dang, just did a quick google search and saw. total bummer.

Finkbine golf course is my favorite spot to tailgate that isn't basically in the footprint of the stadium. Relatively cheap and tons of space. Not a bad walk to and from the stadium. Maybe 15-20 minute walk. You can definitely find places closer but it gets pricey.

If you want bars, go downtown Iowa city. You might be the oldest people there, though. Our favorite place to go eat and have a few beers pre/post game is The Vine. Had good luck there before basketball games. Not sure about football games as we usually tailgate.

Wig and Pen has good pizza too but not sure about game day atmosphere.

I recommend riding the Hawkeye Express train from Coralville, IA to the stadium. It's way easier than trying to find parking near the stadium(unless you have parking passes) and is cheap. If you do decide to do this, I highly recommend arriving as early as possible. It has filled up fast for other Michigan games I've done this for. Parking is free and its like $10-$15 per person. Cash only. Kids 12 and under are free. You can also tailgate in the lot, but it is only open 3 hours before kickoff. Free parking is a huge gravel lot behind Comfort Suites hotel. Enter off James Street. You can buy tickets at the depot where you park.

I will say, you will be surrounded by Iowa fans, so if that bothers you, obviously hold off. I am from Iowa so I usually have some friends with me that are Iowa fans, and have never had any problems on the train. Also, it can get pretty congested exiting the train when you get to the stadium, and entering the train when you leave. Just have to make your way through crowds of people when it can transport up to 1200 people in 1 trip.

Nothing better than a mario

Nothing better than a mario cart banana peel GIF. Well played, Mauer.

Andrew Dakich is funnier than I thought

it was very hard not to choose Jordan Morgan cutting down the nets, but it was even harder to pick which of the Dakich GIF's to pick as the best one.

"well played, Mauer."
