both the thoughts of the Chinese leadership and the tradeoffs the butler-hiring Chinese citizenry is willing to make, I wonder how the Chinese butlers feel about the arrangement. I don't know what the actual rate of Chinese growth is, but whatever it is it doesn't seem sustainable. Without that growth the economic opportunities available to its poor citizens dies and, I think, their willingness to live in an authoritarian system dies with it.
We shall see.
|13 hours 19 min ago||a little cool story bro....||
I think I related this story several months ago, but it's mildly relevant to the thread so....
I saw Wilcher at my daughter's track meet a couple years ago where his daughter was competing for another school. I said "hello" to him and you could see the instant dread in his face. I'm sure he was thinking I was about to accost him about one of his recruits. When I told him I still remembered the whoopin he laid on me in a HS indoor 60 meter race he completely relaxed and we chatted about our girls for a minute. Really good dude.

there is a photo of a kid with JKP, Cesar Ruiz and Ron Johnson. Ruiz is something like 6-3 and 315. Check out RJ in comparison.... He's gigantic for a D End.

a running back can force the tackler into very heavy contact by lowering his head and shoulders and taking him on squarely thereby not providing any angle for the tackler to attack from. This is possible (if dangerous) because of the helmet and body armor he wears. A rugby player would need incredible bravery/stupidity to attack a defender in this manner.
I applaud the shoulder tackling technique but it's not a cure-all. When it is utilized in a head-on situation the RB need only to cut slightly toward the shoulder the tackler is using and he will fall forward for an extra yard or two if the bodies are around the same size. If the tackler handles the runner head on he is more likely to bring the runner down immediately.

of an unregulated capitalist / libertarian economic system (massive wealth disparity, environmental catastrophe, tragic working conditions and huge economic swings), with the worst of a Soviet style govenmental system (lack of freedom of speech, protest, religion, press etc).
The current systems will eventually correct themselves. When they do I hope it looks more like 1989 Berlin than 2016 Venezuela plus nukes.

but much the same could be said for Washington, Jefferson, TR, Churcill, and Mandela. Heroic actors all who caused positive change in spite of their various imperfections.

She had her fun and ya know, like we all do and sometimes the lamestream medias picks up on it, but we're gonna make America great again right here in Wasilla and maybe she'll even have Glen up for a little celebratory sexy time when we do.

Focus exclusively on nuclear physicists and classical strings players. If a young mathematician shows promise either as a potential Nobel winner or as a large future donor he may get a little sumpin sumpin.

Les has had his missteps over the years, but I think he's a good dude and if he just wants to coach some guys up with a chance at success I think western is a great fit.

Was atrocious against FSU. I thing he gets passed by both Wheatley and Asiasi for formations with the TE tight to the line.

I don't hate Wilton at all. I do think his ceiling is significantly beneath All America level, which is near mandatory for true national title runs. Speight is slow, his accuracy is suspect, is arm strength is not elite, and his release makes him play shorter than he is. I certainly like the kid's leadership, his toughness, and his pocket awareness. In the end I think Peters will get every shot to show he's ready and Speight will be around #15 on Brian's list.

That run th football teams from which these kids come from are generally not terribly serious institutions. Furthermore, most of the fb players who go that route are ill equipped for even th advantageous program M has installed for football players.

Look damaging by the numbers, but.... The d-line will still be outstanding, the linebacking will be improved, and the secondary feels like it's in reload mode rather than rebuild.
I think we'll be fine at qb with Speight, but I'm hoping Peters seizes the job. We'll be improved at RB and,I think, TE. WR may be less consistent, but will likely be more explosive.
Next year looks similar to this year pending Drev's ability to cobble together an O-line.

Great writeup.... Quick question for you or anyone else with a thought on it; If we do in fact wind up with 4 unfilled spots, do we go with weird guys or award the scholarships to senior walkons/5th year long snappers? Seems to me that it might be good to start evening out the scholarship numbers from class to class.

Are you not aware of the incredible worldwide reach of the Spartan recruiting network? Any moment now we'll begin hearing about the Tongan nose tackles, the Lithuanian guards, and the Jamaican WRs ol Mark has lined up. Starz are for losers. East Lansing will soon be home to an unrivaled international pool of talent.

He committed to Alabama, listened to us and had second thoughts, but never "reopened" the process because there's no benefit to do so. If he sticks with bama the stuck with his verbal. If he how with us ( or Cal) he changed his mind. If he reopens his recruitment gel looks wishy washy. Especially if he does ultimately go with bama. If we weren't seriously in the running, he would have put an end to this speculation a long time ago.

Had every opportunity to win the job (just as Speight did against OKorn, Malzone, and Peters). HOKE/Borges didn't do him any favors, but he had 3 full years in a college s&c program and a full year under Harbaugh/Drevno/Fisch. He has a hell of an arm, he's a solid athlete, and he's tall enough. On th other hand, he doesn't seem to have any touch, his field awareness is sorely lacking, and his accuracy is inconsistent. He's just not good enough to beat other guys o the roster and that has little to do with Brady Hoke.
