"The face of the operation is Briatore (referred to exclusively in the film by his colleagues and angry, chanting detractors as "Flavio"), an anthropomorphic radish who spends most of his time at QPR plotting to fire all of the managers."

Great guy, and always interesting to hear from. Part of that critical group that was recruited by Amaker but bought into Beilein's system and was rewarded with a tournament appearance after the decade-long drought.

Why are you acting like such an ass? Not just here but in the other thread.
Quebec is unique, owing to its French language and heritage. There is no point in denying that. And you might want to be a little more welcoming to a kid who is committed to come here.

For those unfamiliar with the Quebec school system, a Cégep is a post-high school institution, sort of like a junior college. So he should be about 20 or 21 when he enrolls - but he should still have four years of eligibility. This was the case for Alain Kashama and Deitan Dubuc.

Yeah, the passage of time has rehabilitated Mo's image among a lot of fans. The '93 team was pretty young, but '94 was expected to contend for the national title, with lots of experienced, future NFL talent. 8-4 was a major disappointment.

This is a guy who 1) bet on games involving his own team both as a player and manager, 2) signed a document banning himself from baseball for life and 3) even after signing that document, has been lying about his actions for 26 years. Let's not make him out to be some victim here.

It's definitely crazy that we have faith in the guy who turned San Diego, Stanford and the San Francisco 49ers into big winners.

Curious what he's hinting at here. Admissions? Finances? Discipline?
Speaking of finances, was Ross's giant donation not factored into the budget when they reported that $7.9M deficit?

It shouldn't have been a surprise at all. Our 2014 home schedule was one of the worst in school history, with no home rivalry games and not much else of interest. The closest thing to a marquee opponent was a .500 PSU team.
Also, we lost to both Nebraska and OSU at home in 2013.

If there is an option to buy the music, you should do so. Reward the artist if you can. It's not like it's hugely expensive to download a song through a legitimate site. Remember when you used to have to pay like $14 to buy a single at the record store?
Now if you can't find the music through any legal channel (which has been an issue for me for some older stuff and non-U.S. music), that's a little different.

I've just seen this picture and man, I don't know if we're talking about the same movie. United Passions was a non-stop roller coaster of chills, thrills, spills - and kills!

IIRC, they kept the animals (and the people who had to fight them) in those subterranean passages.

So - in contrast to human sprinters - racehorses haven't gotten faster as time has gone on? Not knowing that much about horse racing, I assumed that improved training methods would have made the current ones the fastest. Interesting.

I remember going to Piston games there, when they had that giant blue curtain covering up half the stadium. Some nights you could go for free if you brought in an empty can of coffee.

I'm pretty sure the Colosseum no longer hosts sporting events. It doesn't even have a floor anymore.
However, some of the other Roman arenas in the Mediterranean region still host events. I've visited the one in Nîmes, France, which is still used for concerts and bullfighting.

It wasn't the MSU loss that ended the platoon. It was the Illinois loss the next week. Henson played the second quarter of that game, as he had all season. But after that loss, Carr junked the platoon and went with Brady. (The playing time Henson got against NW was mop-up duty.)
|7 weeks 4 days ago||Brady wasn't always the hot||
Brady wasn't always the hot hand. Henson started the second half against Syracuse (where he went the distance) and MSU (where he was pulled).
|7 weeks 4 days ago||No, Henson started the third||
No, Henson started the third quarter, and threw that pick late in the quarter. Brady came back in when we were down 17 and nearly led us back.

I don't disagree with any of that. We may well have run the table in the regular season (although we definitely would have been exposed by Miami if we faced them in the title game).
I just don't quite agree that our offense was loaded. It lost a lot after 2000. Poor Navarre stepped into a pretty bad situation (relatively speaking, this being pre-2008).
|7 weeks 5 days ago||The '01 offense had to||
The '01 offense had to replace four OL, Anthony Thomas at RB, and David Terrell at WR. Henson could have smoothed the transition considerably, but it was not a loaded offense. 1999 and 2000 were the years we were stacked.
|7 weeks 5 days ago||He was definitely considered||
He was definitely considered more than a fringe player. He would have been a top 10 MLB draft pick out of high school - if not #1 overall - if not for his unwillingness to commit to baseball full-time (and his father's insistence on a contract with a huge bonus if he did quit football).
That said, it's possible that Steinbrenner thought he was killing two birds with one stone by taking him away from Michigan.

You find this annoying?
This an amazing song. It adds a touch of class to the event and is timeless. The only sports-related songs I can think of that are as powerful are the NBC Olympic songs ("Bugler's Dream" and "Olympic Fanfare and Theme.") UEFA will probably play this song for decades - whereas I tend to doubt that "REMEMBER ME! FOR CENTURIES!" despite its lyrics, is going to have staying power.
