated far more severely than an evening's worth of pot.
|6 weeks 2 days ago||The war on drugs was a bad idea and didn't work....||
But it had no effect at all on how the legal/university system treated recreational pot use in Ann Arbor. Your assertion that heroin and pot would have been treated the same way just isn't the case.
|6 weeks 2 days ago||Yeah RO... That's what I thought.||
Divorce has found me in A2, but my kids are in RO. My boy is in ROMS and I frankly have no problem with having a cop there. If he were to get in a beef with some kid and face expulsion I would have a huge problem with it. Cheers and Go Blue.
|6 weeks 2 days ago||Disagree... especially in high school....||
Get a couple 190 pound (or 250 lb) guys who are in shape and want to have a go what are the teachers supposed to do about it? It's good to have a trained individual to call in. As for the punishments I agree entirely.
|6 weeks 2 days ago||In my view...||
shooting plastic cups in a dormroom is about equivalent to setting off firecrackers, binge drinking or smoking pot in a dormroom. None of these things are a good idea, but legal charges? Not if I'm in charge (which I decidely am not).
If one of these kids possessed (let alone discharged) a weapon that actually used a powder charge in a dormroom I would feel very differently about this.
|6 weeks 2 days ago||and it would hurt!||
|6 weeks 2 days ago||Bullshit...||
Get caught with pot in South Quad in 1987 and it costs you a visit with your RA and/or a $5 fine at the city courthouse depending on who caught you. Get caught with heroin and you were likely on the verge of dismissal from the university along with mandatory drug intervention and you were facing a heavy fine, a court date, probation, and it would be strike one on the way to three.
|6 weeks 2 days ago||Why?||
I would think the GA coaching staff could take care of this one just fine. This has nothing to do with gun rights (FWIW, I'm a gun owner who is very much in favor of reasonable gun restrictions). It has to do with punishment appropriate to an offense. Just not much here.
|6 weeks 2 days ago||I also live in a middle class suburb....||
Formerly maybe the same as yours if a cloudy memory of an old post serves.... I have no problem with having a cop on site. A few times a year things are gonna get out of hand with a few kids and I'd rather have a trained person dealing with separating kids in a fight or taking a pocketknife off a kid than telling a teacher he/she has to do it.
That said, the zero tolerance thing is crap. My daughter is in high school and a bunch of her friends got popped on a Friday night with a case of beer and some jungle juice. You'd have thought they were running a shooting gallery. Cops, suspensions, year long bannishments from sports. It was nuts.
|6 weeks 2 days ago||Yer right... this is crazy....||
I try to view these publicized offenses through the lens of "would I have done this in South Quad in the mid 80s?" In this case, absolutely. No, I wouldn't be so dumb as to bring a bb gun to campus, but yes, I would absolutely have had a few beers and shot plastic cups with one if it were around. A felony? Preserve me.
As for the politics of this thing for those who know nothing about guns .... Comparing most pellet guns to a 0.38, shotgun, or rifle is like comparing a joint to a loaded syringe of heroin. Sure they're both drugs, but they aren't the same thing.
