|3 weeks 1 day ago||Good riddance Mattison||
About a week ago someone on this site said U of M has a good defense. Wrong. They crap the bed against any competent offense they face, and collapse at key times. The OSU score before halftime is a perfect example, it was devastating and killed Michigan's momentum.
I may be happier to see Mattison go than Hoke, I had high expectations for the defense under this regime. They failed miserably.
|10 weeks 1 day ago||If Hoke comes back, the||
If Hoke comes back, the university will show they've given up on the football program, and fans will follow suit.
|11 weeks 2 days ago||Hopefully the regents and||
Hopefully the regents and president think of the consequences of keeping Brandon and letting him hire the next head coach. Is saving those millions worth giving up on the football program?
How many years has it been since the football team has really been relevant? (2011 notswithstanding) Add another 4 years to that after Brandon's next stooge fails, and you will have essentially handed Brandon a shovel to toss the final piles of dirt on Michigan's football program.
I don't think very many intelligent people believe Brandon has a clue how to turn around the football program, or even if he did, that his ego wouldn't get in the way. I'm hoping that will be his undoing. If not, I'll have to find something else to do on Saturday afternoons.
|1 year 7 weeks ago||It's his opinion...||
Feel free to disagree with him, but unfortunately I think he'll be proven right. This is by far the best defense we've faced this season. Given the shaky play of the interior of the OL, Devin's tendency to turn the ball over under pressure, the complete lack of a running game, our underwhelming defense, our mediocre road record under Hoke, and our propensity to play without the same fire and intensity that MSU does in this game, and that spells trouble. There just isn't much reason to be optimistic.

You guys are putting a lot of hope in a guy coming back from an ACL injury. I don't think he'll be the same player until next season, but I hope I'm wrong.
|1 year 11 weeks ago||Yeah, but...||
Yes, but the game was quite a bit closer than the score indicates, right? It was 14-7 at the half.
Both the o-line and d-line have looked very average at times against inferior opponents. Its worrisome.
Yes, the Big Ten isn't good, but I don't see this team beating MSU or Northwestern on the road or Ohio State at home. Happy Valley next week could be tough, too.
|1 year 15 weeks ago||You mean Ohio?||
Thanks for not calling them Ohio. This is a wonderful site in so many ways, but sometimes the herd mentality is annoying.

Jason King has U of M out of the top 25 next year. He thinks all four of Michigan's NBA prospects will leave. Meanwhile, he has MSU keeping everyone and ranked #3. Michigan State fan?

What's makes it worse is Shaka is close friends with Akron's coach. I don't get it.
|1 year 40 weeks ago||It's simple...||
It's not rocket science. It's not luck. We don't play good defense consistently. And that's probably being too kind.
|1 year 40 weeks ago||Hats off to Indiana? ummm, no||
They can thank the refs and our inability to make free throws in the clutch.
|1 year 42 weeks ago||you forgot something||
You got the misspelling part but you forgot to say he should be fired per OMG Shirtless' description.
|1 year 42 weeks ago||bad game?||
Bad game? They haven't played well in weeks. This team refuses to hustle defensively, and it's gonna kill them in the BT tournament and the NCAA tournament.
|1 year 44 weeks ago||It was more than just an awful game...||
It was more than just an awful game, this team got manhandled and then....it appeared to me they flat out quit. This team and coaching staff needs to take a serious look in the mirror because you just can't perform like that against your rival if you want to be considered a good program. Quitters should not ever wear a Michigan uniform, and that's what they appeared to be last night.
|1 year 44 weeks ago||Yep, you are the voice of reason||
Yep, you are the voice of reason. Based on what we've seen so far this season, there is really no reason to believe we'll beat MSU on the road. The game will probably unfold exactly as Cold War says: fall way behind early, comeback, then lose. I think we'll lose by 8-12 points.
|3 years 7 weeks ago||Moss has no concept of boundaries||
He tweets Mark Schlereth asking him why his son sucks. He likes to call someone's daughter the c word in a public forum just because he has a beef with the father and wants to get under his skin. I mean, it doesn't really bother me, but he has issues.
He's brutally honest about expressing his opinions on local sports media figures. He used to skewer Mike Valenti as the phony loudmouth hack that he is, but now they tweet each other like they're twitter buddies. Disappointing.
|3 years 40 weeks ago||the OSU student newspaper is calling for Tressel's firing...||
Apparently some Buckeyes are sensible.
|3 years 48 weeks ago||Hoke knows Mattison, RR doesn't||
I don't think RichRod has any connection with Mattison, so I don't know if he could've gotten him. Hoke coached with Mattison at Western and Michigan.
|3 years 49 weeks ago||ESPN Insider has a different theory...||
There is a school of thought that the interest in Miles is simply to satisfy the Bo Schembechler faction of the Michigan athletic department, and that Brady Hoke is the intended target all along.
They also say a source indicates that Miles' wife Kathy doesn't want to move the family to Ann Arbor. And they link Mgoblog for the Gruden rumors.
|3 years 49 weeks ago||It seems that DB was telling the truth...||
It seems that DB was telling the truth when he said after the OSU game that he would conduct a review after the bowl game and make a decision at that point. I was hoping he was lying. I thought that was said to get the media off his back. I believed he had made the decision to fire RR and would use the break before the bowl game to do a search and vet candidates. I thought he realized that after the last fiasco of a coaching search, it would be vitally important to have a plan in place to announce the new head coach shortly after the firing of RR.
I guess I was wrong. And DB can claim the moral high ground, saying he has been honest through this process. But he should have realized that after what happened 3 years ago, it would be a serious error to wait until January to begin the head coach search. Did he really think the bowl game would change his decision? He is contributing to the growing perception of the athletic department as an inept laughingstock. I don't know if its ego, naivete, or just not doing his homework, but he has displayed a serious lack of judgement in this process.
|3 years 50 weeks ago||no chance tonight||
He'll continue to deflect and say tonight is about his players, guaranteed.
|4 years 3 weeks ago||some things aren't explainable...||
Like why so many people on this site still support Rodriguez. Guess you're stubborn enough to go down with RichRod's ship, if not this year then next year. They'll probably go 8-4 and get destroyed by Michigan State, Iowa, Nebraska, and OSU. And you guys would defend him.
|4 years 4 weeks ago||some people in the student section hated it||
I was in the student section and the people in our general area didn't boo, but some of us shook our heads and sat there in stunned disbelief. The guy behind me couldn't believe it. But considering the team played like girls in the 1st half, the theme was appropriate, I guess.
|4 years 7 weeks ago||great...bring back a lame duck coach||
A recruiting apocalypse could happen when you bring back a lame duck coach because you want to give him "one more year." You don't think that will be used against us in recruiting?
|4 years 9 weeks ago||Okay, I'll bite...||
Next year RichRod will be coaching the team. Come on, someone had to say it.
|4 years 15 weeks ago||after last year's good start was proven to be fools gold...||
I won't even get that excited if we beat ND. RichRod needs to prove he can win in the Big Ten before I'll really believe in him.
|4 years 15 weeks ago||speaking of history, ND coaches win in their 1st season||
Ty Willingham's first season record: 10-3
Charlie Weis' first year: 9-3
It wouldn't surprise me if ND wins 8 or 9 games.
