What does Warde Manuel do well? Actually, as mentioned in the gif above, what would you say he does here? He doesn’t keep good coaches. He doesn’t hire good coaches. He doesn’t handle scandals well. For some reason, he lets a point guard borrow his wife’s car, which he proceeds to crash, and then the young man gave a fake name and said he wasn’t driving. If Warde stays, we’re stuck with Juwan Howard for the foreseeable future, and in all likelihood the football program will go into slow decline. Because Warde will do the only thing Warde does well. Nothing.
I don’t think Warde has a clue about finding a head football coach and was terrified of the prospect. So if you want to credit his laziness and awareness of his own incompetence, have at it.
Anyone who thinks those of us who want Warde fired are “brain dead” have their heads in the sand regarding what’s been going on in the athletic department, particularly with our coaches. Do some research and educate yourself. He may have lucked out with Sherrone Moore, because I have zero confidence in Warde being able to run a successful search for a head football coach. Maybe he wants to interview and do well and then even if he doesn’t get the job, word gets around the NFL that he did well and that gets him more opportunities now or next year.
All of this suggests Michigan is his #2 option. At this point I hope Minnesota hires him and Michigan can move on.

So either he's interested in the NFL and this will be a recurring problem as long as he's here or he's bitter about the pay cut and wants to let Manuel twist in the wind for a while. Maybe both. It's not a good look either way. At this point I wonder if it would be better for Michigan in the long run if he moved on.

Yep, I was calling for Harbaugh’s head a year ago. Yep, it was a surprising and successful season and Harbaugh finally crossed some achievements off the list. But I don’t think the sky is falling if he leaves. If he truly has a desire to return to the NFL I hope someone hires him.

The things JJ needs to improve on can be coached and learned with experience, the things Cade needs to improve on mostly can’t be improved on because they involve athletic ability that you either have or you don’t. Unless he gets lazy and doesn’t put in the work, JJ should be the starter next season.

If Hutch and Ojabo don’t have huge games, we are toast. Stroud gets rid of the ball quickly and his O-line does a good job of protecting him. Plus we all know the refs will let the OSU O-line get away with murder. This is a daunting task ahead of this defense.
